I'm not a beginner but I always feel like one when I go to parks! Over the years I have gotten slightly less awkward but the struggle is still quite real
yung mango do you have good flat tricks ? You may think you are not a beginner if you have but go more often to parks to get more expérience
Benjamin Poulsen yeah I have a decent bag of flat tricks, but when I go to parks I’m more concerned with the obstacles and what I wanna learn on them. It’s a lot different than skating street
yung mango then take your best tricks and do them on the obstacles and learn some grinds and slides
Benjamin Poulsen when I said I felt like a beginner i meant mentally/when there are other people there. Plenty of grinds n slides. I just hate getting in peoples way. Plus that comment was 8 months ago lol
I think u missed the point of the comment, which is how I FEEL at parks not how I skate them. A lotta people are the same way. Social anxiety. Being there alone is the most comfortable way to do it

Omg me too... I was supposed to go to the skate park today but my anixiety went up when a lot of people were there so I didn’t get to 😓

I Wass tryna learn to drop in and some guy went out of his way to help. Also, I landed my first ollie and 3 skaters started clapping for me

I just started too IAM bad but getting better just learn to ride then do tricks that's what alot ppl told me
keep at it young lady ,,we all progress at different speeds and have different abilities ,practice and skate your own way ,i'ts what skating is about !!

I learned how to skate this year and I’m just sayin that if you keep at it eventually you will look at the people around you and see that you are getting better. 👌
I went to the skatepark at 8am to avoid people and their were 3 other people their. 2 riding scooters but they were like 5 years old so kept getting in the way and a middle aged skater guy that seemed cool but he must have wanted to avoid people to as he left within 10minutes of me getting there
maybe that middle aged guy just wanted a quick sesh before he had to go to work :shrug:
@@markshephard909 yeah that makes more sense. He seemed like he had been there for at least 30-60 mins by the way he was skating
3:07 one time I sprained my foot at the bottom of a giant ditch ramp and my skateboard flew across the skatepark into the vert ramps, then someone helped me get out of the ramp and someone else went and got my skateboard so nobody would get hurt... Be like them if someone is struggling to get up. Unless they aren't seriously hurt, then just keep skating
and everyone was eventually a beginner too

Hey, remember it like this. Little kids learn faster than adults. How long would it take you to learn words, read, and write in a new language now? How long by comparison did it take you when you were a kid?

Me: *going in the evening while everyone leaves, it's cool out, and there are only a few people left. Usually all the kids are gone by now cus they gotta go to bed*

At my local we have a big area right before the quarter where most runs start and people always hog it trying flatland tricks and ive benn stuck up on the quarter 5+ mins just waiting for them to move

This is great for me! I have only done long/skateboarding for a couple of weeks.
The starting point for obstacles is definitely a learning curve and I actually never thought about it as being a crucial part of someone's skate IQ. Great video!

Out here in Colorado the parks are packed all the time. Went to Glenn hill yesterday morning around 8am to 6 or so people already there. The skate scene out here is massive. Lots of transition skaters
I’ve been skating for 25 years now. Cool to be the somewhat wiser/old(er) guy that still sort of rips still. I don’t have the heart to politely call out/teach these kids unless they’re in actual danger, especially since their parents are usually close by. Being a local mentor/supporter is an awesome feeling, so kudos John!

I have watched you skate for a long time and I dig your little TinkerTeck style, but for some reason I really want to see a video where you cruise the park fast and hit all your slides and grinds going at least 4 times as fast. Instead of using expensive skate shoes, use shoe goo. It's really nice and helpful. I've been using it for a year now and it is nice.
