City of Ryde - Bundled Green-Waste

- Back with the same funny guys on the clean-up, except this time it is all about picking up the green-waste. This is what I found them doing first up that Thursday morning; moving through a few streets and collecting the bundles of tree trimmings. There is plenty of packing involved in this video, including a clip which shows the Heil struggling on some timber. Hope you enjoy the action, all ratings and comments are highly appreciated.

Awesome footage! Nice how they have a collection just for green waste!
Wowzee! A 45 year old and a 60 year old. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a lot of green waste the garbage mans are funny and friendly awesome work Mitch thank you for posting this video on UA-cam.
Really great as usual.5stars saved to favorites
awesome video mate, these guys are really madd (Y) and the sound of this truck is really nice.
Great video!
hey with bulk greens wouldnt it be quicker and more eficent to have a wood chipper and truck going around mulching it to save time.
@r6man2 Thanks. They do have ASLs for the green-waste, but that's for the lighter materials like grass clippings, leaves, etc. This collection shown is part of the clean-up which allows residents to dispose of the larger material which won't fit in the bin.
nice an crunchy for the finaly.
Great job Mitch! I thought they had an ASL for this....
Just a lot of weight and density to deal with. Not so bad when you're feeding little bit of timber at a time, but once it starts to group up, it can be a struggle for the packer to feed into the body, especially against a full load. Just gotta try and get the sweep under the material, which is why you keep cycling to exert pressure against the load.
nice vid mitch!
Pre-2011 models had the Cummins ISC and the newest have ISLs.
@macdonaldjohnstonfan Yeh these guys are awesome, can't get away without cracking a joke or doing something entertaining =] Yes they have both a bin based and clean-up green-waste collection. I'd definitely like to get out there for more of these Ryde machines, just a matter of when.
@Trashman242 I don't think those lumbers are actually supposed to even be taken in these green-waste collections? haha Ah stuff it, throw it in anyway! =] Was nice to get some footage of an RL doing this particular job, last time I videoed something like this was of the old Warringah greens pick-up. Thanks.
Wow, you are so green (we have similar waste for disposal).
What do you with the other stuff ? (Plastics, Computers, Papers, Batteries etc.)
Seems the 240l green waste bins are inadequate.
Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with throwing it in as long as it's not treated timber; gets shredded up so turns out to be another source of mulch in the end.
i dident see any where the truck had any problems
i didnt know 2 by 4's you could put them in yard wast. weird
Hard to believe they are doing all this lifting and tossing in their bare arms and legs.......probably needs lots of band-aids......
