As a resident of Baguio, I may say that the place you've visited is similar here like how it is rich in nature. Only difference is Baguio City is mountainous, cold, and full of pine trees. A small city on top of the mountains, but also feels like living on the countryside, weather is pretty foggy and chilly mostly (like now) and people are diverse; English is more like a second language rather than Tagalog and we are so-called Highlanders 😊 - broad comment but yep😊😅
Hope you could go to Baguio one day.. here's what to see and experience in Baguio: *Cold climate especially November to Feb ( around 8 to 14 degree celsius) *lots of pine trees *winding roads and cliffs *strawberries(fruits, jam, cake, taho(a sweet tofu kind of drink with jelly pearls) * ube (a sweet purple yam: jam, cakes, candies etc) * sunflowers * remains of old american cottages (built before and after the ww2) * ukay-ukay/flea markets ( 2nd hand cheap items in stores and night markets) * lots of parks with and tourist spots with majestic views of mountains and hilly terrains (Mansion House, Wright Park, Mines View Park, Burnham Park(with lake), Botanical Garden etc) * Igorot tribes ( mountain province northern indigenous people in coloful costumes) * Panagbenga festival (flower festival parade every feb 1) * classy cozy hotels ( like Baguio Country Club, The Manor at Club Joh Hay and more) * Affordable hotels (either on the city center or in scenic places) * strawberry farm where u can pick fresh strawberries * lots of restaurants and shopping spots 😊💗

I love Karuizawa! It's not even that close to Baguio-feels because of the different seasons. Don't get me wrong, I love going to Baguio! But Karuizawa has so much to offer, the cabins sorrounded by the forests where it's easy to spot a squirrel running around, crystal clear water streams and falls, outdoor onsens, tasty and high quality food, ski resorts, big outlet mall and the list goes on! This is the favorite summer getaway of rich and royal Japanese people so you can see some ferraris rolling down the road! If you don't have a car, you should take the shinkansen so it's not a budget-friendly place but it's all worth it!!! These 2 young fine looking guys is such a breath of fresh air to see. They're cool to watch!
