My preferred crockpot "season" is summer. Saves energy by keeping the stove/oven from heating up the house. Plus, dinner is ready when we come inside after spending all day outside! This video is arriving at the perfect time 😊
I agree. We are now autumn here in Australia. We used my slow cooker quiet a lot through the summer. Slow cooked pulled (chicken, pork, beef, lamb), with some type of side or made into “tacos”, ect. It really kept our electricity and gas costs down when we were using the air cons and fans non stop. Having kids and a husband that like to be cool. Haha
I have been using my crockpot a lot lately and I have started what I am calling "crockpot Fridays" because by the time Friday rolls around I don't feel like cooking and it has been great for this mom's sanity
I do this also. If you buy a bunch of celery that has the bottom still on, you can chop a chunk of the bottom of and grow it in your garden for mor celery, or you can use the bottom and the leafy tops in a veggie stock as well.
Girl as soon as I saw the shrimp meal idea I paused the video and started up on it!! Shrimp in the crockpot.... I would have never thought of it! And I had everything needed in the fridge/freezer!!
I haven't used a slow cooker in years and with my current lifestyle they aren't practical for me to use but I can't pass by a new video from you, Mindy. Your videos are simultaneously entertaining and relaxing no matter the topic. Thanks for all your wonderful content!
Love all the recopies recommended! I'm definitely not a natural cooker and have no inclination on what to do for dinner but I sure love crock pot recopies! Would love to see more crock pot recopies to carry through the year.
Those Marketside tortillas are bomb!!!! I don't have a tortillería near me, so these are a good sub. I keep finding the street taco size for $0.53 and I stock up and freeze them! The large ones are great for Chipotle style burritos! I can usually find those for about $2/pack.
It all looked so delicious. I need to get a crock pot back in my life. I gifted mine and I feel sure that all I needed was a dedicated recipe book to guide me until I was used to it. Your life will change immeasurably once your children start learning to drive! No more chauffeur!! Thank you for the video!
What I love about this channel is that the recipes are delicious. Just tried the shrimp scampi and I love it. I know if the recipe is on a video, I can trust it to be amazing. Can't say that about other channels.
It was very good. I’m not a shrimp fan, but the family is and they liked it. The pasta was very good and flavorful for being so simple! I will probably make it again!
I need crockpot recipes for the whole year. It is so hot in Texas during the summer that I never want to turn on the oven! Keep the crockpot non-soup recipes coming
We say that about Indiana all my life. Well that's Indiana weather for ya. One day 68 degrees next day freeze warning and my tulips just came out. Ugh!
Great recipes Mindy. There are a couple I want to try. I use my crockpot in the summer to avoid heating up the house and the cottage. It’s great for pulled meats but also baked potatoes and corn.
Thanks for the crockpot recipes. I adore my crockpots and use them all year! ❤ Love the tape on the inside of the freezer door. I've chosen green duct tape to hold my old spare fridge together.
When will your next new videos be coming out-- especially for crockpot?? LOVE your videos and great ideas and seeing your family and all your activties.
@@SeeMindyMom I'm still terrified to leave my crockpot on while i work away from home for 8 hrs. But summer is coming and my teens will be home. So im on the hunt for fresh crockpot recipes that i can put on during summer break!

My husband and I make the honey lime salsa verde chicken from Carlsbad Cravings all the time. I can’t recommend her recipe enough-it is seriously so good. We love to put it on tostadas. There’s also an enchilada version!
Hi Mindy, great video today, Thank You. Will be definitely trying the chicken taco recipe looks tasty!! Agree with making pico a gallo at home so much less expensive, we add a fresh diced(with seeds) jalapeño to give a little kick😊. Hope things well with you and all of yours. Please Take Care❤
Yes, I thought of that later, too. I usually put a jalapeno in ours as well. I'm out of the habit, but it will come back to me as we roll into summer. I make it a lot this time of year.
No, I visit a place here in Tulsa once a month that is run by a sweet little family. I never used to get my nails done, but since I work so much with my hands in the shot, it's something I started to budget for. :)
Crockpot meals are a godsend! Thank you for these recipes. They keep me out of the rut of same meals. Variety is the spice of life when it comes to meals. Thank you for your hard work so I don't have too!! 😊
My crockpots use a lot less energy than my oven, even for being on so long. They also put out less heat which in a warmer climate like the one where we live is a must for me.
It's been rainy n windy here for the last few days. Oh Mindy , I watched that movie I was telling you about called " ordinary angels " turns out it was a true story out of Kentucky about a hours drive from where I live in Indiana. It was a great movie. I hope you get to see it. Let me know what you think! Thanks Linda
I put a little bit of serrano pepper in my pico de gallo. NO SEEDS! SERRANOS ARE SMALL but powerful! I dice them up very tiny and add about 1/4 of the pepper.🎉
I like bbq pork in a slow cooker and Cuban style ropa veiejah in the fall it's boss to slow cook. Why you call him Brick, is that short for something? Lol My sister called her kid River so at least someone got to hippie names in the fam!

My every attempt to use a Crock pot is a fail. I have maybe only 2 recipes I use a crock pot for otherwise the food turns out so bland and tasteless... Am I the only one who can't figure out why people love crock pots? What am I doing wrong?
If you are cooking meat 10-12 hours while you go to work it usually over cooks it. Beans are good for that long. Also, many of the UA-camrs from up North do not use as much seasoning as we Southerners do.

One way to dress up refried beans is to add taco seasoning to it.

Does anybody else think that the better than bouillon jars are hard to open?
Yes. Especially if I’ve already used some. I’m not messy but the lid gets “corroded” for lack of better words. I thought it was just me. 😅
hmmm, I haven't had that problem. Interesting.

A serving is 2 oz per person. She put in 12 oz. It's enough for her family.
