The fact that you literally USED SHAZAM TO PROVE HOW WELL THE REMAKE WAS, is actually crazy. Well done. Probably the most accurate remake you’ve made to date.
honestly the new standard of testing how accurate your remake is should be by using shazam to see if it recognizes it (depending on the song your remaking ofc)

My friend who worked for Kanye was in the hotel suite that was the studio during the recording of this song in Paris told me the story about how this song was made. He said he had recently downloaded the Akai app onto his iPad and was asking Mike Dean to show him how to sample with it. At the same time Kanye is working on the N.I.P. beat and Jay-z is freestyling over it while the Bulls Vs Heat (D Rose vs LeBron) playoff series is on the TV (which is what inspired Jay mentions D Rose in his verse). As Mike Dean is showing my friend how to sample on the iPad he randomly records Jay saying "ball so hard" and then demonstrates how the recording is now on the mpc pads by repeatedly pushing the pad on the iPad. Kanye hears that and basically makes it the "hook".
I remember when people kept spreading the fact that the vocal said "We killed Tupac" in the buildup-vocal. I'm glad that you clarified where it's originally from!

2:40 I’m glad you clarified this because the second you pitched it down, my immediate thought was, “Ok, why didn’t you just play it an octave lower?” Lol Also, I loved Shazamming my remakes back when I made them. It was always really cool to see that I made it close enough for AI to detect it. The thing about that though is that if Shazam can detect it, it’s definitely gonna be picked up by the UA-cam copyright system. So basically everything is flagged the second it gets uploaded
Lot of times when you play samples an octave lower the problem is that it messes with where the instruments hit in relation to the drums. You're better off making a copy of the original sample and pitching it down.
