I know me too. One of mine Mexican Fan Palm Fronds are all folded over like it’s about fall to the ground. It’s about 35 or 40 feet high. Hopefully it comes back! I’m here in Dallas also.
I live in the foothills of NC, right at/over the zone edge for Windmill Palms, Sago Palms & Live Oaks. I'm only or nearly the only person that has taken the risk to plant all of these coastal trees in my area, but it has been worth it! These videos have been very helpful since I very rarely run across quality info or anyone that is so knowledgeable on the topic of freeze damage to tropical/coastal region trees & shrubs! With a little luck, trial and error and common plant care knowledge; I've kept my trees alive through some cold winters, but these videos have been a wealth of information and have given me the reassurance of what I'm doing right, what I can do better, as well as what to look for to ensure my trees stay healthy! Thank you for posting these great videos!
Yea he was referring to -5F he's in Las Cruces, New Mexico about 4 hours from where I am in Sierra Vista, Arizona. It got down to 3 F, but every palm made it.

The pindo palm fruit is amazing! If you live in a climate too cold for date palms you might still be able to grow a pindo palm

Not this time.....😞
