I'm old enough to remember seeing these original shows. But imagine not being able to see them for 30+ years, and then suddenly, here they all are again, to watch as much as I want! Thank God for UA-cam and all the posters. (But I wish I could get a DVD with all these old shows.)
Yelp. I did to. It was a great; and the Jackson brothers was so natural in front of the camera with all the comedy routines they did with Flip Wilson. Such great memories watching his show every week.
Me Too!! Flip had one of the first variety shows for a full hour hosted by a black man....and then had the hottest group of black brothers on the planet!! Every time they were on TV back in the 70s I was watching them. Loved me some Jackson Five........
So blessed to have been blessed in this era of such great talent and great classic music 🎵🎶 I'm so excited to be watching this for the first time, my friends and I always had a big crush on Michael Jackson I'm sure a lot of females did still listening in "2022"
I love watching this video over and over again. Especially Marlon's spin moves at the beginning of the song, the choreography (they make it look so easy), the harmonies, and the way MJ jumped in Jermaine's face at the end was so funny. I probably wasn't born when this was performed, but I would have loved to go see them perform because if you wanted to see a real show, *vualah* this is it.
****the way MJ jumped in Jermaine's face at the end was so funny. Glad that you mentioned this because I never noticed it before. It is very funny, and you can see Michael kind of grinning to himself about it.
I just cry when I see this. I know I am not a family member but I am a member of a large fan base since age 5 and it hurts. It really really truly hurts. God Bless You Jackson family. Rest In Peace Beautiful Michael.
It was a wonderful time being raised as a child in the 60's and 70's. Black entertainers were developing their own style and brand of music. Motown's influence brought "our" music to main stream America and World Wide. It was very exciting to see groups like The Temps, The Dells, The Four Tops, and of course The Jackson 5. Their signiture was their "harmonizing" and "dance moves" that made them stand above the rest. And Micheal said it "he really did learn from the best in the business."
I love this I wish it wasn't so blurry cause I like going back and watch these appearances of the BEST group EVA❗❗ Tito and Michael the BEST.💖💙💜 He killing that 🎸
Who still watching in November 2018? And Loving it as if it was yesterday when they came on the Scene. Me. I truly miss the real Michael Jackson! He was Loved So Much that we all accepted the white Clone Michael Jackson.
I know!!! I was born in '93 and I feel like I missed out on a lot. music from the 70's is what I call awesome music!! I don't know why they call some of the stuff that comes out today music lol. and anything and everything Michael Jackson is amazing. I wish I was born so I could experience more of him in his prime :(
What show that was. As a child I watched this show that night it aired . Me and my brothers and little sister was so excited to see the Jackson 5ive. Back in the early 70's it seem like the J5 was on just about all of the variety shows and boy did we have such fun watching them. They was such great performers. That time was so magic to be a kid.
UA-cam, thank you so much on my part too. I also stayed up all night just watching all the Michael Jackson videos there are. Very hard to not come back here. Never knew this before so I signed up just about a week ago.
man sometimes I wish I was alive back then to see all of this stuff...that was some good music back then...I feel like I should have been born in this era so I could experience The Jackson 5 and their amazingness :)
They play too much lol. They joke with eachother and never miss a beat and YOU never notice lol. Jackie knew Mike was gonna startle Jermaine lol. Pay attention starting at 1:52; Jackie and Mike start smiling simultaneosly knowing what's going to happen...Jackie looks around at the other brothers to see if they are paying attention to eachother, Jackie looks for it to happen @ 2:13 but Mike doesn't do it until @2:33. Notice Jermaine is startled, Jackie smiles it off and Mike laughs while finishing the song. If you wanna catch them in the act Again, watch their performance on Soul Train during Jermaine's song "That's How Love Goes". During the breakdown, Michael does his Own funky steps and Jackie indiscreetly nodds to Marlon to look over at Mike, Marlon indiscreetly looks behind Jackie's back over at Michael, Michael is zoned out doing his Own thing but falls back into step to finish the song. They have even fought during performance (Michael slapped Marlon while making faces at eachother, Michael shoved Randy during the performance of ABC on the 30th Anniversary special; they were HILARIOUS but on Point!) GO WATCH!
Very typical in black groups to be innovative & do improvisational bits on stage! Especially those of us who sing in gospel groups...& surely those who as professionals.... break up the monotony of singing the same songs constantly! Love this performance! GREAT!
JazmineJermany I'm trying to find a live performance they did at a club (as The Jacksons) when Michael starts with Tito, he goes up to him during their performance and he makes Tito laugh, then Michael goes up to each brother and does something silly but they never break the performance. Go watch the video of "Enjoy Yourself" when they all where white suits. Jackie f's up the beginning of the performance & they all laugh it off. They were great lol
yh it does im so glad too im jus glad i at least knew of him and was able to experience some aprt of hes career and influence if i have kids i will certainly make sure they know of him im sure ppl will b talkin bout him n listenin 2 hes music 4 yrs 2 come
always av bin watchin videos,dvds,tv..listenin 2 cassettes,reocrds,cds...readin/lukin thru books,online,tv, i have t shirts,all books,cds,cassettes,records,vhs,dvds,ect luv him since i wos a kid born 88 too late
Mike is DEFINITELY not lip synching this song. The backgrounds might be synched but NOT this lead. The J5 did do some lip synch performances, but ALOT of their gigs were live, cuz often you'd see mike grab the microphone and you'd hear the static when he did it. Plus, this version is totally different than the recorded one....
I feel the same way. I'm still listening & watching these vids.. Last fall i was a Michael fanatic...and his death, nd them playing all tht music & those vids reminded me of that time. & I'm right back on it. :)
i soooo was born toooo late 21 nw born in 88 missed 2 much n 2yng 2 see him on tour ma cousin gt tickets 2 the 2009 tour afat rumoured comeback since 2002 so saddedn by sudden death luv him R.I.PXXX
I was thinking the very same thing. I use to watch this show every week and I don't remember the Jackson 5 ever being on. YT is rich in history for people to look up the past.
The lyrics for this song is like selling exactly how I feel about Michaels Death. I never can say goodbye :'( Its been a month and im still searching and watching your videos.
omg that is exactly how i feel. i sometimes wish i was born in 1975 rather than 1995.. music back then (ESPECIALLY michael jackson and the j5) is soooooo much better than this so called music today.
Where have you got this vid form they are so rare! Awesome vid!!! It true, MJ is born to make people happy and i beleive thats something he loved doing most. Please MJ dont stop cause you are here to entertain, to make the world happy. Only if you could make the world a better place all ALONE. Oh, i know you'll be greatly happy. you are such a human that want everyone to be happy. I Love you!!!!!!!
I Love the Flip wilson show, he was so funny and the Jackson 5 made it better Michael you will be remebered and loved always no matter what they say about you
@bitemechit I am sooo glad I was around these shows came on. When the J5 came on the scene, everytime they came on, we would make it an event...fix popcorn, and all. LOL. I sure is nice to be a part of this music history. RIP MJ.
People say that was the only one with talent, they lied. The whole group was good.
No one ever said that,
maybe about La Toya. 😂
G.O.A.T.S.

Jackie and Marlon were killin' it with the dance moves.
I watched this show the night it aired as a child with excitement. The J5 were the best!
Same here!
Yelp. I did to. It was a great; and the Jackson brothers was so natural in front of the camera with all the comedy routines they did with Flip Wilson. Such great memories watching his show every week.

This such a great performance by the Jackson5 that there's absolutely no way that I can watch it just once! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I'm the same age as Michael and I fell in love with him in 1969! A significant part of my life is gone! Never can say goodbye...
So blessed to have been blessed in this era of such great talent and great classic music 🎵🎶 I'm so excited to be watching this for the first time, my friends and I always had a big crush on Michael Jackson I'm sure a lot of females did still listening in "2022"

Whenever I’m feeling down I go on UA-cam and watch some Jackson 5 from my childhood. I love the sweet memories they generate from back in the day.
I watch these clips and reminisce about my childhood when my mother was alive. 🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😢
Me too..
I was 8 years old when this song came out! Anytime the Jackson 5 appeared on TV everyone tuned in! You were excited and could not wait!
Jackie and Marlon used to get down on the GOOD FOOT!
I miss you, Michael!
I just cry when I see this. I know I am not a family member but I am a member of a large fan base since age 5 and it hurts. It really really truly hurts. God Bless You Jackson family. Rest In Peace Beautiful Michael.

Yes it was

Can't get enough of that move they did at 0:54-0:59. That was sweet.
this looks like they used this as the model for the moves seen in the Jackson 5 cartoon
Who still watching in November 2018?
And Loving it as if it was yesterday when they came on the Scene. Me.
I truly miss the real Michael Jackson!
He was Loved So Much that we all accepted the white Clone Michael Jackson.
In December 😍💕😂
Man!!!! Flip Wilson, I loved that show 😸😸😸😸.
I know!!! I was born in '93 and I feel like I missed out on a lot. music from the 70's is what I call awesome music!! When the Jackson 5 became famous no one had ever seen a black group of brothers become so famous so quickly
Yup... Jackie and Mike were better natural dancers, but Marlon worked the hardest and he turned into a damn good dancer!
UA-cam, thank you so much on my part too. I also stayed up all night just watching all the Michael Jackson videos there are. Very hard to not come back here. Never knew this before so I signed up just about a week ago.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!! JACKSON FIVE FOREVER!! ❤❤❤
Priceless!!!! I loved me some Flip Wilson Show!!!
You had to be lucky to catch the Jackson 5 on television back in the early 1970s. There was very little prior notification.
my favorite JACKSON 5 SONG !!
Wow, the Jackson 5 was simply a fantastic soul professional and R&B group. ❤❤❤
man sometimes I wish I was alive back then to see all of this stuff...that was some good music back then...I feel like I should have been born in this era so I could experience The Jackson 5 and their amazingness :)
I love them so much. 💖They will always my favourite group. I love & miss Michael so much 😭
I love how they shake their heads too, just like three happy birds, this just made my day..I miss you soooooo much , Michael!!!
Just love him so much and miss him so much! RIP sweet one!
This version is my favorite of all time. MJ adlibs and voice is UNMATCHED
Sometimes the desire to do something is better than talent.
So many memories.
That adlib at 1:31 is what it's all about!! Great performance!!
Michal was a blessing the whole family was .
The ages of the Jackson Five at the first airing of this Flip Wilson appearance on 11/4/71: Michael 13, Marlon 14, Jermaine 16, Tito 18, Jackie 20.
Voice of an angel. LOve you Michael - forever
They play too much lol. They joke with eachother and never miss a beat and YOU never notice lol. Jackie knew Mike was gonna startle Jermaine lol. I CANNOT believe I am just now witnessing this! I am dying. Jermain lifted one leg up he was so startled!
JazmineJermany I'm trying to find a live performance they did at a club (as The Jacksons) when Michael starts with Tito, he goes up to him during their performance and he makes Tito laugh, then Michael goes up to each brother and does something silly but they never break the performance. Never can say Good By” Michael. R. I.P
If you watch Michael carefully you can see the dance steps that he uses when he's older. Many of his moves are classic, but he was a great showman!
I feel the same way.

im so glad i wa zlucky enuff to have been born in the 70's
You can find this version on an album released in 2009 called I Want You Back! The Unreleased Masters.
Jermaine's bass and the organ at 2:15 sounds like it jumped off of Issac Hayes' Walk On By.
This is one of the first J5 songs I remember hearing.
Love it
nah, he's just restin'. He'll be back :)
SANG MICHAEL!!!
you said it, NEVER EVER.
@bitemechit I am sooo glad I was around these shows came on. When the J5 came on the scene, everytime they came on, we would make it an event...fix popcorn, and all. LOL. I sure is nice to be a part of this music history. RIP MJ.
