Hi, did you resolve the problem? I have the same issue but with an Xbox One. The avermedia works fine if I output the hdmi into a TV with built-in speakers, but with my monitor sound is muted. I "solved" by splitting audio and video input and doing the same with the output. Hdmi from Xbox is only for video (manually disable audio from settings) and an optic cable to jack 3.5 mm is used for audio output(from xbox) to audio in of the avermedia. The same with the output from the lgp, hdmi is for video and it is plugged on the monitor, audio is plugged in audio out (from avermedia) on the device that you are using (speakers or others). If your console has a 3.5mm output for audio, it's a much more simple connection to do. Xbox one has only the optic audio, no jack, so I was forced to do that kind of route. In the Recentral you set Hdmi for video and Audio In for audio. I hope that I've helped, sorry for my english, I'm italian and it's not my first language.
Sadly not, i ended up buying the Elgato HD60S+ for around £150, it fixed the issue straight away. I did try going from headphone jack of the nintendo switch but that muted the hdmi audio.
Don't buy avermedia any more. I have used the same one LGP 3 years, but suddenly audio signal died not recognizing HDMI audio as default microphone. This was expensive 3 years ago and died now. I bought Elgato HD60S+ to replace this capture device. What if you think window crashed because of sound mute and reinstall all the computer programs again and still not found what the cause was?
