Still can't comprehend that Helix has the same amount of inversions as something like Viper or Scream at SFMM. This ride makes it look so seamless to have that amount, which goes to show on how fantastic of a layout Helix has. It's towards the top of my roller coaster bucket list for sure.
Who doesn't love losing all your speed while climbing a straight-line hill right into a tiny loop a hundred feet in the air and now for the rest of your life your neck hurts before it rains
One of the best things about Helix, and something I find that not many people mention is how the final inline twist is lined up perfectly with the ferris wheel. As you rotate your eyeline follows the circumference of the wheel perfectly, whether that was intentional or not it's such a nice touch.
Mack fixed the restraint problem on Ride to Happiness. Once the restraints lock, they physically cannot lower during the ride which I’ve heard helps a lot. I should be riding it next year so I’ll see how it is.
@@AirtimeThrills I ridden RTH this year and yes when the train go out of the station the lapbar lock itself and it felt like it even go up from few millimeters. Its really comfortable and it let you much space during the ride than the other macks thrill coaster ive ridden. As a french enthusiast i have ridden alpina blitz a lot and the lap bar on it is much more tight and come down in the hollows and you cant enjoy airtimes as much as you could on intamins for example. Mack have done an incredible job with RTH and its personnaly my top 1 at the moment. I wish that my english is understandable 😄 good video as always and keep it up !
That last airtime Hill is my favourite Airtime Moment in Europe. The View, the sustained airtime in every row, how it drops down the hillside, its so good.
The roughness in row 2 is quite interesting. I recently rode manta at swsd and all but one of my rides were in the front, but in row 2 I noticed a major rattle
I think there was a main rattle on train No 3, recently when i was there last august and september 1 the third train was removed, probably because of the rattles@@AirtimeThrills
Helix is my all time favourite roller coaster, it’s tied with Ride to Happiness at the number 1 spot. Maybe it’s just the way that I’m built but I consider Mack restraints to be some of my favourites of all time, up there with the newer Intamin lap bars and B&M clamshells. For me even if I do get stapled by the ride operator the positioning of the lap bar on my legs still means that during the airtime moments I leave my seat.
In the day it looks like a number of the recent installations from top manufacturers - good but not super unique. At night it goes to a way different level - like off the charts ridiculous. Those on-board lights are great attention to detail.
fair assessment. i saw the launches and rattle appearing on the negatives list, and predicted the queue maze as well. i got an 8 ride night ERT on this on my birthday, and it was stunning. it even managed to move ahead of velocicoaster into my #2 spot out of 88 credits. just a quick side note, mack has sorted out the lap bars coming down during the ride with ride to happiness. before the trains depart the station, they have a second lock like the gerstlauer OSTRs so they don’t come down further during the ride. coincidentally, RtH is my #1 meaning i currently have a mack 1-2
Have ridden it and I agree with everything you said, although I don’t remember the rattle in the front. Mack restraints are great, but Intamin’s are indeed better. I believe the ones on Extreme Spinners don’t come down where they do on others. If Mack could fix that and make a just a little less bulky, they would have a winner on their hands.
Ive been living in Gothenburg my whole life, so I am biased ofc. Ive even worked at Liseberg for 3 years. But I remember When helix was finished, and my first ride. The suspense and them having a minigame in the queue? Like it was an experience in itself. Like a queue being interesting??? Shouldn't make sense. It's still one if my favourite rides in the amusement park. Among with Loke
While the launchers may be disappointing, I dont think it is a bad experience, them being weak make the ride just a very smooth and fast experience. It is overal a very smooth ride, which is not bad by any means.
Personally I adore Mack lap bars, I have never been stapled by then to a painful extent but i tend to find them rather comfortable and freeing. And the coaster itself ranks in my number 5/281 only beaten by ride to happiness, Taron, Hyperion, and Zadra.
The reason you dont feel the restraint comming down too hard on Time Traveler is because it simply isn't. The restraints on these trains lock the position they're in after the dispatch. It's not possible to staple you during the ride. I really appriciate that. Espacially on Ride to Happiness, cause RTH has so much more and stronger positives than Time Traveler, with the normal mack stapling it would not be comfortable anymore. I hope Mack includes this restraint lock system on their other coasters too in the future. The other benefit of it is that you can get so much room. If you once ride Ride to Happiness, get yourself as much room as possible. It will be even more redicilous than it already is😂🙌🏼
@@AirtimeThrills I think it has to do with the locking System itself. The restraints on Time Traveler and Ride to Happiness come down atomaticly when the ride op presses a Button. Then they press again and it tights itself. When the ride op dispatches, the restraints release a bit again and lock into position. So I think this locking System has to do with the atomaticly closing restraints. And these are obviously very expensive. So I think that's why all the other macks don't have this nice locking thing. We will see, maybe one day a Park want the self locking System on the normal trains, I think then it would be the same as on TT and RTH.
One of my favs, I’m always disappointed when people talk down on it because of the launches. One of the most pure fun rides in the world with probably the best terrain use of any steel coaster
Its amongst the best of Europe. Helix is very different to other coasters in my opinion and therefore Kind of hard to rank. For my it sits on #8 right under the European Intamin Hypers/Megas and certain other mack coasters, right above most RMCs and B&Ms
Pantheon loses in nearly every single comparison IMO. Helix has better theming, better forces, a better layout by far, is more scenic, and is a full length coaster.
Not a big fan of mack launchers cause they do nothing and Helix is the worst of them all. The rest of the coaster is ok for me but its a bit to tame overall to be really in my top favorites so around the top 30 sport for pretty differnt reasons for me to i guess maybr a top 10 spot for europe defently not Top 5. But after that it sort of all comes close so it could be nr 7 to nr 15 in europe. But probable more closer to the nr 7 spot.
They poured €23 million into it and couldn’t come up with a better name than helix? that would be like if I bought a Sky Rocket 2 and just called it Roll, or got a B&M Giga and called it Hills
In a few weeks im going to Lagoon with my friends and i think it would be really cool to do a vlog of it! A bunch of coaster enthusiasts are coming and meeting there at noon so all coaster enthusiasts are invited we want everyone to come!!!
Let me guess this ride is either rough or theres a "rattle". Lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you g.p. guys are hilarious. Never fails 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

helix looks like an absolutely incredible terrain coaster and really hoping you will get a ride on ride to happiness since people rave it

Ive heard about these but never seen one. Never met a lapbar that doesn't come down during the ride
@@AirtimeThrillswhat about the new gen intamins?
Didnt take them like 20 years

Helix is on my bucket list
Ok
Its verk fun to go on
I only got one ride on helix, but it was insane. The pov doesn’t give that inverted top hat at the end justice. 10/10 ride
Riding this again in under 24 hours! Personally adore the thing and can't wait 🎉
That last airtime Hill is my favourite Airtime Moment in Europe. The View, the sustained airtime in every row, how it drops down the hillside, its so good.
This ride looks so awesome. Top 5 bucket list for me
The end is more magical than you said, look at the angle and the ferris wheel - now you see how thoughtful they placed the end!
That station music is just so iconic, everyone in the coaster community is always talking about it.
That last ejector hill was my favorite part of the ride too, amazing sustained ejector!
I can't wait to see your year end top 50 rankings and how much they change after this Europe trip.
Can't wait to see this year's top 50 videos
The roughness in row 2 is quite interesting. I recently rode manta at swsd and all but one of my rides were in the front, but in row 2 I noticed a major rattle
Hmmm may be a pattern

It’s my favorite rollercoaster in my favorite park. I’m so glad Liseberg just happens to be the park that’s the closest to where I live
Helix does look really good for a Mack especially with the view of Liseberg from the top of the hill
Great review, we loved Helix but struggled to rank it, dropped in at #45 again due to Mack restraints. (Ride To Happiness is the exception)
The new star fall chasers Mack at epic universe looks dope.
1:06 Speaking of music, you should absolutely do a video on your top 10 roller coaster soundtracks
In the day it looks like a number of the recent installations from top manufacturers - good but not super unique. At night it goes to a way different level - like off the charts ridiculous. Those on-board lights are great attention to detail.
I laugh every time Chris says "yonk" lol
Like the German pronunciation of yank

Video idea: Best magnetic launches in North America
Before the video, I was like lower than most RMC's so between 25 and 30. Nailed it :P
I am most intrigued by the use of terrain on Helix.

true
The music slams
you should do best and worst visually appealing rollercoasters, take in color scheme, theming, and queue for your choices, I think that'll be sick.
Personally I adore Mack lap bars, I have never been stapled by then to a painful extent but i tend to find them rather comfortable and freeing. And the coaster itself ranks in my number 5/281 only beaten by ride to happiness, Taron, Hyperion, and Zadra.
Best station music is Superman: Escape From Krypton and I don't see how anything could ever beat it.
I'd cry if they weren't blasting the music in the station. That music is way better than it has any right to be 😂
When you said where does it rank, I actually predicted #27. So close
Best coaster in Sweden, IMHO

What do mean "Norwegian loop?" Liseberg is in Sweden.
Nice
Norwegian loop in Sweden?
i was there at winter and it was closed down😢
I just flew to copenhagen on a Airbus a350
We're very impressed.
better than VC ?
I kind of think maybe the launches on this ride aren't meant to be crazy good punchy launches and they are there to get through the layout.
Helix lowkey looks like a better version of Copperhead Strike
We just not going to talk about the fact that Helix does not in fact have a helix in the layout?
Helix was soo fun but the line is very long
