I read a book where the guy was freakishly perfect and everyone else was like "Wtf is he, he's obviously not human what's wrong with you" When they aren't real it's easy to go "I mean... he only killed a feewwwww people"
not to sound mean, but it sounds like all the male characters you read about are "gary stew"s. verry one sided characters with verry little left to the imagination. BUT! I love the song and want to thank you for another awesome video :) and, if you want the best read of your life, i would recomend the trillogy "the kingkiller chronicles" by Patrick Rothfus. this book series, in my opinion is better than anything i have ever read! again, thank you for making awesome videos! i cant wait for your next song :)

+Skylar Zilloway Twilight was just a fun book I read when I was 14 that I really enjoyed. Not all art has to have a purpose or a meaningful background or stand for something huge. I prefer it if does, but if it's a good story or enjoyable, it doesn't matter too much. Half the fairytales I read as a kid were seriously, crazily messed up (as I've stated in my Fairy Fails videos). Doesn't make then any less enjoyable. Whether it's badly written or not is purely personal opinion. xxx
I feel the same way! I personally love Twilight, and I don't care if people hate on it! I can't get enough of books, I just finished Divergent today, and I started it less than 3 days ago! Btw Carrie, have you read Divergent? I really love it, and I can't wait for the movie! ^.^

I totally get what you're saying here, and I like this approach, but I also wonder where you draw the line when you think this way. A lot of people think Twilight is a really problematic story because of what it says about relationships. It might still be entertaining, but if it's perpetuating ideas that may be harmful, is it still okay to support it and celebrate it? If a song is blatantly sexist, we don't usually say "well, it's catchy, so it doesn't matter." I'm not saying Twilight is on that level, but I am curious as to how you determine when something's "fun factor" overrides what its underlying message is. (Great song, though. I certainly identify with it.)
i agree, i read the Twilight books a while ago, about the same age as you did actually and i quite enjoyed them at the time but my taste in books has changed since then. Stephanie Meyer is a really good writer but people choose to hate on her because they hate twilight but her other book, The Host is amazing. i think Twilight actually got me into reading more books tbh so im definitely not ashamed for reading them because i absolutely love books now.

When I was reading "Anne of Green Gables", I was having a similar argument/spat with a boy. Later on I ended up friends with him in a really similar way and I (for a very long time) considered him by Gilbert Blythe because I did have a crush on him :P
