  • Grinder, Spinner, Windsock, Spinsock, you get the idea. This time Cherie and Glenn painted the sky with rotating color from the original "big stuff" kiteflyers used when it all began years ago. Enjoy the view. We did!

    What a great great display Glenn. Big sleds and trilobites. Can’t beat that, oh and..I love the sock! Ha ha

      Pink Panther says thanks. Glenn and Cherie do too, Ken. Its nice to have enough space and laminar wind to permit such a display. It was a treat for vacationers who were there on a Thursday. The stuff was visible in rear view from the harbor shops. They made the drive to the rock. Some ventured out. Lots of photos taken.

      Hi Nicholas, You are most welcome. We kiters know that there is technique and constant problem solving in kiting. It keeps us interested, but can do just the opposite for the many who may fly a kite one day a year. Most of my skill was self taught, but I had helping hands along the way. I tip my hat to them. I will be experimenting with a method for landing large kites in strong winds. A how to video will follow. Regards, Glenn

    That was brilliant Glenn. I really enjoyed watching the video. You did it again with your big spinner.
    I want to have a go at that. I am recovering from a heart attack just now.But I hope to be back flying soon.

      As always, your spinners hold a place of honor. A big spinner coupled with Percy Ball might just invite a game of kiting cricket. You will recover, just let the cardiac mechanic and plumber get you sorted out. Go easy on the fried fish and chips.

      Hi David, I agree with you completely. The display was a visual treat. The camera loves a quarter angle or profile of the trilobite. I am still sore from pulling the big stuff down. Heck, we even enjoy re packing everything.

    That was the best video! Yes ..you guys make it look so easy..but we know it has taken years of experience to be able to safely and effectively launch a display like this. So well done..'Happy Boy and girl'! Thank you for the share..:)

      @@PanyingPilot Turned 65 this year and retired from retail work. I was hoping that I would not be too broken down from the beating the job gave me. And I am finding my limitations. But--kiting has been very good to me, as have the community of kiters I have met along the way. Its good incentive to keep going and messing around in the great outdoors. So I truly get it...we just need to persevere and keep making great memories for a time when we can no longer make em fly..

      What Is Islam?
      Islam is not just another religion.
      It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
      Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
      It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
      It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
      The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
      { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)
      Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
      Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him

    One of my favorites Glenn. Nice big Killip Foil. Tony Killip lives here in Wisconsin. Have flown at some festivals with him. Makes a nice looking Killip flown form 248. Just bought my first turbine on Amazon. The 118" turbine by HQ Kites. Last one. Kind of small, but only $20. Will give it a try and take it for a spin soon!

    • @PanyingPilot
      @PanyingPilot  5 років тому

      Hi Michael. It's nice that the designers of these wonderful kites are our contemporaries, not ancestors. HQ makes good stuff and you will be pleased. Since you fly on dirt, if you notice the swivel binding, try a tiny drop of light oil. Consider using a small fresh water fishing swivel if it still wants to bind up. I'll anticipate your spinner video.

    I recently got a large octopus kite and has many strings at the head. It won't stay in the air very long because the strings keep twisting and tangling the kite and takes very long to untangle. It has 4 very long tails which I thght would help but they arent. Any advice to prevent this from tangling? Thanks

    A splendid mix of lifters and spinners. A mini kite festival in the making. Loved seeing Graham's spinners.
    Did Cherie knit that new wind-sock?

    • @PanyingPilot
      @PanyingPilot  5 років тому

      Panther did the sock as a gift. Cherie and I need the diversion since I am going through Trustee purgatory, courts and all. If it looks like a festival then perhaps those good people who torpedoed the 2019 Morro Bay Kite Festival will come to appreciate what they lost. Anyway, that's my spin,

    Have you ever tried to use the power sled 36 winstock 1500

    • @PanyingPilot
      @PanyingPilot  5 років тому +2

      Good question. No, I have not. I think I might be dissatisfied with the lifting power of the sled. I would not be excited about the visual display compared to a larger lifter. If you try something, let me know, OK?

      Curt from My Wind Stuff (a mobile Premier Dealer) uses the 36 Sled to lift a 1500cm Wind Turbine and it actually works pretty well. He says the Pilot Kite is just a Tool & the show is the Turbine!
      I've used my Power Sled 36 to hang a Premier 1000cm Turbine and it worked really well.
