- I wanted to a direct comparison between the King and Queen of DPS. Striker's and HeartBreaker.
I personally find these two gear sets to be Top tier in terms of DPS and mostly outperform all others when it comes to getting damage down range, but thwt do you think?

Striker for fighting from cover, HB for in your face Rock&Roll fighting. What I have done is a build using 3 Umbra, 2 Striker and Ninja BP. In cover for 5 seconds and when I pop my Famas fires like a GAU-8. Between the two I gain a 45% ROF, 30% reload speed, 15% handling and 100% crit dmg. Yes, you have to fight pop and drop but you can melt 2 or 3 Legendary NPCs before ducking again. Not to mention the Armor bonus Umbra gives while out of cover.
I don't know if you mentioned it, but gunner also provides the perk that gives you another 5% fire rate on kill. Which as you mentioned at the beginning, makes stacking easier, increases DPS multiplicatively, and is easy to get because of that aggressive playstyle, refreshing armor on kill.

I have overhauled my pestilence, Hunters Fury and Heartbreakers builds and I am very happy with the results. Running way less armour and killing things quicker.

When im using an AR I use 4p striker with backpack and ceska obliterate on chest with coyote with striker shield and if i use the apartment cuz its fun, I only swap the chest for a grupo obliterate. These two build are my go to for damage and i feel this is the highest dps possible. (I hate the striker chest)
The highest DPS is striker chest, backpack as it gives you full 200%, gloves, holster, cayote mask, fox knee pads with dtoc as it stacks up. I run it with elmo for long distance and for short-mid range I use oroborus. My damage is between 1-3 mill. I use lefty with sledgehammer. According to data sheet, this is the harderst hitting in game according to data stacks. Combined with fire rate you also keep stacks going.
One thing about dps is that enemy npcs normally duck behind cover and deny the agent consistent damage with the exception to when a one off npc is either flanking or rushing, so building and maintaining stacks is always problematic. It is for this reason that I personally prefer True Patriot as being more reliable than Heartbreaker in general.

I prefer chatterbox. Nothing more satisfying than hitting a large group of enemies with a banshee pulse,runnng up to them and shooting them all dead with a zillion rpm 😂
Much more complicated, than it seems at a superficial glance. The talents are much diffrent thant the seem. Good job of not letting your presonal bias into that. I really commend you for that. Not an easy feat.

I’m using the vector, with flatline talent, and the ACR shotgun also with flatline talent.. and the link laser is on both guns.. expertise level 12 on both guns.. This build absolutely shreds, while also allowing you to constantly have armor…

@@simplyaasian7176 I have damage roll on 3 pieces.. the momento backpack, sokolov mask… and the heartbreaker gloves…thee other 3 heartbreaker pieces i have armor rolled onto them...

Umbra is far better in survival side than Heartbreaker stacks and AoK Gunner/Preservation/Hunter Fury, besides a easily ready to go burst which allows me to melt Heroic Hunters in Countdown. The only major problem with Umbra Initiative is weapon handling, solved a bit by the yellow hive, but with Coyote at distance I am able to roll more CHD than CHC, so even off-burst I would do a good damage.
I absolutely love my HB in Countdown, with chest and backpack and two pieces of improved gear. At roughly 60% PfE, I'm even able to go toe-to-toe with a Hunter in my all red build. 👍 And I'm an unkillable god of devastation for all the other enemies there 😎

@@dh1380 I just like it for the reckless playstyle, taking on 4 or 5 elites at the same time, no cover and still not dying. And, as I already mentioned, to go CQB with the hunters.
heartbreaker in countdown is good if you're the only one using it. too many people running heartbreaker leads to failure

After they NERFED Heartbreaker, I've never used it again. But before EVERYONE in the game started using Striker, it was my main build. I have everything in the game, but I've always only used Striker because i just love to shoot and kill. But HB was my ish when i first came out.
Very nice comparison, thank you. Two questions, apologies if I missed the answer. Why did you put coyote's mask on the Striker but not on Heartbreaker? You talked about team utility of the pulse, with that logic, I'd also throw coyote on heartbreaker. Provide the coyote bonus and pulse to the team. I'm building heartbreaker at the moment, with coyote mask and picaro's holster, and wondering if I am missing something. Second, you talked about it not being possible to regain armor for heartbreaker. Does that also apply to armor on kill, armor regen and damage to armor mods? One thought I had was to go all red on heartbreaker, and then use armor on kill or something to compensate for the loss of total armor (and have a way to regain that armor you said you can't regain). Thanks!
Im a Striker DPS for my clan for legendries and raids. I tried heartbreaker a few times but never been able to make it work.
On armoured enemies you cant hit headshots to pulse. You must have a pulse or the tech attachment. For me the whole set is just crap to use for crappy DPS.
I never have to worry about being a glass cannon either. Usually we have very good healers in the group :) Actually happened a few times my whole raid went down and me as glass cannon finished the fight alone saving the situation simply because of the devastating DPS.
HB is a DPS at wallmart.

I prefer Heartbreaker simply becuase it allows me to mess up more. Striker damage is always gonna be better. - especially if you can aim (PC). I will say that its funny to watch my roller coaster of emotions in a group as I see Strikers all running in front of me to melt everything down while at the same time being treated to a regular barrage of "agent down". If youre gonna be that striker guy, bring a revive hive will ya?
And then more "agent down" for another 3 minutes
what if you combine the heartbreaker with the striker and get the fire rate of the striker . just use the ninja bike back pack ?
HB, using the chest and bp, is fantastic on legendary summit. I use 3 armor cores and 3 red cores with the kingbreaker and rock n roll
the only way I could make that work was with the memento backpack. If I'm running that, might as well run strikers because I'm getting so much bonus armor anyway
@LL-Worst you get a significant amount more though running 4 piece hb. You don't have to collect trophies and you don't have to worry about losing the stacks when you die. If you are getting low on armor, just use the rock and roll or an ACS12 to get a ton of bonus armor back. It is one of the best sets in the game, the damage is up there too even with 3 blue cores
@mikerzisu9508 I'm obviously going to need to reroll them all to get any significant bonus armor. Even with shotgun I couldn't build or hold stacks. It just felt really tedious for not enough value. Having to get prefect rolls so I can roll armor is also a pain. Momento is so much easier and gives SO MUCH bonus armor.
I’ve been messing with heartbreaker with dark winter a link laser pointer, Scorpio, coyotes, and pulse scanner. Don’t know how optimal it is but super fun haha
I have seen a lot of people run this, I believe the original idea came from Rammbob. Amazing player.
It is a good set up and it works well. My only complaint against it is that Heartbreaker says AR and LMG. Maybe I have OCD, Maybe I am boring, but that is it.
I would wonder why the pulse scanner though... link laser pointer pulses them... already?

@@DodRegnbue heartbreaker brand set was built for the king breaker Assault Rifle..and the Dare LMG… But Heartbreaker-is great for having additional armor ..and any gun can be used with it, but of course it’s tailored for the AR and LMG …
Questions on utility... HB's bonus armor... is it not true that gaining bonus armor instantly eliminates any status effects? Seems like that would be a nice benefit maybe, if that is true. And also, if maintaining bonus armor, doesnt that keep Vigilance active, even though you are taking damage, it doesnt register against your regular armor, thus Vigilance stays active? That may be useful, if that is true as well? Thanks for all your knowledge sir.

Not disputing the numbers, but I feel like the inability to regain bonus armour is a bit overblown for the heartbreaker. It’s not like the stacks stop decaying while you’re landing shots. So assuming you’re not at maximum bonus armour, even while you’re at max stacks you’re always getting 2% bonus armour per second while shooting a pulsed target. Add in reload times and it’ll be just a tad more.
This equals a 1% bonus armour every 2 seconds. Not enough.
Although you are right, you will constantly gain bonus armour, but it is only 1% every 2 seconds, 2% if you have the back pack.
Isn't it supposed to be 2% per second rather than 1% per 2 seconds, since the stack decay is 2/s?
If it's the latter then I'm with you, that's way too slow.
@@gundamforreal It is two stacks per second. But how long are you expecting this enemy you are stacking on to stay alive? Not shoot back? Stay still?
Considering the average enemy on Heroic does about 50k - 60K a shot. You gaining 14K armour per second means you are dead in 4.2 seconds.
No no, not expecting the AI to be turned off or anything like that. I'm just saying that, playing normally, if you take a stray shot you can maybe get back maybe 4% bonus armour back by the time it takes you to kill a red bar rather than just 1% or none at all.
@@gundamforreal But now you are relying on RNG. This is just my personal stance, but in my builds I try not ro incorperate RNG into my builds.
In short, you are not wrong, I just do not see the point. That is just me though. I know a lot of people that will run HB over Strikers soley due to the armour. So, absolutely play your way
Hey! I love your videos, recently i found your channel. Do you have any information if they changed how the stacks of armor work on Heartbreaker recently? Do you still have to lose all stacks, to gain more armor?
I believe it's actually addictive stacks, dev team made it like this to keep "consistency".
The stacks themselves add to each other, the total gain is still multiplicative.
For an example. The stacks use to go:
1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1 = 10.46% Amp.
Now they go:
1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 10% Amp.
Kingbreaker is very unwieldy and slow RPM. It gives a big number so it seems good. But for a stacking build RPM is important. Try running the "Dare", carbine 7 or even an M4 with flatline. Your numbers wont beat striker but they will be much closer.

So here's some dumb ideas: Heartbreaker + Sharpshooter spotter drone, or also Heartbreaker + Intimidate? Would those have some usefulness?
Heart breaker intimidate yes.
Although you kind of need to hope you never hit max stacks and then get hit with literally anything.
Sharpshooter is already a pretty common one for the drone I believe.

Dod - Im playing around with a Hunters smg build wherein I have incorporated a Ridgeways and a Wicked backpack.
The gun I have chosen is a tactical vector.
On the vector, I've rolled Damage to Targets Out of Cover.
Is Rate of Fire (5%) a more powerful DPS roll on my SMG (or any automatic weapon for that matter) than Damage to Targets Out of Cover (10%) as an attribute?
I have been wondering this myself.. have a couple SMG and AR that have Rate of Fire attribute, and wondered how it stacks up vs TOOC dmg?
This video made me delete my heartbreaker loadout 😂 didn't even know about the part of losing armor and regaining it.

So, should i run striker chest piece for those 200 stacks, or should i go with smth like a ceska (cc) with obliterate, with perhaps strained on the weapon?

In my experience you never really build up to 200 stacks anyways. Use the one pice bonus for whatever weapon you main and obliterate or glass cannon
So if we dont like using the kingbreaker but we like heartbreaker would something like measured be good to use for the fire rate to make heartbreaker squeeze out some more damage
No, Measured is terrible.
Use a Police M4 with Flatline.

What do you mean by Flatline's value changing based on how many times you crit?
Not it's value, the amount that Flatline will give to DPS.
If I calculate everything as a Crit, Flatlin gives flat 20% increase in DPS.
If I do it again, but only 50% Crit, I get a 17.33% increase.
This is the best analysis I have ever seen of Heartbreaker. I’ve never understood the appeal, but your video confirms that it is because the bonus armor isn’t really something I value with my play-style. Thanks!

Honestly it seems that Heartbreaker is supposed to be a balanced version of OG Striker from Div 1
Run striker chest and backpack with fenris and ceska. Works amazingly.
Grupo outperforms Fenris, Coyotes outperforms Ceska.
As to both Contractors and Fox's.
As mentioned in the video, I too have found that I get no use from Strikers chest, but to me the backpack is a value add. Not sure if the 0.65 to 1.00 increase is better than a backpack talent?
Eh... I'd take Heartbreaker any day. But that's probably the tanker in me.
I'd rather have some survivability than dishing out dmg.
Add the technician's pulse laser attachment, and you're set.
Striker can succeed if you know how to get the stacks fast. A glass cannon if you ask me.
Jesus and here I thought the high end sacrifice 3 piece providence, fox & contractor was preforming way better in terms of comparison.
I also believed the striker backpack was way better than what is shown here.
Strikers backpack is the most powerful piece.
All you need with striker is 1.1 mill armor and 98k damage with your are and good smg and mine is absolutely insane i do heroic solo no problem

How did you come up with this 4.2 number?

Get a weapon, 100% AWD, 15 Weapon damage + 15% from Special. Now add in another 15% AR from Heartbreaker. Catalogue number.
Remove the 15% and add in 1% values of TWD till you get the same outcome. 5% TWD beat 15% AR damage. 4.2% TWD matched it.
@@DodRegnbue Assuming Strikers is calculated as TWD, you are making the claim that AWD is less then 1/3rd an increase then you would get with TWD?
So by your own math, vigilence, which is 25% TWD, equates to more than 75% AWD? Vigilence adds more damage then you would get from 5 red cores at 15% each? So if I were to make a build with 5 blue cores, 1 red core and vigilence, that would be the same damage output as a 6 red core build eithout vigilence?
Deminishing returns play a factor, but not that great of a factor. No where near it. The beauty of mathematics is they make sense from all angles. Your math only makes sense from the angle you present it. That should be a red flag that you are missing key variables.
15% > 10% when it comes to waveforms averaged skill damage vs wyvern
and
15% AR damage > 4.2% damage from HB stacks.

Spotter and Flatline will give a 32.25% multiplier.
Obliterate gives 25%, we only have 7.25% to go.
Considering Srtikers will being doing on average 26% more than Heartbreaker. We can afford this loss.

Interesting, but regarding the Strikers fire rate set bonus, you ignored that 15% increased fire rate means more reloads, which is dps downtime.
It's worth considering.
Relaod is only calculated into Sustained DPS. Being that Sustained DPS takes into acount mag size, RPM, Damage, Reload, pretty much everything on a weapon.
The increase in the RPM has zero negative effect on Sustained, it is still just a flat net increase.

Change the Heartbreaker's backpack and Striker loses, The two additional gearpieces make the difference that the Heartbreaker set is stronger.

I compared the 2 piece, 3 piece, 4 piece, 4 piece with back pack, 4 piece with chest, and then the 4 piece HB chest vs the 4 piece strikers BP.
The only way in which Heart Breaker to catch up to Strikers in terms of DPS, is if the there was a magical way to get a 120% Amp. Not going to happen.
@@DodRegnbueokay i understand you are discussing all the parts from 1 to 4 pieces, but i don't see anywhere an explanation with 4 pieces without Heartbreaker's backpack. It's a great explanation by the way. four pieces of heartbreaker without a backpack does more damage than with a backpack, as I said, it depends on which two you add to get higher numbers. I have the same versions with another backpack and the shooting range does not lie.
a Ceska or Groupo backpack with crit hit chance, crit hit damage, and vigilance is the heartbreaker backpack
