As soon as the front wheel touched the water he was no longer the driver. He was merely a passenger.
Good clips. I keep in mind that carelessness, high-flyers (name it), and the general stupidity of other drivers are a constant on the funky roads. Keep your head on a swivel and revs up for quick escapes. Cagers often get target-fixated and freeze direction too.
The "I didn't really do anything wrong, but crashed in the corner anyway" videos make me nervous about getting my 1st bike...

i have went down twice on a motorcycle first time I was riding past my riding skill and couldn't handle it.second time a jackass wasnt paying attention and hit me off my bike..both times I asked hows my bike.its a love and passion nobody that doesn't ride gets .its not something that can be explained you have to honestly do it .
Sometimes you have to be able to see things coming. Always be ready for that person at the intersection to no see you an pull out in front of you. Best advice I ever got was "it is your responsibility not to get hit"

1:10 a woman driver did this to me in MO. It is more painful than it looks. I am pretty sure that driver actually saw the motorcycle and didn't perceive a threat to themselves and so they just continue.
Also ladies, just because a guy owns a bike, doesn't mean you should want to ride on the back of it. 3:55 was priceless, I wonder if he learned his lesson, she probably did.

Could somebody tell me what happened in the first video? I am getting a bike soon and I don't understand what happened. Did he hit the brakes while turning or something?
Not 100% sure but it looks like there was some gravel on the turn (probably from the side of the road), when you get your bike you need to know that gravel or any loose small rocks on the road will massively reduce your grip. If you ever see gravel just slow down as much as you can until you get passed it, and if you ever get in a patch of gravel don't touch the brakes or panic just keep everything steady until you've gotten past it. I don't think the rider did anything wrong he just went a little too fast and lost traction. So it's as simple as he should have slowed down a little
he turned on some gravel, happens with any vehicle, except due to being a balance vehicle two wheels tend to be extremely more sensitive to this effect, therefore slipping out almost entirely most of the time, never try to turn, brake or accelerate on gravel, it can be dangerous.

This is why I ride carefully. All it takes is an invisible petrol puddle or some gravel and you've got broken bones. And fuck, don't lean over so much!

I have a question related to crashes when you ride a motorcycle, dirtbike , etc.... Why do you turn off the engine when the bike tips/crashes? I just want to get sort of a head start so I know what to do n stuff when I start riding
There are a number of reasons but the main one is the simple fact that you don't know what damage may have occurred and until the bike is properly assessed and it is concluded that at least the engine is not damaged in any way it is really not a good idea to run it both for the sake of the engine and safety. Personally I had a few cases where I had to turn off my bike in an emergency, once when I had a crash a while ago and while my bike died on its own I still hit the kill switch and turned off the ignition to kill all the electronics as it was sitting in a pool of petrol, my entire tank leaked out. Another time I saw fumes coming up from the engine so I turned it off straight away to find that there was cooling liquid leaking onto the engine block which caused it to evaporate almost instantly and yet another time I saw liquid down the side of the bike which ended up being a petrol leak. There was also a couple of times when my clutch cable snapped (once while approaching traffic lights at fairly high speed) used the kill switch both times. Also had a time when my engine blew on a speed run, I hit the kill switch and clutched in, who knows, maybe it would have locked the back wheel if I hadn't... so in the end I guess it's just a precaution a lot of the time but definitely a worthwhile one as I'm sure a lot of people here had much better reasons to turn off their bikes than me.

well then there's the simple fact the motor wasn't designed to be running on its side
also if the bikes on it's side good chance the oil pick up inside the sump isn't getting any oil to pump thru engine. doesn't take long to do damage.
I know you already got some replies but I just wanted to add that you have no idea what happened to the engine's vital liquids during the crash. The pump that sucks up the oil usually can't get enough oil while the bike is on its side so that right there is a good reason. Also if gas leaked and the damage caused something weird with the electrical it could start a fire. A lot of bikes auto shut off when it tips past a certain point just as an added safety feature. Also you don't want to be chasing your bike as it's doing circles on the ground when you could be hurt.
Which part hurts the most of the crash, the impact of hitting the floor/whatever stops you from sliding or the actual sliding part?
Depends on the gear you're wearing. My only real "big" crash netted me some nasty road rash - that hurt during the slide. I was wearing jeans and a padded textile riding jacket - jacket took the rash and got no injury to my left shoulder or arm! Fractured a rib after balling up head over heels while sliding. My two lower speed crashes hurt more on impact as I didn't slide far.
Presuming the duc was a test bike, what happens after dropping it? You pay the parts, buy the bike? Or are they ensured for these events?

Why are riders so mad about how terrible some drivers are? Drivers are not out there looking out for you. You are invisible to them. If you make the decision to get out there on a motorcycle, you gotta look out for your own damn self and be ready to die.

Absolutely! Speed is a huge factor in collisions with cars. Bikes are already hard to see and judge, add extra speed and the motorcycle is upon a vehicle before the driver even knows what happened! Ride the speed limit and keep your head on a swivel!

Too fast, not enough skill, not enough attention to the road ahead. That third crash is a perfect example of the third problem. Too busy looking down at his instruments, not looking ahead and planning for that intersection.

Even if steamed over a weird cager move, avoid the mouthy revenge play on a moto. There's just a lot of careless driving out there. Keep the revs up and rubber side down.
