Honestly, Lofton needs to be completely canceled for this situation. I respect Coder and Laura for keeping as much of this off the internet as they did, and it should've stayed off. It was resolved, Coder and Laura broke up, and they are now staying away from each other, and it was buried as it should've been.
Then Lofton comes in with malicious intent and decides to unearth this so that he can be some internet savior. Laura did not want to necessarily want Lofton to release the information, but he did so without consent anyway.
Yes, I understand that Coder and Laura did horrible things to each other, some of which leaned more one way to another, but that happens in a relationship where both partners abuse each other.
Coder and Laura were in the wrong for not handling the relationship properly. Coder's friends were also in the wrong for not intervening to stop Coder from losing his shit. Laura's friends are in the same boat. Should all of them be held accountable? Absolutely not. This shit had already been dealt with behind as many closed doors as it has.
We're human, we make mistakes, but I see calls to cancel Coder because of his shortcomings in this relationship. Should we also cancel Laura too for being abusive to Coder? Should we then cancel the inner friend groups of the individuals who could've properly supported both of them and separated both of them before the real problems began?
No, we shouldn't have to cancel Coder, Laura, and their groups for improperly handling this shitshow. We should not go after Coder due to this, as there is no point in doing so. We should instead go after Lofton for bringing this to light as it should've stayed in the dark. Lofton has always had problems, and this is just one that we can't look away from. We should cancel Lofton, and then we should wait if Coder makes his official public response and see what happens next.

      This 100%
It was sorted between the two of them. They handled it like adults and sorted it behind closed doors despite having an audience. They had moved on and (hopefully) have grown from it to be better people. They both clearly hated it and feel remorseful from the whole ordeal.
People need to stop this parasocial "holier than thou" bullshit and just leave it alone.
People's reaction to all this is what Lofton wanted and congrats. You're all playing into his hand.

Holy shit I see why Coder had to tell his side of his story. This video makes him seem like the worst thing ever when Laura was super toxic as hell and there are witnesses of her hitting Coder and he didnt fucking smother her he just put the pillow to her face for a second to try to get her to lower her voice NOT smother like throw her on the floor and try to suffocate her or some shit.
This is why videos like this are awful when the other side hasnt said their side of the story where Laura makes it seem this was one sided abuse as most toxic women do all the time. Laura made it seem she was the only victim when she abused him physically non stop. Coder DID NOT call the police and never forced her to some psychological ward when that is police protocol. His father did when Coder was crying thinking she was serious as she even made a post saying goodbye to the world with a pic of the street. Also she was provoked him nonstop saying shed run away with a male friend who was constantly flirting with her and she never set boundaries with any male friends and coder literally just had old likes from before their relationship of random instagram girls. He never was actively looking at them later in their relationship and never hung out with females unlike Laura who went out to drink with male friends that would make any man wary especially if one of them has shown to try to get laid with her. Women get to abuse men and when the man yells back its the man is a piece of shit and poor woman got hurt. Please dont disresepect men being vicitims of domestic violence as in relationships like this the one time a man gets semi physical he is seen as the worst and the woman like Laura who punched his throat, slammed a door on his hand, punched him in the chest and slapped him with him not resisting is not domestic abuse apparently?!
At the end of the day BOTH were in the wrong. BOTH were toxic abusers BUT Coder was never physically abusive that is a lie unlike Laura who punched him in the throat and slammed doors on his hands. Both were controlling and jealous as Laura had him take nonstop pictures of where he was at and would stalk his social media and confuse old likes of random instagram girls for new ones. She would threaten him constanlty with implied cheating on him with the guy that was nonstop around her. That "guy" friend that girls SWEAR theyd never do anything with. Im not saying Coder is some saint. He was an asshole but Laura was just as bad if not worse who twists events to make it seem worse than it is.
People please learn to hear both sides. There are witnesses to her toxic behavior so this isnt anedoctal shit from Coder. Legit witnesses that can vouch how toxic and manipulative she was and he responded in kind unfortunately. But I hate this notion he beat her and smothered her with a pillow when that is not the case. Ive seen toxic relationships. Ive had a brother I lived with who let his girl hit him all the time over small shit she got randomly mad at. One day he literally just grabbed her arm to stop her punch and she screamed bloody mary he was abusing her even though he had scars from her abuse. He immediately was seen as the bad guy and no one believed him he literally just grabbed her arm to stop her punch once
Coder and Laura have moved on from this shit and this is in the past. People act like they wouldnt snap at someone like Laura yelling at you, punching you, gas lighting you, threatening to cheat on you or threaten to do OF to manipulate you. Im surprised Coder took 3 years of that because I would have been dipped. I wrote all this shit that will be probably ignored by simping white knights who believe woman are not toxic when theyve never seen women like that but you live with one and youll see how good they are at being the victim and exaggerating things as their PoV theyre the victim and never did wrong. Always listen to BOTH sides. Glad people here arent judges because yall would give people death sentences for stopping a punch or a kick from a women.

While I agree with everything you said here, I was under the impression Coder has went physical before. You could say it was only after she did so it was in self defense by then, but you probably still shouldn't do that to someone you're supposed to be caring about.

So let me get this straight.
Laura admits to being toxic and physical, there's a VOD of her blaming herself for everything. Coder makes a statement saying he admits to being toxic and physical and regrets everything. They're no longer together.
So whats the issue here? This is two people that shouldn't be together realizing they shouldn't be together.
You can't blame Laura for feeling awful enough to want to hurt herself. You can't blame Coder for wanting to make sure she's fine in that situation - anyone would do the same for anyone else, especially someone they knew or once knew.
They're both people that have made big mistakes and they're both working out how to get through it. The only issue I see here is that they're both getting flak from a certain someone making this public, and the only true "wrong" committed here that hasn't been sorted out in private is the fact that this even went public, especially so far after the fact.
There was no good reason to make this public. No one that cares for either of their wellbeings would spread this. But it's now been spread, and now we have to deal with that. You can't un-reveal information.

Coder has shown several times he has anger issues. Not really only in his relationship with Laura but he's thrown strays at people that were not even trying to be hurtful towards him.
I might be misremebering the situation context wise, but during a stream during the dkayed situation that got him banned to begin with I remember farfa being in chat and saying something mundane, to which Kevin responded to with: "You're just gonna fucking react to this on your channel after it's all done." or something along those lines, yelling and implying farfa was not there to be helpful or friendly towards him.
His character (the raging at ygo, etc) sure has seen some exaggeration on stream, but the guy clearly has issues with controlling his aggression, specially with people he seems to be close with. During his subathon I clearly remember that he also was arguing with Laura at some point on screen, mics on. It wasn't an argument that escalated to the degree shown in screenshots or the ones described by both parties, but if that's how he has behaved on camera, fuck, man... I cannot begin to imagine how he was in fucking private. He needs help and he needs to be away for a while before he says or does something tha the regrets more than just tarnishing his online career.

Going off the information YOU provided, Laura said she was going to kill herself, while drunk, and Coder called the police. Did Coder know 100% she wasn't going to do this? Did her friends she was with contact Coder to even say "fuck off she's fine she's with us" or something? If not, then why shouldnt he call the police? Just because someone hasn't threatened self harm in the past doesn't mean you shouldn't take as threat of it seriously.
Imagine if she did do what she threatened to do. Then the story would have been "She told Coder what she was going to do and he didn't even care enough to report it and try to stop it".

This. I'm not going to defend coder's actions (as it's undoubtedly messed up), but I've been in a relationship similar to this (not as extreme, but yes, I was emotionally abusive), and I believe him when he says that there was abuse on both sides.
Unrelated to my relationship, I've been admitted to a psych ward "against my will" for the same reason that Laura was. That video she took was at the hospital, before going to the psych ward. As Stevie said himself, she had no cell access there, which is true, they basically hold certain belongings from you (like cell phones) while you're there. I can imagine if I were in her scenario and wanted to paint a bad picture of what had happened, it would have been very easy to do so. In regards to the audio of the elderly person at the hospital... I mean I've been to the hospital before and heard people in severe pain, that doesn't mean they're being neglected. When you're taken to the hospital for the reason that she was, you stay there at MOST overnight, then you're taken to the psych ward, where they generally care for you pretty well. I do not believe the claim that they were drawing blood from her every hour. In a psych ward you have your blood drawn once a day, and the patients are basically called in small groups to have their blood tested (likely one group per hour, based on her claims). It's easy to paint this as some horrific thing, but it's done for the patients' safety (as many of them have drug problems). So... idk, just wanted to share my personal experience for perspective. Hopefully Stevie sees this reply (or anyone for that matter)

She didn't answer a single call and he couldn't reach her. Also she wasn't with friends. She was on her own hanging out with people at that bar and had constantly hung out with "guy" friends at bars by herself where if Coder had done that he'd been seen as a womanizer. No man is going to be okay with their women getting drunk with men who have actively tried to get with their girlfriend. Anyways she also made a social media post saying Bye and a picture of the street insuinating she was serious on her threat which made Coder freak out BUT his father called the police on his own against Coders wishes as Coder wasn't sure what to do. Also police protocol puts you in a ward when you threaten sucidie and she must have visibly shown signs of being unstable if they treated her that rough with treatments. They wouldn't have treated her if she was chill and admitted it was all a ruse to make her boyfriend scared and they'd chalked it up to some dumb GF but she clearly must have been belligerent for them to take caution. People act like Coder told the cops to throw her in there when she brought that on herself on threaten something you SHOULD NEVER do to anyone. Yes... he actually did the right thing by alerting the professionals/ emergency service to check up on her. Did he know that she's going to be in a shit psychward? No. Was he responsible for the state of the psychiatric ward to any capacity? Also no. So to say that he's close to solely responsible for this part is flat out wrong and shows way to much bias against him. Again I'm still agreeing with the statement that he is a narcissistic, anger filled controll freak that need to better him self but both of them are at fault in this toxic relationship. Instead of saying that Coder needs to leave this space for good you only should need to say that he needs to better him self as a person under any circumstances. So yeah in summary: both of them were toxic lovers and we all just hope that they better them self. Learn the mistakes and move on. Oh yeah and fuck lofton.

THANK YOU! I have a bad habit of doom scrolling comment sections for no reason, and I'm shocked how many people have failed to notice many instances of Stevie being biased against Coder, and just want Coder removed from the community no questions asked. Again, Coder did fuck up, but it sounds like Laura was just as bad. I've had exe's that would think of oofing themselves a lot, and it really pushed my mental health. So I say in the circumstances, Coder made the best call that he made this entire relationship. I myself self reflect regularly and am still learning many things about myself. So for what it sounds, Laura and Coder are gonna need a lot of self reflection and therapist to help them try to be better people. And all this was dealt with in private, but Lofton just wanted the last laugh, so he just wanted to be petty and just created the shitshow, which even gave enough public knowledge of the situation for a video to even be made. So I agree, fuck lofton.

Both Laura and Kevin were terrible to each other. However, Coder is a hypocrite for being outspoken against certain yugioh players but has his own skeletons in his closet related to abuse that he was a part of. Sexual, emotional, psychological, and physical abuse - the implications of any type of abuse can be dire consequences for victims because of the trauma that is attached it and there is a large spectrum on how someone experiences/deals with traumatic events. Moreover, the whole pillow thing in itself is so pathological in nature because of its implications., even if it was for 1 second or there was immediate regret. The fact that Coder prevented Laura from receiving coaching from Pak is telling of how pervasive his mental health was at the time.
However, Laura appears to have also been extremely abusive too, as she admits to being "toxic" and there were talks amongst both being physcial, throwing the phone and hurting Kevin, slapping, and punching in the throat. This should be well prefaced because of the stigma related to violence of women towards men in relationships. Both were in a co-dependent, trauma-bonding-like cyclical relationship. Based on both streams, both were abusive, insecure, controlling, manipulative, coercive, selfish, and appear to be liars (e.g., minimizing their part or conveniently leaving out information[not that they owe us any information]) based on both of their sides explaining their side of the story. I hope they both can get help because they need it.

in the grand scheme of the situation, Laura seemed to be a huge gaslighter and put alot of stress on Coder, obviously that doesn't make his behavior warranted. But when someone is under that amount of stress constantly, his reaction is honestly EXTREMELY tame. My mom is the same way to my dad and she was the same way to her other 4 ex husbands. She would constantly berrate them and belittle them, going for personal attacks. Then one day they would snap and beat the shit out of her. Obviously, beating the shit out of her is not the right thing. But none of them never went to jail as they all proved that she was manipulating them and gaslighting them into a fit of rage.

I only watched the very beginning but it seems to me like he's biased towards coder bein the bad guy, he said while "coder was screaming in her face" several times while trying to minimize any time the chick hit him by providing a context that "she was just frustrated?" All the while tge screenshot he kept on screen has nothing to do with what he is describing and it's about 2 other people talking about coder. News flash when people have a break up especially if it's a nasty one people have a tendency to shit talk their Ex to drum up sympathy points for themselves

The reason that’s it’s not neutral is that he’s friends with Lauren. Any admission of her doing wrong would likely make her turn on him. The only way to get all the information is to go through all the screenshots and VODs yourself.
It seems though that many are trying to compare the actions to either justify what Laura did, or ignore it outright by saying what coder did was worse.
At the end of the day, what is clear, is that they were both toxic and abusive individuals who should never have been together.

@@andrejv.2834you’d be surprised, speaking Ill of Laura for her actions will get you seen as a coder meatrider, or whatever other term they fancy saying.
There’s also others who chime in saying ‘but coder was worse’ when they talk about Laura’s actions.
Ultimately how much they did doesn’t really matter in the context of saying that Laura is an abuser.
There is no threshold that needs to be met to be labelled an abuser, yet people have been acting as if there is.
It’s like if you were to compare 2 killers, one killed 5, the other 10. Yes on killer killed more people, sure, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have issue with the other. It doesn’t mean that we should treat what they did as fine or negligible just because someone else did ‘more’.
Coder has rightfully stepped away and sought help.
Lauren, aside from the VOD, has generally been acting as if she was just a victim and had done no wrong. As far as I’m aware at least, she hasn’t sought help for her behaviour.
Yes what Laura went through was horrible.

Also wasn't laura already getting help? I think i saw that somewhere but I could be misremembering
And not trying to defend her, but I from what we heard I think the only action she did bad on her own without being provoked by coder (not saying that slapping, closing a door on his hand or throwing his phone were warranted) was yelling, as she says she used to yell a lot at him too early on, but stopped when both of them found out coder had anxiety, and being yelled at probably didn't help with not only that but also his insecurities

Also, being controlling of a woman's outfits and saying that she's "wearing it to get the attention of men" is also misogynistic. While from the context of the video I tend to agree with most of this, they’re both awful people who abused each other to maybe not equal but comparable amounts, the part about the pictures is a bit stupid, early on in the video Stevie mentions that coder was LITERALLY HIDING TEXTS from Laura, while coder actively acted like an insecure man baby when it came to how she dressed consistently. Coder wasn’t just “pointing out what she was wearing” he has shown a history of berating her based off what she wears despite the fact that he himself was being shady af with another woman. That’s insanity he also clearly gets super insecure around other men based on what Laura has said, so with the context to say he’s right about the pics feels a bit dishonest

And saying he’s completely right about the clothes and picture she takes would be dishonest. Hes sometimes right. And other times he’s just being insane. But I feel like from what we see- he right most of the time. She is literally pushing her butt out towards the camera while wearing tight pants like…that’s on purpose. But her flexing for the camera in literally normal gym clothes showing a progress photo is just…normal
Again I think they are both doing in the wrong and for now I GUESS coders in the wrong more. I mean he for sure did way more but at the same time I’m sure Laura left out the bad stuff she did and she did stuff first so- we’ll see who’s more in wrong later. For now they both wrong

Anyway I will comment on one thing I found odd in this video, Laura saying "I wish I wasn't good looking so I don't get attention" in response to Coder criticizing her instagram pics....I'm sorry what kind of response is that? she could've said "fine I'll delete all my photos" or "I'll stop posting pics of myself on my insta, is that what you want???" which would've made more sense, it doesn't matter if she'd do it, it's just a better response because obviously Coder's problem isn't that she's good looking, it's that she posts pics of herself there
Second thing is, I'm sorry but that ass picture celebrating "her defeating anorexia" is just bs, no one in their right mind would believe that that picture isn't purely to get attention....like come ON
She strikes me as an attention seeker....they both seem to be unlikeble people for different reasons
