Hankerin. You make me feel fit in. In my community circles at the moment, very few people share my intrests. I gotta change it up a bit. But you bring me back to what feels right. Being geeky and strange in a creative loose yet still planned kind of behavioral way. Love it. Stay awesome. I cant wait for my craft game to step up to the icy challenge of Time consumption
0:53 These little narratives are doubly awesome... They are fantasy-esque enough to seem like a cool story setting from which an adventure could be designed, yet have just enough comic-booky-over-the-topness to make me laugh. And delivery is everything!!!
That's a brilliant use for the dice case. I have a couple empty cases I have been trying to find a use for, so thanks Hankerin! And your ice terrain looks fantastic, I will have to give it a shot.
I feel like a fool for not delving into your vids sooner. I've been building terrain for a little over a year. I love your ice shaping technique! Subbed and will binge watch soon.
Started a Reign of Winter campaign, so I used this as inspiration to put together a 24" square board to use for the numerous snow encounters. I'll need some set pieces but the terrain itself turned out pretty nice.
I know what you can do with the seesaw piece. It can be a trap where they end up stepping on it somehow and then they have to figure out how to get off while still maintaining the balance or the trap goes off.
Lookin good H you do some very good work for a lumpy headed lunatic. Always very impressive what you come up with like the color combonations and shapes.
Excellent set up! Have you thought about making some icicle stalagmites and stalactites, and some overhanging cavern walls? Some icicle tree like constructs would be cool also. Some simple ice cubes styled scatter would be neat, and some sort of avalanche/icy cave in terrain. Wish I had some power tools and a garage. ha! Look forward to more content. That bad thing about your videos- I always end up wanting to play some dnd! Keep up the badassary!
badass, man ! (viewers should just comment like that lol) interesting technique your blueberry donut reminds me of the time portal in the star trek TOS city on the edge of forever could use some translucent material. I like the d-ice case ;
Hank, I've been searching and searching for tiles on the internet, and the number of options might rival porn. I still like the way you work, everything else feels railroady and you've come up with "open boards", that yield a larger story helping drunk friends have more fun (or keep my HS students engaged, even though I don't let them drink). Thanks for sharing.
Now we get to see you on coffee. LOL Loved it. Oh, and dude, if you want to do some cool effects with back lights, just mist spray the foam with tonic water and let it dry. And this is going to sound wrong, but thanks for showing us your junk.
Nice set ;) I need to paint one up like that. We are at the Crown of the World and using our standard terrain. The DM has to constantly say " pretend this is ice/ covered in snow ". Pretend! ?, in an rpg?! ha!
Quote of the day "Don't be an ice hole! Just make one, don't be one! I love your videos man! You are a funny dude. Thanks, great setup. On my projects list now. Work on tiles currently, by the way thanks for the two side tiles idea its like killing two Kobolds with one swing. Press on dude and thanks again
Awesome as usual! I think I have been inspired...if that was your intent. Though it is hard to tell would your pieces benefit from a light overspray of semigloss or gloss foam friendly spray varnish to make it glisten? I might have to try it myself. Your colors as usual are outstanding and evoke the feeling of icy cold...love it! Thanks for the effort!
Really like your video, but I came to learn how you paint your ice terrain. Kinda glossed over it with a reference to underbrush and something about your other videos. I wasn't able to find any other ice painting, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it :)
-40C with the windchil in Saskatchewan today so I can appreciate your Ice Terrain today! lol. Do you get any harmful off gassing when you take flame to that foam?
amazing coloration, and genius use of the dice case. may I say your frozen arch looks amazing as well.. couple questions. what color is the blue and purple you use on your ice? and how do you texture your board then sand it? what materials?
+wade patterson colors a re all just improve mix of ceramcoat. material is styrene, white sand and elmers, then a wood block to level the grit before it dries...
color mixing is an art in itself! base is dark blue, washed with grey, mid is cyan pure, and white on top. I did a test piece to get my colors figured out...
I really enjoy your crafting videos, and I am in awe of your ice terrain set. I would like to try to do something similar, but I worry about the hazardous chemical effects from styrene. Do you take any precautions while working with styrofoam pieces? TIA.
Dude, use that stupid curved shape, I think you called it seesaw or something (English's not my language). Put it on a column or wall or something, curved shape down. Put playes on each side of that MoFo and you got yourself an epic Indiana-Jones-type trap of two big O'grown men! Keep making them vids (:
+Chris Pandaz when only being warmed, no smoke or fumes come off. I have good ventilation here, and if doing anything large I use the garage. When you scorch it (like in my corrosion video) you GOTTA be outside.
All the ideas for this ice set are amazing. Love the complexity through simplicity
Thanks for the video. Finally got around to crafting this myself!

0:53 These little narratives are doubly awesome... They are fantasy-esque enough to seem like a cool story setting from which an adventure could be designed, yet have just enough comic-booky-over-the-topness to make me laugh. And delivery is everything!!!
Wow! That set looks great! I'm not ready to take it in the ice, but when I am, I'll try and follow your example. 😉
Burrrrrr I'm freezing my ass off, damn Hankerin' that looks 'effin cold!!!
"He must not be huffing styrene fumes" Got a laugh out of me, Hank. Happy Friday.
Wow, that table looks great!
the block of ice is totally awesome
That's a brilliant use for the dice case. I have a couple empty cases I have been trying to find a use for, so thanks Hankerin! And your ice terrain looks fantastic, I will have to give it a shot.
I feel like a fool for not delving into your vids sooner. I've been building terrain for a little over a year. I love your ice shaping technique! Subbed and will binge watch soon.
OMG! That would make for a great mold for a Gelatinous Cube!
+Dave Rosser yep...that's in one of my vids somewhere...dice cases make great material
That is an awesome set!!! 😎
Started a Reign of Winter campaign, so I used this as inspiration to put together a 24" square board to use for the numerous snow encounters. I'll need some set pieces but the terrain itself turned out pretty nice.
Very visually impressive, loved all the different props and layouts
Great work.
Awesome! Really liked the ice technique and freezing cube!
So sic. Your a true dungeon master for sure.
I've been off the UA-cams for a week and I come back to this icy treat! My hat to you, chapeau!

Chesix (whatever) ice block: brilliant...brilliant.

You the mangerfunking Bob Ross o' terrain hacks, mmmhmm yessir.
I know what you can do with the seesaw piece. It can be a trap where they end up stepping on it somehow and then they have to figure out how to get off while still maintaining the balance or the trap goes off.
This is just great! Always have a good time watching your videos mate
Better diy than diy channels.
I bet that looks bad ass under blacklight!!
Dope! Some excellent ideas here. Gotta get me some polystyrene.
That is a beautiful set sir.
Awesome set up.
Lookin good H you do some very good work for a lumpy headed lunatic. Always very impressive what you come up with like the color combonations and shapes.
Wow does that terrain look bad ass!
Looks awesome

Favorite moment of the video: "Here's a wolf!"
The ice texture is sick. If you make more, it might be easier to use a candle and bring the foam to it instead of holding a lighter to the foam.
+Hotdog the Barbarian tried it! candle flames burn far colder than butane..and with way more exhaust
badass, man ! (viewers should just comment like that lol) interesting technique your blueberry donut reminds me of the time portal in the star trek TOS city on the edge of forever could use some translucent material. I like the d-ice case ;
This is really cool ---and that Paladinsicle... nice
the craft game is intense

Bummer man. I really like how it looks. Don't suppose you are working on a "How I painted my ice terrain" video?
CHILLING... !!! 💀
-40C with the windchil in Saskatchewan today so I can appreciate your Ice Terrain today! lol. Do you get any harmful off gassing when you take flame to that foam?
+logan holmberg a small amount if you don't scorch. If you scorch: you will see through time

I was wondering if you have ever done/planned to do more uniform buildings? (Like a recently constructed castle or dining hall)
+burningflurber not really...I don't have the patience
amazing coloration, and genius use of the dice case. may I say your frozen arch looks amazing as well.. couple questions.

+wade patterson colors a re all just improve mix of ceramcoat. material is styrene, white sand and elmers, then a wood block to level the grit before it dries...
Cool.. so just kind of play around with colors until I get what I like? By the way awesome lighter technique. Really convincing ice wall texture.
color mixing is an art in itself! base is dark blue, washed with grey, mid is cyan pure, and white on top. I did a test piece to get my colors figured out...
What song where you singing. I have had that tune in my head for 3weeks and its killing me. Are you saying I've Cream?
I really enjoy your crafting videos, and I am in awe of your ice terrain set. I would like to try to do something similar, but I worry about the hazardous chemical effects from styrene. Do you take any precautions while working with styrofoam pieces? TIA.
+Raymond Falgui Nope. If I'm blowtorching I go outside. Otherwise it's no biggie. All about that bob ross gentleness with the fiyah
+Raymond Falgui oh and thnx!
+Drunkens & Dragons: Play D&D Like a Badass Thanks for the response.
Bloody drunken chipmunk! XD
Many lighters died to bring us this terrain set... ITS A TRAP!
+seirre so true...so true
I am so cold!
+Christopher Jacob (CHDesign) scold!
but how can it be cold with that warm fire back there? Speaking of which, won't the set melt? :(
+Ian Hogan fire too small!
I know this is an older video but do you have the link to white locks video
white locks?
Wylock and I got it now thanks

Do you think you would do custom sets ?
made to order? yeah, would consider that! pm hankerin.ferinale@gmail.com
isnt the smell of the burning really really bad on this matterial?
+Chris Pandaz when only being warmed, no smoke or fumes come off. I have good ventilation here, and if doing anything large I use the garage. When you scorch it (like in my corrosion video) you GOTTA be outside.
Thanks
How do you store all of your sets / pieces?
+Brian Chamberlin a massive chaotic room! mostly on ehuge bookshelf, but it aint pretty
