We went out of Pirate's Cove in Monteo NC nobody has fished in 3 weeks because of the hurricane. Captain Brenner was the only boat to go right out of the Intercoastal Waterway and turn left, north east.. We caught almost 800 lb of yellow fin tuna.
Great video Joe! Man, that was some amazing action on some beautiful butterballs. Holy crap. I loved how you just scooped the bait up, too bad the live well wasn’t full. Glad you’re back. Thanks for sharing!!!
Hate commenting but here goes: best vids on line,, I even watched all the ads. ,, noticing front runner but don’t recall hearing a partnership announcement. Love the j-villain connection. I realize this type of content is difficult to come by but I just can’t get enough
Amazing morning no doubt,,,,, Joe are you one of few that prefer conventional reels out there? I’ve been using Mak-10 and Mak-15 the last few seasons and they are great for our SoCal/Baja Tuna. I like to use Seeker and UC rods because they are local to me here in Orange County.
This was AWESOME!!!! Nice work on trip studs, and almost a 4th. What are your thoughts on getting a couple very seasoned blue water spearfisherman out there for them, and some big wahoo? We have all the gear needed.
Way to set expectations Joe! Why don’t you do this on every trip?!? Seriously though, I’ll bet that very few of us watching realize the magnitude of how good the fishing was that day. Those folks had a day they’ll likely never see again. Cheers!
I was on the trip and realized this is possibly a once and a lifetime trip. I’ve been offshore many times and tried so many times to get a big tuna. I’ve been to Venice in November and March a couple times and never got this lucky. Joe is as good as it gets!!
Hey Joe, congrats on an epic trip! I have 5 tiagra 50w that I troll and live bait for marlin with but want to try some tuna fishing this summer. Looking for something more manageable to handle is the mak 15 big enough to chunk and live bait for tuna in hope of catching 30-100lb yellowfin’s?
Dude!!! That was flipping awesome!! That cast with your bare hand and hooking that stud of a fish. I wanted to catch one on a spinning rod but... Maybe on one then new ones you get in. Counting down the days my friend. See ya in October One more thing, ya need a deckhand? I need to get sea time and some more experience. Keep up the great work
Joe, you'll probably never read this, but on the off chance you do, I would like to offer you some advice. Might help you, might not. It was something that I had to learn back when I started out working on charter yachts, and then later working on superyachts and would take charter clients fishing. You fish for a living. It was what you do and what you depend on for your livelihood. You eat, sleep, dream and live for that fishing life. However, the people chartering your boat, aren't about that. They like fishing and want to go out and have a good time, but this is not what they do. They might be a mechanic, an accountant, a lawyer or own a lawn care company. They are there with you to create memories and enjoy themselves. When you get excited and yell at them, or talk sternly to them, then it stops being fun and they might want to stop. They don't know what's going on, they want to fish and catch stuff and have fun doing it. I get you're excited and don't want them to have a bad trip, but you are in a service industry. In the heat of the moment, when you get excited, you have a tendency to talk rather firm with people, and get sort of angry. Or it seems that way. I used to be like that until someone explained it to me like this. I would say things like 'I want them to be safe, catch fish, get what they paid for...' As an owner told me, 'If they caught no fish at all, but had the greatest time swapping stories, hanging out having a beer, feeling like their boring life was the coolest thing you heard that day and then recommended you to their friends and they also came back themselves...that's what matters more. Breathe in for a ten count and out for 10. Explain things so that they will remember them the next time. They aren't professional fishermen. Don't expect them to act like it.' That mindset really worked for me and I had people that would follow me from yacht to yacht, just to take them fishing. That mattered more to me than anything else. Love the channel, been following you for years. You know I like you. I just want you to exceed and succeed. That's all.
with these fish i have to push clients to get them to the boat quickly or they will 100% get eaten by sharks. during this time of the year while targeting these fish I am VERY deliberate and clear with them explaining this every single morning before we leave the dock. in the past when i havent done this all the fish we hook get eaten by sharks, not only hurting our fishery but not catching anything. I very carefully explain this every morning of every trip. i appreciate the advice
Fighting belt and lean back body weight and that jumbo on the spinner gets spanked with no line break. You have no flexibility to maneuver with that rail pole. It’s just not a good fit for spinners. Lock the drag, fight for 5 mins tops and hand off to the next person with a belt. Fish broke off because the fight was too long and you put too much stress on the line at weird angles. That Nomad rod was a beast tho. Very impressive.
Joe, they have a miniature 17-inch aluminum bat made by Boone for striking fish, nice-looking bat. And I hope you have an extra U also, if it falls in, your clients are going to be in a world of hurt without it.😂😂😂😅 Keep putting in the work great video.
Good to see you back. Haven't seen you in a bit. Awsome vid.
thanks!!!!
Rang the bell with that pipe

Great I was just thinking earlier wondering where was you
Here i am!
Targeting tuna in a hundred feet of water?
absolutely, theres no fences out there. we caught them shallow this year than ever before
The best part… Not another boat within view!
Yellowfin fishing is something I definitely rather watch than do. I don't think my arms could handle it lol. I'll stick to bull red's
Any guesses on how big the one that got away was?
guy at 22:40 would have went feet up overboard if he gaff that thing lol
That tall mark

Amazing.....

Working on it!
Live action!
yew!!!!
I feel if there were a few more videos, you would have more viewers.
Had to try this video multiple times to get it play. Kept saying something happened try again.
4 weeks without a video or reply??
im back!
Had a friend tell me many years ago Schoolers are the Only thing better than Sex!
Stereo gaffing.
I hate spinners especially in a hot bite. waste of valuable time. could have had two in the boat on conventional gear. what a day.
Are you always this bossy and noisy to your fellow fisherman?
I hate videos with commercials
