K40 Laser Engraving Wood Tree Ornament

This video is just a quick overview of engraving a cut from a Christmas Tree that someone brought in to the shop. This is a very simple thing to do, and a great idea for those that like their real Christmas Trees. You can have an ornament from every tree you've had over the years.
Yes, its just a k40 and some people will doubt it, but it is more than capable of getting the job done. This is a great laser for someone that is looking to get into the world of CO2 lasers, and was the Laser that got me into the world of Laser Engraving. With some adjustments and tweaking it can be a very good piece of equipment.
For this video someone brought me a cut from their Christmas Tree, and asked if I could engrave their family name and year on it so they could use it as a Ornament for years to come. After a quick graphic design I was ready for this cool little engraving.
Please don't hesitate to ask me questions in the comments, I know the K40 is bare bones for CO2 Lasers, but it can get you on your way for a minimal investment!

put the sticker on the wood is a very good idea which can avoid the wood been blackened by smoke, smart Michael!

I have a 50w Raycus I use in my knife store. I've been thinking about getting a K40 to do wood tho. 👍👊

We will be getting a Fiber Laser in the next few weeks gonna be a game changer for metal. Can’t beat a CO2 for leather, wood, glass and acrylics though…..

could you please tell me how you raise and lower the bed please ? I have just got a k40 laser and ruin 4 wallets now and they were leather...so annoyed at myself .

Craig, I am in the process of putting together a video on this. When I built my mechanism, it was unplanned, and I didn't have any cameras rolling.
