- I took this trip to bring myself back to the beauty of what fishing truly is. Exploring, being happy with the little things and smiling the whole time. This adventure wasn’t special because I landed my new biggest river smallie, but it was special because it sparked that little kid in me that got into Fishjng for these reasons exactly. I find it more and more important to keep fishing simple like it is in its essence. Like with anything I find that the meaning can be lost if it’s not recognized and truly appreciated. That’s what this trip was for me. Big fish are coming but it will happen naturally just like everything else in the environment around me.

You can find some decent holdovers scattered in the north branch and the smallmouth are fun once it gets warm especially if you float a kayak around. Fished this area for a long time!

The ned rig is usually my go to for getting that first fish. After that I make decisions on if I want to size up on lures or not. Great video 👍 ready for the next 🤙

I'm in Bburg too. The bridge he was at where he hooked on is in the town north of us. I don't want to give it away to the world, but if you're from Bburg you'll know these points: draw a straight line from Zeus through Birdland to the driving range, and continue it into the next town, and that line will go right across that bridge. Great spot to fish, but that's all private land back there.
