The first time the public saw a legend. What is shocking how much she sounds like Billie Holiday in this. Its worth listening to the origional and compare the two. I think you would prefer her 3rd song in the competition BANG BANG.You might recognise it from Kill Bill the movie.

Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on UA-cam before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷
In a interview after this performance Angelina's mom was asked why she was crying during her performance?? Were they happy tears??
Mom said; " They were happy tears but they were also sad tears because I know I just lost my daughter to the world. ♥👣👸🏻🎷

That song is referred to as the Hungarian Suicide Song. I believe it was written about the time the Nazi party was starting to get a foothold in Europe. So when the judge asks if she knew what it was about she said a sad Sunday. How she is able to put such emotion into songs that she has so little if any concept of is beyond me.

I am absolutely fascinated that she can sing this. It's so similar to Billie Holiday that it amazes me. I like her choice of songs. Remember it's her choice! No one controls Angelina's music. Her parents were sensible and let Angelina make these choices herself.

This video has a lot more pre- and post-performance content, which are missing in all other UA-cam links for this performance. The NGT 4 video begins a lot like an AGT spotlight would, featuring the singer. While she now has 2 permanent teeth, side-by-side, she's still so small that her feet stick straight off the edge of the bench she sits upon. She talks about her experiences on the show and what she's about to show us. This is followed immediately by her singing "Summertime" in the style of Ella Fitzgerald's and Louis Armstrong's rendition. The third segment of NGT 4 contains the judges speaking to Angelina about the effect she has left each of them with. Many of their comments are quite prophetic, and they are called to mind again and again whenever I hear her sing. Two of these judges appear alongside Angelina in several UA-cam videos, weeks and months after she won.
The final segment of this NGT video contains the naming of the three highest scoring performer(s), and from there, the naming of the victor. This segment runs almost 5 more minutes. At a minimum, I recommend you play the first 3 segments. Then, if you want to see this littlest angel winning the 2014 competition, you would include the last segment.

Angelina was 7 yo in the movie you showed. Today she is 17 yo and still goes to school. She sings and performs when she has time for it. Angelina and her relatives want her to have as normal an upbringing as possible. When Angelina thinks the time is right, she can allow herself to be promoted.

Firstly, Angelina deserves that type of support, and importantly, there have recently been significant changes for reaction channels on UA-cam. It can be difficult to fully appreciate how remarkable this performance is by Angelina if you're not familiar with the song Gloomy Sunday and with Billie Holiday's recording of it. I did not know the song when I first watched Angelina's audition for NGT, and then I listened to Billie Holiday sing Gloomy Sunday and I'm A Fool To want You and over time I realized why these knowledgeable judges were so utterly impressed by her. As the one person said back stage, "She sings jazz like a god."
It's so amazing to see her first moment on the national, then international, stage. It was great to enjoy that with you, Nova!
Allegedly she wanted to go on Norways got talent when she was 5 but was too young.

It is really really really worth it for you to get the video that has all four songs on it. Each one a wonder and it seemed she got better and better with every song. By the time she got to the last song, Summertime, she has just turned 8. I'm not sure what time of year it started so it's hard to know how many months it took for everyone to sing four times. Please do yourself the favor, give yourself the gift, and gift us with your reactions for all four songs!! It is well worth it.
patricia Angelina's audition performance of Gloomy Sunday was around the end of November 2013, when she was 7. The next appearance was the judges' cut when she sang I'm A Fool. This occurred around Feb. 2014; so she was 8. The finals (Summertime) was aired live towards the end of May 2014.
An Angel read my "I'm not sure what time of year etc.. etc.." and came to my aid. Apparently the show started in November 2013, when she sang Gloomy Sunday and by the time Summertime came around it was May 2014, so she was already 8 and about four and a half months old!
