just the 33 !!!! ... im a lazy listener ... and Thriller 33 ... sounds AMAZING already ... and i dont have gear that would make the differences noticible !!!!
In most cases I want the best sounding 45 rpm, but for Thriller I’m staying with the 33 because it’s such a party record. Can’t be stopping the party too many time to flip.
I will only buy the 33rpm from mobile Fidelity when both available (Analogue productions I prefer 33 but will get 45rpm). I still like Mofi (Not the One steps) and am happy with the ones I have. It looks like maybe the flippers have left Mofi, which is good. it's nice to not have to rush to get this stuff.
33rpm is what I am leaning towards more and more. Cuts in half the potential for return because of defects, takes up less room, Cuts in half the number of albums to clean and possibly resleeve, Cost Less and last but not least I do not have to flip the album as often. Having to flip the the album over disrupt the flow of Marvin Gaye's Masterpiece what's going on. Same with Frank Marino and mahogany rush real live. Have to flip the album over during the middle of a 10-minute song , sucks . I have a 45 RPM LP that is only 5 minutes on one side! That is not doable for me. I have another 45 RPM that is 15 minutes on one side and that is tolerable. Albums that run over 40 minutes in length benefit from 45 RPM releases also. Trying to put more than 20 minutes of Music on one side of vinyl can create problems sometimes but I have Miles Davis on the corner album with 25 minutes on one side and 28 minutes on the other Mastered by Kevin gray and sounds fantastic. So I guess in a nutshell 45 RPM for albums that run over 40 minutes. A double 33 RPM album with bonus tracks is what I would prefer. $20 blue note classics vinyl albums have been immensely enjoyable. Clean, flat, centered, no ragged edges or Center hold and virtually perfect sound. I clean all of my albums but some of these did not need cleaned and that is rare.
The Bill Wither's Greatest Hits sounds fantastic! It has a variety of sourcing across the various songs, but each had DSD64 in the chain I believe. I would prefer 33 RPM One Steps!
Bad news is, the record companies will suck your wallet dry. They know people want these so bad, and cursing these companies will mean nothing. As it stands, the music industry remains unfriendly to consumers. If $ is no object, be my guest.
To me, and my ears, and enjoyment,The difference between 45 and 33 isn’t drastic enough to go for the 45 . I have a handful of 45 RPM pressings and don’t play themnearly as often as my others. It’s about enjoying the music.
Tbh I don't think 33 is significant enough a difference from 45 to make any tangible difference on my particular system. However... I'm OCD so I want all my MoFi box sets to look the same on the shelf so I'll wait for the thicker boxes. 😂
The next MoFi One-Step will be Eldorado. I had asked Mofi on Instagram when I was discussing an order, and that is what they told me. I have the 33rpm on Supervinyl and it sounds great, so no One-Step for me.
Hey Nick, nice video, love the MoFi minutes!
Digital source means they can make it forever. Will never be limited.
the record labels would never allow them to make unlimited amounts of those. It's got nothing to do with digital.

@@UberPilot LOL It's not an inferior sound. That's your biased brain telling you that ...not your ears. You can't tell the difference.

@@UberPilot Only in your biased mind and the shootouts are done by analog snobs so you have no substance for that argument. Nice try though.
Hi Nick, great video
Thank you

Prefer dealing with honest labels
I always prefer 33
Any word on Still Bill? In Groove Mike had said he thought it would be “soonish.”
Yeah i think its coming in this wave of restocked titles
40 bucks now is a great deal LOL... gotta love them scalpers, they drive business like nobody else ;)
You got that right.
Dsd transfer is the truest to the original tape you can get if sound quality is what you think is important ..not even a discussion
Gonna buy both like a good little audiophile. Because why not.
You can tell me pros and cons.

Oooo good point.. depends on the title.

Yes. Another interesting item. The supervinyl is a whole other item.
