I live in Arizona, our summers get up to 118 degrees. People don't go out during the day. But once the sun goes down, everyone comes out.
I noticed that people in Merida don't use umbrellas to cover you from the sun. I know I will when I move to Merida.
Anyway, thank you for your video!

Well, it’s good to know my years in Texas have prepared me for Merída weather. In the grand scheme of things, heat is much better than a lot of unpredictable weather patterns & unsafe living.

I visited Merida for ten days in March 2021. I was able to get a covid test with documentation for return to the USA at Farmacia del Ahorra on Prolongacion Montejo near Buena Vista. If I remember correctly, it cost me 600 pesos. Also, there is the AutoProgreso bus between Merida and Progreso that is a big bus, pretty roomy, that only cost 21 pesos to go between the two cities. I was totally amazed by that and took the bus several times. I live in Utah normally, where it's cold and sometimes snowy. I found Merida hot and humid but bearable while I was there. From listening to this video and also talking with locals, I suppose I haven't had the real 'heat initiation' yet.

Mosquitoes don't like, listerene, Vicks on your clothes, peppermint oil in water(spray bottle)Lavender oil in water, Avon skin so soft. Citronella. Hopefully one or more works for you, I've used these things in Florida, helped a lot. I heard eating sweets and having blood type O attracts them, not sure about this. Safe travels and Happy Times everyone ❤ ✈ 🚢 🚗 🚆 🚶‍♂️

I found that many of my questions asked in the Brothers and sisters of Merida group was met with a challenge. I was told to either search the group because it was already asked and answered or no response at all. I know that it was COVID, but when I visited I was happy to find one person on the brothers and sisters of Merida who agreed to meet with me at a Starbucks. However another group, The Black Mexpat Community, held a small dinner at an Italian restaurant and the people in attendance provided some great advice for me and another lady looking to make Merida home. I highly recommend joining both groups.

Peace, light, love n LIFE ✨️ I appreciate the discussion here. My hope is that the host can provide an updated peek into living in Merida since we are post cv19. I wonder what the cost of living is now? It would be good to know, as Colby provided the 1br/mo costs since it was mentioned that more ppl or "digital nomads" were popping in. Moreover, I'd really like to hear the pro n cons on getting a Mexican bank acct, the criteria. Also, how that holds up to just doing the provisional visitor's VISA. Has shipping goods in become less of a ripoff with that cash "import tax"😏. And maybe talk on how has the furniture buying market improved or been kept dismal. Just a few thoughts onda mind since Merida seems to be lovely despite the extreme heat conditions. Holla if yah here meh😄

Merida’s weather sounds like Mississippi. When I moved here, it was 99 degrees and with humidity it was 105-109 for 10 days. My legs got burned walking from the parking lot to the store. I have gotten used to it though. But like Merida, summer outdoor activities begin after 5:00 on.

Thanks for the video! I've been in Merida for about 15 months, and do love it. Just wanted to chime in and let you know that it is their culture in Mexico to wait to be asked to bring the check. They think it is rude to bring it before you ask. They don't want you to feel they are rushing you. I think it is interesting no one was asking about the language and if you spoke Spanish. That is the hardest part for me!

In most cities in Mexico, it depends on the building you are in.

I've heard the same thing from other ExPats, Merida is mad hot!!!!! I also hear Guadlajara is ideal temperature wise. And, given the variance of prices of each city, I'd honestly have to go with Guadalajara, Mexico.

I don't know about Merida but I have seen wig stores in Mexico City. BUT... If you want q quality, you might want to bring them with you or have someone bring them down. 💛

If you move to Mexico, the first thing you have to understand is that you are a migrant, not an expat actually most of you Canadians and Americans They never go through the immigration process. Therefore, not legalizing their papers, they are not expat, they are illegal aliens. NOT AN EXPAT
