    Great video! Really helped me out on deciding which one to take. I went for the VP249QGR since the ghosting didn't seem all that higher compared to the VG249Q and I plan on using with a VESA mount anyway. Thanks! :)

    There is a neat little trick I found when using this monitor that makes stuff look more vibrant, kinda like if HDR is on but it works for everything rather than just specific HDR supported games. What I did was I opened up the menu using the buttons on the down left side of the monitor and used the following settings:
    1. Using Splendid and set it to "Game mode."
    2. Going to Image>Shadow Boost>Set it to level 1
    The image looks so much better for me after that. Mostly do gaming and typical entertainment stuff.

    Got this monitor as a replacement for my Viewsonic XG2405 which unfortunately, had black lines show up on the bottom of the screen.
    Colors are very similar and I honestly wouldn't be able to tell them apart if they were side by side.
    I do think that the Asus is a bit more responsive than the Viewsonic. I play a lot of CS and flicking around feels super snappy as compared to my older Viewsonic.
    Really loving this monitor so far.

    • @siuinji3259
      @siuinji3259 2 роки тому

      @@chernoxeneize12 the only selling point I see for the XG2405 is the stand which I absolutely love. Performance wise, they are almost identical eventhough I'd argue that the Asus is a tad bit faster. Color/Picture quality is the same and I couldn't tell the difference. Just get whichever is cheaper!

    • @chernoxeneize12
      @chernoxeneize12 2 роки тому

      @@siuinji3259 Thanks! What do u mean by "faster"? Lower MS or what?
      The Asus is cheaper, but I'll have to buy a Vesa mount cause the stand it's terrible... a mean really low, no ergonomics.
      But with a bit faster you mean lower MS, the Asus it's the best option I guess, cheaper, same colors and faster. I would have to buy a VESA mount but maybe that's even more ergonomic than XG2405

    • @siuinji3259
      @siuinji3259 2 роки тому

      @@chernoxeneize12 not really sure how I would describe it but the asus feels slightly more responsive to me when I flick around like a madman. I don't think you would be able tell them apart though. Maybe my viewsonic unit was just bad.
      A vesa mount is definitely a must on the Asus. But if you'd rather have a standalone stand, the XG2405 would be my choice.

    Hey what do u think of the ASUS Tuf VG27QW? , I’m getting it as a replacement for my acer VG270UP cause I didn’t really like the ips panel for gaming, and I felt the panel was slow and not very responsive. It also had pretty bad ghosting on games like rainbow six. So do you think the ASUS TUF VG27WQ would be better for competitive gaming?

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  4 роки тому

      I couldn't find a good review, but I would guess the VG27WQ will have more ghosting than the VG270UP. It's a VA, which usually is the worst in terms if ghosting (there are exceptions like the Samsung G7 though). The G7 would be an option for you - check out Hardware Unboxed review.
      Also the Omen 27i or LG 27GL850, ViewSonic XG270QG (all sport the same panel). I recently did a review on the 27i.
      You could also go for TN panel, if you don't care about picture quality.

    Does the vp249qgr support 144hz on hdmi? I only have a laptop thats 144hz and I want to use an external monitor, so does this monitor do the job at 144hz?

    if I can find the vp249qgr for around 80-90 dollars cheaper then the vg249q, would it be worth going it? or would you still say the vg249q is better for PC. I understand at a $30 dollar price difference, but would your opinion change at $80-$90 cheaper?

      If you already have a mounting solution I would totally go for the VP at this price difference. Even more if you're not too sensitive to smearing or generally don't play FPS.

    Hey sir, love your reviews. Very detailed and thorough.
    May i ask a question? I have a problem with my vp249qdr while using a DP connection the signal gets lost right after windows boots, right after the logo. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be the DP cable itself? ( All is working with a HDMI connection)

    • @techlessYT
      @techlessYT  3 роки тому

      Thanks! So, DP doesn't work at all or is it just a short dropout?

      @keironalcantara 3 роки тому

      @@techlessYT it works when trying to acces the bios, it shows up with bios and windows boot logo. But right after the boot logo, like once windows finishes booting up. It just drops out. No signal at all after that

      I see.. that's sounds like a Windows/graphics cards/driver problem to me. I would try the usual stuff, like updating drivers/windows. What about booting in safe mode - did you try that?

    • @keironalcantara
      @keironalcantara 3 роки тому

      @@techlessYT I havent tried booting into safe mode yet, ill do that right now. As well as uninstalling and reinstalling the nvidia drivers. I read in one forum that the monitor is picky with cables, are you using a DP 1.4 cable sir?

    • @keironalcantara
      @keironalcantara 3 роки тому

      An update sir. Booting into safe mode didn't work, but uninstalling all nvidia drivers using DDU did and display worked. However after installing the drivers again, screen went black and no signal once again.
