He talks about ball position, a big turn, and feeling like you're just brushing that grass to ensuring you hit it pure every time.

The tip about him thinking of brushing the turf all the way through his swing is the biggest tip. One focus. One objective.
one of the, if not the, prettiest swing in golf
My guy just killing it one take ⚡
A beautiful flat, green fairway always helps the cause.😮
Tommy F is the reason I bought a 7 wood two years ago.
Loved the tip. I have been playing the fairway woods about 3/4 up in my stance, with mixed results. I’ll move it forward a bit more and see if it helps with consistency.
Here’s hoping Tommy finally breaks through with a PGA win this year. I have a good feeling about it, and possibly even a major. Go get en Tommy!!!
Take a fewpractice swings and see where you contact the grass
He’s a choke king
Best way to find ball position is to take relaxed practice swings and just find where the club bottoms out.
Pretty good Tommy? The bloody ball didn't deviate a millimetre Tommy. Your a ⭐️
I just wanted to congratulate Tommy on his olympic performance last week. What a champ! 🤩
"That was pretty good" if I hit that shot I'd be high fiving the whole crew😂
I was setting up that way (forward, almost where I set up for driver) and hit fat. Brought it back where I play a 3 or 4 iron and started hitting fairway woods a bit better.
Everyone works differently.
I do all of that except the contact, distance and direction.
Same. Oh, and the result, which usually the ball goes sideways at 45 degrees into unplayable bushes.
The tip about him thinking of brushing the turf all the way through his swing is the
I started golfing 9 months ago. But, I have a launch monitor, and a net, so I hit hundreds of balls every day at my house.
I can hit ALL my irons & hybrid, and I can hit driver, because you're either hitting DOWN on the ball, or UP ON IT, and it makes SENSE in my MIND.
But, trying to brush the ground is hard.
Interesting he grips down for more control. It certainly helps if the ball is sitting up on a flat lie. The rescue hybrid is more versatile for difficult lies...
If I'd known it was that easy!
Somewhere there's a video of tiger talking about taking a divot with a wood. Can't find it again but it was a good one
Wait, what? I do ALL of those things with my 3-Wood but I shank the ball 110% of the time and best distance is 19 Yards. I guess I need to keep practicing :-)
Yeah you can shank it further than that
Hi T.F I never could hit a 3w But I have the ROGUE 3w and while I hit it rather well could you tell me why I do this. When I hit it, it starts going up straight and near end of flight starts not a lot to drift right , so I aim now left ish result
OK best shot hit was 2nd par 5 Doncaster gc one with emblem Castle.. I usually reach 200ish with this but I hit it harder direction went the same but 240 yds I had birdie . I will watch your video maybe sign up.
Pure 💪🏻⛳️🏌🏼
Am I an idiot? Does his ball position look significantly farther up in his stance at the 1:07 wide shot than it does at the 1:13 tight shot? Is it camera positioning?
Seconded (ball position, not the bit about your erroneous thought of idiocy!).
I think it's just camera angle, it seems the shot they cut to is almost immediately after the previous shot, so I'd guess it's an illusion from the lens being at an angle. It looks like it's still inside his left heel at the 1:07 shot.
use what it shows at 1:11
Yes. it's not a good video. Hard to tell where the ball is in his stance, as you point out.
Tommy talks about "stock shot" in setup.. that is usually a clubhead inside of your lead heal.. but he also said in his setup he didn't want to move the ball position too much because the concept is to not take a divot but not hit behind it like the driver's AOA.. instead to brush the ground.. since there are so many variables i.e. our height, arm length, club radius etc.. you have to practice and observe where exactly that stock ball position is to achieve the best strike thru impact for your particular swing.. and then understand and detect when the course changes those variables and adapt to the changes.. welcome to Golf 101 :D
Best fairway metal player in the game
I know pros are at a level most of us can only dream about (actually i dream of just hitting the fairway 50% of the time lol) but i still get amazed how just one shot on camera while describing the shot goes dead straight with perfect flight ….when id be having an excellent round if i hit that shot 3 out of 10 times 😬🤷🏼♂️
Thanks Tommy!
What’s the optimum apex with fairway woods?
Depends on speed. More speed = more height. But chs should be around an optimized apex. 90mph ~ 90ft
Tour players hit every club around the same apex, ~100ft
What a guy
HI AGAIN T,F, I NOTICE YOUR STANCE LOOKS WIDE LIKE DRIVER STANCE , SO DO YOU COME IN NEARER THE BALL , NICE SHOT. PAUL
How does he make the ball fall so slowly and gently onto the green?? I can’t figure out how to do that
Because he's about 1000% better than we'll ever be.
what's the name of tommy's shoe? release date??
And then there's that unspoken bit at the end...you need to be Tommy Fleetwood.
Ya, you can't hit it like Tommy but you can have the swing thought
This is the most important part.
Or you jot down his tips and practice more until you reach YOUR potential. 🏌🏿♂️
😊😁😎
hitting woods off tight lies is one of the hardest clubs to hit for me
I wish he could expand on what he meant by, “keeping my levels”
Keeping himself balanced. No leaning back during the downswing
As Lee Westwood once said keep your head on a shelf and just turn Simples🤷🏽♂️
He is hitting on a real flat fairway, where you can brush the grass. The problem is most fairways are not flat . It’s harder to hit fairway clubs .
You need to try playing on golf courses and not ploughed fields...
Straight as an arrow.
Interesting that he grips down on everything. I wonder how common that is among tour players.
Yeah, easy.. Got it.
Grip down on everything? Can i ask why you do this?
Are your hands ahead of the ball? Can’t tell.
So easy, just hip turn and swing. Can't believe you guys have trouble with it really.
once he can get it straightened out a little bit he will probably be ok
Ok Tommy don’t do me wrong now
Alright Tommy.
I think all those exact same thoughts,.........then duff it 50 yards along the ground.
Tg
No
"That was pretty good"....Say no more.
Brilliant Tommy but perhaps you could politely speak to the powers at TaylorMade as their customer service is absolutely abysmal 😡 And after about a month Still not resolved 😡
Anybody could do that off that lie
That's why you're on the tour earning millions.
