Fantastic rescues, Naude and Antoine!! I'm amazed how you can spot those tiny gill nets on those pups. The first pup, his eyeballs were following your every cut. The second pup was so patient! Dilholio yeah they’re expecting pain in order to know to fight back harder. The pain never comes so they’re really confused. You can see it initially when they have their head restrained, their automatic response is to try to bite. Then they start to calm down when they realize something else is happening. They still looked scared, because honestly who wouldn’t be scared of large hairless penguins sitting on top of you.
So what do you do for exercise? "Well, I drive up to massive groups of enormous seals, I charge at full sprint to one, dive on his back, hold him down and remove discarded fishing line from around his neck. What do you do for fun?" "Well, I take spin classes."
I envision a world where the word gets out among the seals. They realize how incredibly better their lives are after encountering these humans, and they start to happily line up on the shore when they see Naude and Antoine coming. There must be a point where they communicate among themselves and say, "Hey!! Not only did none of us die after our encounters with the humans, but we no longer hurt!!" 👏💛
I don't understand why the rescuers do not wait until they are closer to the seals before they start running towards them. Through the camera lens it appears as though they are quite a distance away. Amazing job you do. Unbelievable suffering for these creatures before they are saved. Thank you.
