Sometimes you do not realize how beautiful your own country are, until foreigners travel around it. Sweden is a huge country where every part of it has it owns beauty. If you have the possibility, try to visit north of Sweden in the summer, when it never gets dark. Follow the coast line down to the south. There are many places to discover on the way down. I think when we live somewhere we often think, "well I can see that anytime", and then invariably never do, or it loses its appeal because it's not exotic or far enough away in our minds. I do wonder if people think that on the prettiest Caribbean islands for example 😂 I think when you grow up somewhere it doesn't seem as exciting either. But one thing we've loved about being in a van is getting to appreciate parts of the UK we never would have before. Sweden was a definite highlight on our trip and hopefully we will return. There is so much there and the people are lovely we found. Your trip idea sounds great, if we can do such a thing that would be amazing. Thank you to both of you in Stockholm! ❤️😍

Step-hen, this is the best take on it I've ever heard. Luxembourg seems like an incredible destination! It must have been really tough enduring the heat, though. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you both create such beautiful memories throughout Europe. If I had to pick a favorite spot, it would defini tely be either Germany or Prague. Sweden would also be country to visit for sure. I could really see the sadness in your expressions this time 😢, but on the bright side, you’ve had one extraordinary journey!

Aww that's lovely Paul, we like to hope that everyone feels part of the journey when they watch us...even the bad stuff 😂 It was sad but in a satisfying way, a bit like people crying at a wedding maybe. The end montage I thought, "how the hell am I gonna go through and find all the best bits", so we got a few random things in there otherwise it would have taken as long as a whole video 😂

I have family and good friends living in Luxembourg we travelled from Portugal in our camper for Christmas a few years back and we spent New Year’s Eve in Switzerland
Ah that sounds wonderful, especially Switzerland over that period! We'd heard there are a lot of Portuguese people living in Luxembourg. That seems really random to us, but I'm guessing there's a reason that happened? It's a beautiful place anyway (as is Portugal of course, we really want to go back!)

For once we can fill in the info gaps for you. Schengen as in the zone is actually a town in Luxembourg. The thing we found about Luxembourg is it was sooooooo clean. It was like a new country that hadn't been used. However we didn't visit the capital city. Glad you enjoyed your time in Europe and we'll see you again soon, much love and we're off to see a cowboy show 🤟♥️
Funnily enough we recorded a section explaining the Schengen town, but I cut it because there was just so much talking otherwise 🙈 It was probably more interesting than some of what we left in though 😂 We did think of you when we came to Luxembourg, I (Dan) really wanted to get into the areas you did, but alas, time was short at that stage. Public transport being free was a winner though and made visiting the city so easy so I'm glad we saw something. And yes, very clean too as I recall! Genuinely - we love your honest format 🙂. We love getting out in our (19 year old! 😁) motorhome, Bee. We're a little more than weekend warriors, but not vanlifers. So far this year we've been to Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and locally all over Yorkshire. We do an annual trip of about 6 weeks in Southern Europe, but you've now given us the incentive to try Northern Europe 👍🥰. Enjoy the rest of the UK summer x
Northern Europe is absolutely worth a go, especially in summer. Northern France is great from what we've seen too, although we've not done much there except Honfleur. Fantastic that you've been out and about so much in your motorhome, there really is so much to see on this (relatively) small island 😍 We must get to Wales properly, its been on the list for ages!

What now? Stephen being all positive and laissez-faire? Must be the Luxemburg air. Oh, it's just the first chapter of many. Do come back to Sweden. I'll treat you to some proper Swedish food (except Bostongurka, not my fav 🤫). Swedes and Brits love to complain about everything. It's a basic human right, right? Weather is too hot, too cold, or too wet. You name it, we can find something wrong with it. What an amazing trip, so glad I found the channel and got to see a few (for me) new European sights. Welcome back home again. Looking forward to seeing more British adventures! Back in 1986 a Swedish pop group called Style performed Dover Calais in that year's schlager and that song has been a staple of Swedish cheesy schlagers ever since. Good Morning, and first of all, I (Dan) have just instantly rushed to find this Dover-Calais song! 😂 Well, that is a revelation and a half, who knew someone could make a romantic 80s ballad about the entirely ordinary ferry crossing between two very ordinary port towns 😂 I love it. Number one in Sweden too by the looks of it! Of course, if I'd brushed up on my Melodifestivalen history I'd know this - we watch every year, but only since 2018 or so. It's always seemed a mammoth task to delve into the Melodifestivalens of past, but maybe one day 😁 Moaning is absolutely our right, I do think though some of it stems from how changeable our weather is here. On this island surrounded by sea, we never have much consistency, except rain, and of course we're going to moan about that 😂 Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we would love to return one day and trying different Swedish foods would be wonderful. I have watched and approve of its nonsense 😁 However, we noticed there's ice covering the sea behind them at some point, did they just film this in Sweden somewhere?! That's one cold winter in the English channel otherwise 😂 I also note there's an act in the same Melodifestivalen year called Baden-Baden, given that was our last video, this is too weird now 😵💫 🤪
@comealongdear 😂😂 too weird. It was indeed filmed in winter in Stockholm on a Finland ferry aka a party ferry, and the band Baden Baden took their name from the chair rather than the town. Baden Baden deck chairs were the thing to have in the 80's, with an ultra thick and long cushion in hideous floral pattern or stripes. 🫣 Swedes (sometimes unknowingly) love all things "camp" German. 🤪😂
I quite like the idea of a Finland party ferry! Ah yes, I recall those chairs, there's something charming in the hideously garish sometimes, and I think those chairs fit the bill 😂

Ah thank you Ilona 😊 ❤️ We're glad you enjoyed the journey. Oh now funnily enough we were near the Humber recently! After this trip was over (these videos are some way behind reality now) we had a short stint at work, followed by a little period where we explored up north, and part of that was near to there. We're now deep into a 6 week work period, so those videos will go out over that time. It would have been lovely to say hello to you, but I suspect we'll be back up that way again in due course! ❤️

Well, I don't think bringing a lady back for a "coffee" is going to be much of a concern in this van 😂 It's all one bed, although it can be split into two. Not much time to yourself however, but it hasn't bothered us as much as we thought it would.

Apparently Strasbourg, Luxembourg, and Brussels were all decided as geographical locations for the EU parliament in Edinburgh. The whole circus moves every two weeks, back and forth..... As they cannot all agree unilaterally. Best argument l have heard to remain out of it.🎪

Do you mean Luxuryburg? Did you price fish and chips there, could they more expensive than England? Cheap beer countries get a thumbs up from you both, will that be a determining factor when you choose your next holiday destination? I think that would've been quite the mission to find fish and chips in Luxuryburg (now its official, proper name) but then we are often surprised where fish and chips turns up! Sadly there was little time to sample the local cuisine (they are apparently known for these potato cakes called Gromperekichelcer, I wanted to try them, but we didn't come across any). Cheap beer is always a draw (I'm guessing we should avoid Australia for that?! 😂) but perhaps it would be wise for us if we went somewhere where it wasn't 😉 So Australia it is then 🤪 Whatever we do next (well spoiler alert, it's a few UK adventures "up north" first), you will of course be invited, with front row seats, if we had any 😁❤️
German Tip: When you see a th in German, this archaic spelling was to show a long vowel sound, like roat and not rottenburg. Fun Fact: Neanderthal has the old spelling, so taaal and not tal/pal. This is related to the Endlish word ´dale ´i.e. valley.
This is just the kind of fact we love, so thank you for that 👍 😁 "Roat" sounds a more accurate way (and easier to comprehend for English speakers) of saying Rothenburg. Hi Anne, thank you, so glad you've enjoyed our trip around the continent 🥰 It will be more UK stuff for a while now (which is fine by us, there's so much we haven't seen here!), and then hopefully we'll head on out again in the not too distant future if time/funds/life allows. We have seen the riots and it's beyond belief really...glad to see people standing up for the other side and luckily it seems to have calmed down for now.

I have family and good friends living in Luxembourg we travelled from Portugal in our camper for Christmas a few years back and we spent New Year’s Eve in Switzerland
Ah that sounds wonderful, especially Switzerland over that period! We'd heard there are a lot of Portuguese people living in Luxembourg. That seems really random to us, but I'm guessing there's a reason that happened? It's a beautiful place anyway (as is Portugal of course, we really want to go back!)

The thing we found about Luxembourg is it was sooooooo clean. It was like a new country that hadn't been used. However we didn't visit the capital city.

Funnily enough we recorded a section explaining the Schengen town, but I cut it because there was just so much talking otherwise 🙈 It was probably more interesting than some of what we left in though 😂
We did think of you when we came to Luxembourg, I (Dan) really wanted to get into the areas you did, but alas, time was short at that stage. Public transport being free was a winner though and made visiting the city so easy so I'm glad we saw something. And yes, very clean too as I recall!

Genuinely - we love your honest format 🙂. We love getting out in our (19 year old! 😁) motorhome, Bee. We're a little more than weekend warriors, but not vanlifers. So far this year we've been to Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and locally all over Yorkshire. We do an annual trip of about 6 weeks in Southern Europe, but you've now given us the incentive to try Northern Europe 👍🥰. Enjoy the rest of the UK summer x
Northern Europe is absolutely worth a go, especially in summer. Northern France is great from what we've seen too, although we've not done much there except Honfleur. Fantastic that you've been out and about so much in your motorhome, there really is so much to see on this (relatively) small island 😍 We must get to Wales properly, its been on the list for ages!

I'll treat you to some proper Swedish food (except Bostongurka, not my fav 🤫). Swedes and Brits love to complain about everything. It's a basic human right, right? Weather is too hot, too cold, or too wet. You name it, we can find something wrong with it.
What an amazing trip, so glad I found the channel and got to see a few (for me) new European sights. Welcome back home again. Looking forward to seeing more British adventures! Back in 1986 a Swedish pop group called Style performed Dover Calais in that year's schlager and that song has been a staple of Swedish cheesy schlagers ever since. Good Morning, and first of all, I (Dan) have just instantly rushed to find this Dover-Calais song! 😂 Well, that is a revelation and a half, who knew someone could make a romantic 80s ballad about the entirely ordinary ferry crossing between two very ordinary port towns 😂 I love it. Number one in Sweden too by the looks of it! Of course, if I'd brushed up on my Melodifestivalen history I'd know this - we watch every year, but only since 2018 or so. It's always seemed a mammoth task to delve into the Melodifestivalens of past, but maybe one day 😁
Moaning is absolutely our right, I do think though some of it stems from how changeable our weather is here. On this island surrounded by sea, we never have much consistency, except rain, and of course we're going to moan about that 😂

I have watched and approve of its nonsense 😁 However, we noticed there's ice covering the sea behind them at some point, did they just film this in Sweden somewhere?! That's one cold winter in the English channel otherwise 😂 I also note there's an act in the same Melodifestivalen year called Baden-Baden, given that was our last video, this is too weird now 😵💫 🤪
@comealongdear 😂😂 too weird. It was indeed filmed in winter in Stockholm on a Finland ferry aka a party ferry, and the band Baden Baden took their name from the chair rather than the town. Baden Baden deck chairs were the thing to have in the 80's, with an ultra thick and long cushion in hideous floral pattern or stripes. 🫣 Swedes (sometimes unknowingly) love all things "camp" German. 🤪😂
I quite like the idea of a Finland party ferry! Ah yes, I recall those chairs, there's something charming in the hideously garish sometimes, and I think those chairs fit the bill 😂

Morning Irene, thank you ❤️ Luxembourg was beautiful, just a bit difficult to take it in on that hot day when you're pulling yourself up steep hills 🙃 But well worth a visit, it's a real mix of styles and European culture. Ah thank you Ilona 😊 ❤️ We're glad you enjoyed the journey. Oh now funnily enough we were near the Humber recently! After this trip was over (these videos are some way behind reality now) we had a short stint at work, followed by a little period where we explored up north, and part of that was near to there. We're now deep into a 6 week work period, so those videos will go out over that time. It would have been lovely to say hello to you, but I suspect we'll be back up that way again in due course! ❤️

Well, I don't think bringing a lady back for a "coffee" is going to be much of a concern in this van 😂 It's all one bed, although it can be split into two. Not much time to yourself however, but it hasn't bothered us as much as we thought it would.

Cheap beer countries get a thumbs up from you both, will that be a determining factor when you choose your next holiday destination? I think that would've been quite the mission to find fish and chips in Luxuryburg (now its official, proper name) but then we are often surprised where fish and chips turns up! Sadly there was little time to sample the local cuisine (they are apparently known for these potato cakes called Gromperekichelcer, I wanted to try them, but we didn't come across any).
Cheap beer is always a draw (I'm guessing we should avoid Australia for that?! 😂) but perhaps it would be wise for us if we went somewhere where it wasn't 😉 So Australia it is then 🤪

German Tip: When you see a th in German, this archaic spelling was to show a long vowel sound, like roat and not rottenburg. Fun Fact: Neanderthal has the old spelling, so taaal and not tal/pal. This is related to the Endlish word ´dale ´i.e. valley.
