I tried the magnets and they would stay for the most part they did move as it’s a lateral surface. I used a 3M adhesive with a sub straight and it works great. I love the lights.
First of all I love watching all your mod videos and the abundance of information posted with each one. I installed this setup on my 2018 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7L. Love all the considerations, split light to allow access to the spare tire spot. I mounted mine with the MIKEDE Neodymium whole magnets, 1.26 inch D x 0.2 inch H Rare Earth Magnets as well because I was not a big fan of drilling holes. The only issue I ran into was that the magnets pushed out the light bar just far enough that when my tailgate is down it pinches the light bar because of the clearance between the tailgate and where the bar mounts. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
@@dmr6682 can you adjust the light bars up or down so the tail gate doesn’t hit? Mine is still in location as it was in the video and doesn’t hit, if that helps.
@ Thanks for the quick reply. My only option right now is to move it down but then the bottom led strip goes below the small trim strip. I’ll let you know what I come up with. If the magnet was a fraction thinner it might do.
Great video my friend 👍 I really like these and want to use magnets too. Question 👇🏻 I’m getting ready to tow my camper to create content for my channel. I wonder if there will be any issues using the 4 pin while I’m plugged into the 7 pin? 2021 crew max limited 4x2. Sarasota Tim 😎
I have used a CURT T-Harness on just about every vehicle I have. It plugs in between the seven pin on your bumper and provides an extra four pin for accessories etc. I don't see why it would interfere but test it first.
I just used little tapered screws and nylon threaded lock nuts. The magnets are counter-sunk for screws. Works great and would take some real work for someone to steal it, those magnets are strong. Thanks for watching.
I have the same bumper rear bumper i see your led back up light are red did you get it like that? Mine or white and really bright backing up. Also like the magnets but thinking of using double side tape hope thats a good idea, Thanks
The magnets don’t budge. I actually put red lens covers on my RC bumper lights. There is a link under the video in the description. Thanks for watching.
Yes, I'm actually going to replace them soon with some Black ones I have found. They are very strong magnets so you have to be careful not to get your fingers pinched when handling them.
I could hide it if I used a T-Harness behind the seven-pin, but trying not to do that. I also thought about splicing but the wires are too thin coming off the new light. It could be done though. Thanks for watching.
@@BGODR curt makes a wire harness that is plug and play. YOu can buy the harness run wires behind the bumper and not mess with the oem harness to splice in the reverse leds too. That's what is suggest doing.
Just ordered my light. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for watching, I love this light.
Very nice! I like how it's a easy plug and play. Thanks great mod!
Plug n play is always the best.
I like idea with the magnets 💯👍
Hasn't moved at all and works great.

Great video! Seems simple enough.
Very easy to mount, especially using magnets.
Very Nice. Those lights looks AWESOME
Thank you, they do a great job, super bright.
Nice video, thanks for posting it.!
Thank you
Which Magnets did you buy? Do you have a link thanks?
I used these, but caution they are very strong and can pinch your finger. Happened to me. LOL amzn.to/3WdRu3z
Thank you.

Doe your tailgate led strip flash when the truck is off
I believe it does if I put my foot on the brake or lock the truck.

Mind sharing more info on your tail lights? Love them.
I have a video on those as well, but here’s a link to the tail lights. amzn.to/3RYwBYE thanks for watching.
Awesome video.. One question is how to attach magnets to tailgate lights
I just used little tapered screws and nylon threaded lock nuts. The magnets are counter-sunk for screws. Works great and would take some real work for someone to steal it, those magnets are strong. Thanks for watching.

When I click on the magnet link there’s 3 size option. Which ones did you use?
It is the A1 size 32x5mm. Thanks for watching and they are still holding strong. If you search around you can even find black ones.
Could you provide the link to the magnets you used for this installation? Thanks!

did you have trouble with tailgate hitting light bar when opening gate. some people said their tailgate was hitting it nice job
Not at all, plenty of room to open tailgate where I have the lights positioned, even with magnets bolted on. Thanks for asking.
Where did this come from and the brand

Anybody know if this tail light gate is legal in Massachusetts?
