If money were no object I’d 100% go for the A7cr for the versatility. But will be sticking with my trusty A7c mk 1 for now. Very happy with it 🤓

Even suggesting such ludicrous pricing is absurd!
We suppose guidance to our audiences rather mislead them.
There is absolutely No justification when we can buy Canon R8 for $1500 a camera which runs rings round Sony a7 iv.
    Realistically a7cii shouldn't exceed $1900 & a7cR $2400,
If incoming releases expect success & popularity.

What are your thoughts. Does the A7cR make more sense? Or is it too expensive for the form factor? 🤔

Or buy 41 MP Fuji for around 1800, they have 1.4x and 2x digital zoom giving you 20 and 10 mp images; film simulation does colors so save money and time on post as well.

Yes, indeed. I'm sure there are other options but I was just comparing these two cameras relative to each other. Don't forget though that Sony also has clear image zoom giving 2x. I've never used it personally but many say it is pretty good.

Not interested in either. I have two A7RV cameras which I bought for $3500.00 US each. If I don't need the high resolution, I have two a6600 cameras.

I am trying to decide if I want to wait for one of these or go for the A7RV at a good deal like you list! I have the Sony A74 that I like, was thinking about the A7Cii for a second/travel camera.

@@robertjpayne60sort of the same for me. Looking for a smaller powerful camera. I do not want to travel with my a7rv.

You’re obviously more a photographer. I am a videographer and for ME, the 61 mp is a deterrent not an advantage. The more mp yes gives you more resolution but at what cost? Much worse rolling shutter and over-heating! Too expensive and the extra reach you go on about doesn’t 4:17 interest me. Not a good trade-off sorry

That's a good thought. I actually have a video production business and I use an A1 and A7S3 for this, however, I would be interested in this form factor for street photography and travel. It's not the right camera for. Serious video (maybe YouTubbing) etc. If I was buying one, the whole thing about size, weight and getting away with one prime lens would be important for me. But good comment and we'll spotted.

Yes well I have the a7Siii as well and the A7C is my B camera on 2 camera shoots so I disagree with your blanket statement that is can’t be used as a ‘serious video camera’ It for sure has limitations like only 8 bit and only 30p but for UA-cam delivery without serious colour grading it is just fine. I use it mainly for wide shots on a tripod while I run and gun with the big camera. I bought the Smallrig cage with the soft extended grip to help out with another limitation. Will be on the lookout for the A7C2 as it will have 60p and 10 bit video and 33mp which all will contribute to better videos WITHOUT rolling shutter and over-heating due to all those megapixels churning out glorious 4K video at high frame rates. Just saying…😊

Handgrip? why would you want that, I thought the point of these cameras is to be compact?

@mipmipmipmipmip I have a 70-300mm Tamron on my ZV-E1 and I hold it by the lens, it’s very comfortable :) - it’s mostly lens with a tiny little plastic cover on the end which is the camera 🤣
