SO glad I watched this video. I just ordered my Winston the Wolf kit and am anxiously awaiting it. I was hoping maybe you had done him but it helps to know what you learned from the Fox. Good to know about the wire!!!! I have some 22 gauge cloth covered wire that I will use instead of what comes in the box. Thanks for the great video!
That came out beautifully, you have the absolute best supplies for needle filters in the UK, there is nothing like World of Wool here in the US. Thank you for sharing the websites, maybe they will ship to New York for me!!
I have several kits coming from WOW. I think they should’ve used a top coat type wool for the fur. Looks a bit difficult to work with. Beautiful job though!
I completed Fabian. I thought the same thing about the wire being to thin . I used pip cleaner to strengthen the armature. But I didn't do it all the way down the legs. The legs are very thin on a Fox..... Here's a hint: To stiffen the legs. I use white glue thinned with water. Then I put this into a needle (large from a pet supply store) and syringe. I them inject this into the wire legs. Fill until it can be seen barely seeping out. The glue will dry clear. I also agree that more core wool is needed. To make this stand, it needs to be felted firm. To me the directions are lacking steps and feel this is not for the very beginner.
That's such a great trick for the legs, I've never even thought of that, thanks. The wire really wasn't strong enough especially for a beginner, I also would have chosen a different wool for the coat. However I'm glad I tried him, hopefully Sheldon sheep will be more me, thanks for watching and a great tip x
A needle felting machine, speeds up your work, I'm still testing it and need to give it a good month before I can do a fair report, liking it so far but it's quite scary using it! X
Hey, I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make a manatee? Its my friends favorite animal and when I get my first felting kit I wanna try to make one and give it to her when we meet up, but its completly fine if you decide not to! Just a suggestion :)
Thanks so much, I've quite a list of things but it's a lovely animal, it won't be for a while as I have commissions till June, give it a go and see how you do, have lots of pictures of a real one to hand as well, thanks so much x
