    Thanks for the info, we have a ranger sport v6 and get similar fuel economy with 2.8ton van
    As someone said towmode?? I never use towmode unless in the hills, cruise control in normal mode at a 100 it cruises nicely at about 1500 in tenth gear, doesnt overheat and gearbox temp doesnt get near the red at all
    Great vehicle so far and have towed now nearly 40000km

    Thanks for the video. I got the new Ford Ranger Platinum. I have only towed a little bit but plan on towing a lot next year.
    Check out a place called Etty Bay, beautiful beach front place.
    Safe travels

    Good video. I also have a 2024.5 Everest (V6 Sport) with 6000km. Haven’t towed yet but have calibrated the pro trailer backup assist. I get the same driver fatigue warnings all the time and it drives me nuts too. Option to turn off “Driver Alert” has been removed from settings. Like your wife says it doesn’t do it in the city but constantly does on main highways. I live in the country but commute to Melbourne for work. If lane keeping is on it also constantly comes up with “Keep your hands on the steering wheel” messages. Double pressing the lane keeping button turns that off but not too fast or slow with the double press or it won’t turn off. The moment you turn on cruise it comes on again and have to do the double press to turn it off again. Haven’t had the lane departure messages but that must be that it’s already off. When I first drove away from the dealer it was dinging everything time you were one km over any speed limit. Fortunately that turned off. Had to use blutac to cover those annoying blue lights in the overhead at night.

      I have found in tow haul mode it is much the same but the gear change in cruise is a bit different.

      The car is looking for steering inputs from the driver. When the warning pops up give the wheel a little tug and it will go out (until next time it detects no steering input). That’s why it doesn’t come up as often when city driving. There are no hand grip sensors in the steering wheel. My understanding is that Ford are bringing out a software upgrade to reduce the instances of these warnings.

      @@donr62 on the long straight roads this is the case it’s still annoying we can reduce by turning off some controls but at this stage it is what it is and we look forward to any ideas or updates that come along to assist.

    Out of interest how are your rear axle weights with the van connected? I have a similar weight van and was put off the Everest due to the limitation of the rear axle. Seems like a couple of kids in the back and you have zero payload available in the back.

      @@gregpurvis5694 the rear axle is ok with my kids, they are young and light at the moment. We only have one in the rear the others are Centre balanced.

    Hi, thanks for the video. Can you talk through your weights in more detail in terms of if you've had the car/van weighed and what your gvm and gcm is and whether you've done any suspension upgrades? Thanks

    Out of curiosity is your van 2.8 fully loaded, or is that the tare weight plus whatever you’re loaded up with?

    • @r2kadventures
      @r2kadventures  19 днів тому

      The van is fully loaded at 2.8T with 3 full fresh tanks and all belongings.

    did you do any suspension modification?

    • @r2kadventures
      @r2kadventures  2 місяці тому +1

      I have done nothing with the suspension, I have added airbags though. I do wish I had raised it a bit with the long range tank it drops the clearance a bit.

    We have the Platinum model & Golf 607HT… those alarms are just the most annoying thing as it’s not even close to real world calibration … if it wasn’t for being such a good tow / touring rig… I’d sell it.
    Steering wheel heating just over heats too much
    Adblue.. I fill up at the truck stop areas as soon as I’m about half tank indication …much cheaper
    Fuel… can’t complain there either , won’t bother with fitting the long range tank.
    Can’t say I’d bother with the clear view mirrors… I just use the clip on type
    Fitted air bags to the rear and run 15psi
    Rather impressive rig overall though

      I agree it is a great tow vehicle overall. Maybe these will change with update and feedback.

      @@r2kadventures Yes but At least you can tell her to shut up, or reason with her. Are we that stupid we need someone programing our cars to tell us how to drive? We at least need to be able to adjust the software to suit our needs and intelligence levels. Otherwise its like a bad relationship where it assumes it knows better than you and your needs are ignored.
