I have been using my crockpot a lot lately and I have started what I am calling "crockpot Fridays" because by the time Friday rolls around I don't feel like cooking and it has been great for this mom's sanity
I totally understand! I use mine several times a week sometimes.
@melanm Heck yeah and leftovers for the weekend too!
One way to dress up refried beans is to add taco seasoning to it.
My preferred crockpot "season" is summer. Saves energy by keeping the stove/oven from heating up the house. Plus, dinner is ready when we come inside after spending all day outside! This video is arriving at the perfect time 😊
I agree. We are now autumn here in Australia. We used my slow cooker quiet a lot through the summer. Slow cooked pulled (chicken, pork, beef, lamb), with some type of side or made into “tacos”, ect.
It really kept our electricity and gas costs down when we were using the air cons and fans non stop. Having kids and a husband that like to be cool. Haha
Everyone deserveis to loved and appreciated as much as Mindy loves and appreciates her crockpot!
haha! so true! :)
I get celery and chop and freeze it for meals I got tired of running out!!!!! Lol😂 but no more !!!!
I do this also.
If you buy a bunch of celery that has the bottom still on, you can chop a chunk of the bottom of and grow it in your garden for mor celery, or you can use the bottom and the leafy tops in a veggie stock as well.
Girl as soon as I saw the shrimp meal idea I paused the video and started up on it!! Shrimp in the crockpot.... I would have never thought of it! And I had everything needed in the fridge/freezer!!
I'm so glad I could give an idea, I hope you enjoy it! My family really liked it, I'm gonna make it again. :)
My crockpot is my best friend, I use it at least once a week a week.
I use my crockpot a lot even in spring & summer. You can save on your energy bill by leaving off that oven
Spring has sprung here in Southwest Tennessee. Welcome the bipolar weather.
Yep, for sure!
We say that about Indiana all my life. Well that's Indiana weather for ya. One day 68 degrees next day freeze warning and my tulips just came out. Ugh!
I haven't used a slow cooker in years and with my current lifestyle they aren't practical for me to use but I can't pass by a new video from you, Mindy. Your videos are simultaneously entertaining and relaxing no matter the topic. Thanks for all your wonderful content!
Thanks for watching!
Verde salsa is also very inexpensive and incredibly easy to make. 2 garlic cloves(husk on), jalapeno or serrano, and 1lb tomatillos (remove husks and run under cold water). Char all ingredients under broiler, grill, or open flame. Allow them to cool slightly and throw it in a blender with some cilantro, add water to thin as needed. Salt to taste and as a preservative.
Great with slow cooker pork for carnitas, bean enchiladas, or fried cheese tacos. Also good for leftovers as a taco pizza sauce.
Thanks for sharing!
I love your videos. They help me so much. I live in Arkansas so our weather is similar to yours. I live by myself so I can adapt easily. Thx so much.
I’m a fellow Arkansas, as well. Making the crockpot shrimp scampi for supper tonight. The weather seemed fitting for it.
All of these slow cooker recipes look so delicious and super easy to make. Thanks for always sharing amazing meals, Mindy!
My pleasure! Glad you like them!
Sports are in full swing here and I really needed this video!
So glad I could deliver!
I made the chicken salsa for dinner last night (but used regular salsa instead of salsa verde). It was a huge hit and soooo easy! Thanks! 🙌❤️
My pleasure! Glad you liked it!
Love all the recopies recommended! I'm definitely not a natural cooker and have no inclination on what to do for dinner but I sure love crock pot recopies! Would love to see more crock pot recopies to carry through the year.
you are so down t o earth, we need you more than ever I think!!! big hugs to you girl.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
I absolutely love it when you improvise. So real!
Thank you so much!
I've been craving fresh foods after a winter of soups and cozy meals, always a perfect way to mark the start of spring!
Love those glasses! 🎉
Hubby so sweet. Nice to see what the family thinks of the food. I will try that shrimp recipe looks great!
It was very good. I’m not a shrimp fan, but the family is and they liked it. The pasta was very good and flavorful for being so simple! I will probably make it again!
Those Marketside tortillas are bomb!!!! I don't have a tortillería near me, so these are a good sub. I keep finding the street taco size for $0.53 and I stock up and freeze them! The large ones are great for Chipotle style burritos! I can usually find those for about $2/pack.
I’m making the chicken orzo soup in my crockpot right now. I’m excited to try this one, thanks for the great video!
It all looked so delicious. I need to get a crock pot back in my life. I gifted mine and I feel sure that all I needed was a dedicated recipe book to guide me until I was used to it. Your life will change immeasurably once your children start learning to drive! No more chauffeur!! Thank you for the video!
So true...we should have our first driver in the next couple years. :)
Thank you from Watts, Oklahoma!
My goodness, your “disclaimer” about Santa and the Easter bunny was so sweet. Thank you! 😊
I have a lot of people tell me their little ones watch with them. I try to keep that in mind.
I LOVE your warm-weather crock pot videos, Mindy!
Great idea 🥰I'm in Tulsa, Oklahoma - have a wonderful day 🥰
Made the beef gyros in my instantpot, delicious! This family approves!!!👍
Mindy, I don't know how you do it! You make cooking look soooooo easy and always looks soooooo good! 😉❤️🙏
Loved the last meal
When will your next new videos be coming out-- especially for crockpot?? LOVE your videos and great ideas and seeing your family and all your activties.
I usually post new videos on Thursdays.
Thanks!
What I love about this channel is that the recipes are delicious. Just tried the shrimp scampi and I love it. I know if the recipe is on a video, I can trust it to be amazing. Can't say that about other channels.
Thank you, Mindy. So inspiring! Gonna have to make tacos with pico tomorrow!
Ooo! I love that wicker garden table!!
I need crockpot recipes for the whole year. It is so hot in Texas during the summer that I never want to turn on the oven! Keep the crockpot non-soup recipes coming
I use my crockpot year round, too! All the recipes look great but I’m excited to try the shrimp scampi!
That was a good one, for sure!
Love your ideas
I heard about your channel from Mandy in the Making. I'm so glad! Love these ideas.
Thanks for coming over! I love Mandy, we've done a video together. :)
Great recipes Mindy. There are a couple I want to try. I use my crockpot in the summer to avoid heating up the house and the cottage. It’s great for pulled meats but also baked potatoes and corn.
Yes, I agree, I do the same thing!
All great ideas!
The chicken taco looks good.i love crock pot recipes ❤
I just had mine our I made baked potato soup, and peppers and sausage a different day. Love my crockpot!
Everything looks so good, I cant wait to try some of these recipes 🎉 I've been going Pinterest crazy lately
I add diced fresh jalapeños into my pico de gallo. Great recipe, Mindy!
Yum! Those looked like super tasty recipes!! Thanks!
They all worked out really great! Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what I was needing. Thanks for all the great meals ideas!!
The orzo soup looks delicious
And now I'm hungry. Lol. Thanks great ideas
my pleasure!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Tasty recipes. The tacos and shrimp scampi look so good. Thanks
Glad i could give some ideas!
I love this style of video
Thank you!
I use my crockpot year round but more in the summer so I don’t have to heat up my house, living in the desert not heating up your house is a priority.
Looks good
Thanks for the crockpot recipes. I adore my crockpots and use them all year! ❤
Love the tape on the inside of the freezer door. I've chosen green duct tape to hold my old spare fridge together.
Yep! We are gonna use that fridge until it breaks down! They're so pricey!
Love the spring crockpot meals! I’m trying to get more veggies in my diet, & would love to see some vegetarian crock pot meals, thanks!
I made that salt and lavender chicken soup before, it's delish!
so good!
Oh wow, those Greek 'tacos' look fantastic. I love the idea of making a Greek 'pico de gallo'!! Thanks for the inspo! ♥
Glad I can help!
First video of yours I've watched and I loved it. I'm trying to utilize my crockpot on days in need to be outside working in the garden.
Thank you for watching, I’m glad you found me! :)
Hey Mindy, thanks these sound great! Our daughter and son in law are expecting next month, so I am looking recipes that I can make for them!
Glad I could help! Congrats!
Everything looks amazing !!!! And your Easter games looked like so much fun for the kids ! Thanks for the delicious ideas for the crockpot !
It was such a great Easter, my oldest was still talking about it the next morning. I'm so glad we decided to do that.
@@SeeMindyMom wonderful memories !
Great recipes! Can you tell me where you got that big stainless skillet you used?
It's from a company I used to work with called Misen. I don't know if they still make that or anything any more. I stopped endorsing them because they never paid me for several integrations I made for them.
Those gyros look AMAZING
They were SO good! I'm gonna make them again.
@@SeeMindyMom I'm still terrified to leave my crockpot on while i work away from home for 8 hrs. But summer is coming and my teens will be home. So im on the hunt for fresh crockpot recipes that i can put on during summer break!
Does anybody else think that the better than bouillon jars are hard to open?
Yes. Especially if I’ve already used some. I’m not messy but the lid gets “corroded” for lack of better words. I thought it was just me. 😅
hmmm, I haven't had that problem. Interesting.
I had to get my husband to open it.
My husband and I make the honey lime salsa verde chicken from Carlsbad Cravings all the time. I can’t recommend her recipe enough-it is seriously so good. We love to put it on tostadas. There’s also an enchilada version!
Great idea!!
Hi Mindy, great video today, Thank You. Will be definitely trying the chicken taco recipe looks tasty!! Agree with making pico a gallo at home so much less expensive, we add a fresh diced(with seeds) jalapeño to give a little kick😊. Hope things well with you and all of yours. Please Take Care❤
Yes, I thought of that later, too. I usually put a jalapeno in ours as well. I'm out of the habit, but it will come back to me as we roll into summer. I make it a lot this time of year.
@@SeeMindyMom 😊Blessings to you and yours
Wonder for the shrimp scampi if you could have added the noodles in with the shrimp and added about 4 cups of water?
Where did you get the naan bread? It looks so soft and delicious
Aldi!
They all looked delicious. Your nails are so pretty, do you do them yourself?
No, I visit a place here in Tulsa once a month that is run by a sweet little family. I never used to get my nails done, but since I work so much with my hands in the shot, it's something I started to budget for. :)
I LOVE HEB tortillas!!!
Me, too! I wish we lived close to one so I could have them more often!
Is there a video for the Shrimp boil? If so can you link it please?! 😁

@@SeeMindyMom thank you!! Can’t wait to try it!
Those chicken tacos look amazing 😍
They were so good!
❤
Crockpot meals are a godsend! Thank you for these recipes. They keep me out of the rut of same meals. Variety is the spice of life when it comes to meals. Thank you for your hard work so I don't have too!! 😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
The title on the main picture for the video got me to click on this! So fun!
Thank you! I thought it was bright and colorful! :)
cool
Do you heat your tortillas in the fry pan?Or do you just eat them out of the pack?
Wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 30 seconds.
I rarely heat mine, but when I do, I also wrap them in a damp paper towel and about 7-10 seconds max in microwave.
Beautiful earrings!!
Thank you 😊
It's been rainy n windy here for the last few days. Oh Mindy , I watched that movie I was telling you about called " ordinary angels " turns out it was a true story out of Kentucky about a hours drive from where I live in Indiana. It was a great movie. I hope you get to see it. Let me know what you think! Thanks Linda
Thank you for the rec! I will see if I can find it.
Can you add your recipe for pico please.
My question is:when you use slow cooker your electrity bill go high or normal bc its 6h,8,or 12 hours, thank you in advance.
It uses very little. And definitely less than your oven or stovetop and it diesnt heat up your house
My crockpots use a lot less energy than my oven, even for being on so long. They also put out less heat which in a warmer climate like the one where we live is a must for me.
I like bbq pork in a slow cooker and Cuban style ropa veiejah in the fall it's boss to slow cook.
Why you call him Brick, is that short for something? I saw a kid on a show called that and now your kid. It's a cool name but where did you get the idea? I wanted to call my kids nature names but our name I Long so my husband had reservations about calling them Leaf Long, Branch or River. We also didn't go w Richard. Lol
My sister called her kid River so at least someone got to hippie names in the fam!
My son is named after my dad, who always went by the name Brick. I know the show you're talking about, it's one of my favorite shows of all time! But my Brick is a family name. :)
Oh my Me too!! I loved Sue Heck.
My son has ASD and the character Brick is very representative...very. I love the name thanks for sharing.
I put a little bit of serrano pepper in my pico de gallo. NO SEEDS! SERRANOS ARE SMALL but powerful! I dice them up very tiny and add about 1/4 of the pepper.🎉
Thanks for the tip!
Ever since I had covid I have no brain. I can't remember anything. I try to laugh about it but it gets frustrating.
My every attempt to use a Crock pot is a fail. I have maybe only 2 recipes I use a crock pot for otherwise the food turns out so bland and tasteless...
Am I the only one who can't figure out why people love crock pots?
What am I doing wrong?
I use lots of salt 😂
If you are cooking meat 10-12 hours while you go to work it usually over cooks it. Beans are good for that long. Also, many of the UA-camrs from up North do not use as much seasoning as we Southerners do.
I agree, they all tast about the same, I only do beef or pork roast!
@@sherrybendall5817 I use instant pot more often...
I also have at least 5 books with crock pot recipes and what I have tried cooking from books or from websites following the recipe, usually turns out bland and my family doesn't eat it... I want to give crock pot a chance 😀
Not using the whole box of pasta in a pasta dish for 5 people? Weird flex but ok.
A serving is 2 oz per person. She put in 12 oz. It's enough for her family.
