  • Replacing fuel filters on a Kubota BX1850 tractor, this also applies to other models in the BX line up. There are two fuel filters, one located at the rear underneath the tractor, and another up front in the engine compartment. The rear filter is a little tough getting to, but this is a very easy do it yourself project. If you have a mower deck mounted, you will need to remove it to get to the filter.
    I was having some low idle and sputtering issues, which is usually a result of dirty fuel filters or possible fuel gelling.
    These are the tools I used:
    10MM Socket Wrench (Filter Brackets)
    14MM and 10MM wrench (Fuel Air Bleed)
    Hose Pinch Pliers (to keep fuel from spilling)
    Pliers (Hose Spring Clamp Removal)
    Hose Pliers (Removing Fuel Hose from Filters)
    Catch Pan (to catch diesel fuel when removing filters)
    Zip Ties

    Much appreciated. One thing I can suggest is keep your line crimper on the rear while you’re changed both filters. I also ran some fuel oil through the system when I release the clamp through the front filter so there’s less to bleed. I appreciate the update. Thank you for the video.

    Very detailed video. Great job with the lighting, video and explanation. Most of the videos I've seen on replacing the BX fuel filters didn't even use a light. I'm not very mechanically inclined but this video was thorough enough that I think I can do it as I play and pause this video through out the process. Thanks!

    This is by far the best maintenance video that I’ve seen on UA-cam to date.
    Great step by step videography and detailed commentary.
    No bla bla bla like on so many others.

    Great video! I used this to change the fuel filter on my GR2120. I did not know about bleeding the line. Thank you!

    I have a GR2120 (diesel) which has started to sputter from time to time. We believe it has something to do with fuel (may be the line or the filters or fuel) as other reasons have been ruled out. Your video with the tool usage is very helpful and will save me a ton of time. Thank you very much for doing such a great job and sharing it!!!

    After viewing this video, I attempted to replace the filters on my BX23s.
    I quickly came to the conclusion that Kubota could not have located “underneath” filter in a more jeezless location to work on. To make things worse, there was another hose that ran parallel to the fuel line that was wrapped around the fuel line which I had to disconnect and reroute. The space to work in is minimal so the tools used here are essential
    I didn’t have all of the speciality tools that were used in this video, but I am shopping for them now and hope to have them the next time I have to change the filters.
    They are the right tools to make this job as painless as possible.

    After you bled the fuel line... I still saw some air in the fuel filter. Is that normal? Thank you for the video.

    Can you please provide links to pinch pliers, hose pliers and separator pliers? Thanks.

    How do you get all the air out of the line. I’ve tried turning the key on and letting the fuel
    Pump run as I read on another site but the filter at the motor still has an air bubble that once the motor warms vapor locks the injectors

    I'm here in cny also good video, having trouble with my BX2360 changed the filters and tried to bleeding the air out of the system and it won't move fuel through the bleeder valve im at a loss what to try next aside from calling the dealer to come get it

      What were your symptoms prior to changing the fuel filters?

    • @tedsmith3532
      @tedsmith3532 2 роки тому

      Occasionally acted like the filters were plugged or getting water but I changed them and they don't have any water in them but the first one was dirty. And now I can't get any fuel to the bleeder at the injection pump

      @@tedsmith3532 when you turn the key can you hear the fuel pump? I would pull the hose from the pump and turn the key on to see if you have any fuel pumping. Sometimes when the pumps go bad you will still hear them, but they will only dribble a tiny bit of fuel.

      I can definitely hear the pump but nothing is really happening it gave me a few bubbles at the bleeder and that was it

    Can you change the front fuel filter while the front loader is still on?

    • @mw3designs
      @mw3designs  2 роки тому

      I think you would be able to access the front fuel filter with the FEL on, but I can’t be sure. I have a front brush guard mounted in the summer with my FEL, and the brush guard would have to come off to get the hood off.
