i had no idea how good georgian wine is until i visited tbilisi. fantastic wine quality there. i want to go back again. the food there is also very good. the sheraton in tbilisi is a great hotel with very knowledgeable staff at the rooftop bar that can help you find your wine.
The Phesant Tears Tsolikouri was one of my favorite wines of 2020. Wild acid, goat-cheesey, citrus, lovely minerality and just fantastic acidity. Cool to see this oldie containing Phesant Tears. love it!
Amazing video matthew. I’m looking to visit Georgia this summer as well. Would you mind suggesting 2-3 winerys to visit? Maybe a couple that you’ve been to and really enjoyed 🤩 cheers!
@@tomguendert8471 No, our goals are the same but the reason Georgians don`t drink Saperavi is that, if you drink too much of it, your veins may explode.
I am looking for a red, white, and orange natural wine from the country of Georgia. What are a few popular ones of each and where can I find these? There are so many and I don’t know where to start.
Fresh Mtsvane makes wonderful fresh white wines. Reds you might want to go with Saperavi. Orange wines, there's plenty of them. Here are some free resources and link to our book which could be helpful too: You can check out their website. @@drmatthewhorkey Great info! Also, are you familiar with the website primal wines? They seem to be very popular and just looking to get your thoughts/reviews!

Good to hear, I love Lagvinari for his Tsolikouri!
What an amazing country, one of my best journey ever.
Great country indeed!

You can check out several that are in this video!
just had a Georgian Vismino Saperavi wine from Tesco UK, and it was fantastic and one of the darkest wines i've seen.
That’s right! The grape has dark skins and dark flesh, giving wine deep color.
You should always drink only a few glasses of Saperavi. Nobody drinks Saperavi in Georgia to get drunk.
@@eagleeye182 i think our goals might be different lol

What about natural semi sweet wines like Khvanchkara and Kindzmarauli?
We've tasted several, but our favorite natural sweet wine from Georgia is Usakhelauri.
Usakhelauri is rare and expensive wine
Yes it is, but it's delicious
Usakhelauri (known as Mandaria's Wine) Mandaria is my last name 🤗 From Lechkhumi 💖 Glad you liked it :)

Грузинские вина, надо пить в Грузии произведённые в домашних условиях, а Армения к винам Грузии никакого отношения не имеет!
