Closest I’ve come to this was singing at a karaoke place for the very first time. A couple got up and started dancing, then a few other couples joined them on the little dance floor. I was singing Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why”. Made me feel like a million bucks, watching total strangers enjoying themselves while I sang.
She sang Queen’s “I Want to Break Free” at the Tribute Concert for Freddie in 1992. She was amazing.. the look on Brian’s face while watching her is priceless! Thanks for posting this - she’s so talented!

This always reminds me of when I first started high school in England in 1989. I used to dread the Sunday night feeling before school on Monday morning and would listen to the radio top 40 and tape songs I liked. I hated this at the time but began to love it and Lisa’s other songs as I got a bit older. She has a brilliant, soulful voice. 11 year old me had no taste lol Xx

I have so much love and respect for Lisa Stansfield, she has put in the work, she's been singing since a youngster, at about the age of 12-13 she hosted a TV programme for kids here in the UK called 'Junior Showtime', later on in her teens she had her own band, and then later on worked with other groups such as 'Coldcut', check out 'People Hold On' where she does lead vocals.

It featured artists covering Cole Porter numbers. Songs from the musicals of the 30s 40s and 50s. Artists featured sinead O'connor, Lisa Stanstead, nenah cherry. David byrne from the talking heads. Debbie Harry and iggy pop and many more absolutely fabulous stuff that really should be heard.
