TAG rampages are definitely a thing. Two rules notes: all templates ignore cover that's why you often use the blast mode on the HRL, the dodge bonus on Riot Grrls is on the dodge roll not the distance, if it says dodge(+2") then it would be distance. A few recommendations, firstly I recommend reading the rules for suppressive fire, it's the best way to keep troops alive when it's not your turn. Secondly when you dodge you can go anywhere, in this case dodging into CC with the TAG may have been a good choice as it if it's in CC it can't shoot. Third recommendation is to be aware of the good ranges for different weapons, moving the Suryat HRL forward only hurt it's ability to shoot, if you kept it in it's original position it could have ARO'ed the Stigmata and delayed it.
2:43 There is a lot of context (matchup, mission, skill difference, table setup, etc.) to choosing if you want to go first/second (or even choosing deployment vs. initiative in the first place). But the shorthand is simply: If you deploy first, go first. That way your opponent can't counter deploy AND abuse weakenesses directly.
Since new players tend to struggle with defending against aggression my most simple advice would be to try to deploy most/all troopers in total cover (behind corners, in buildings, prone on top of buildings, etc.) so that the attacker has to spend more orders moving around and digging the defenders out. Every order spent on move-moving can't be used to kill your troopers. Order-economy is a very important aspect of the game.
16:40 A successful dodge negates all effects of a Direct Template Weapon (like the flamethrower) - even if you can't physically move out of template range.
Really liking the coverage of all the different TRPG games on here. Always heard when starting out in a new system "You learn more from what you did wrong." You have to go back and reread the rules. "I get you next time" as the cheesy line goes.
It seems more daunting then it is. Most locals are very supportive of new players. Realistically you just need to be okay with losing your first handful of games unless also playing against a beginner. There is usually an ahaha moment where things click for people coming from other game systems. Also with a new edition dropping in a few weeks now is the best time
@@obyiscushobbyandgaming It isn't really about a concern for losing, it's more I can't figure out how to make an army, or which models are still being made and of the models I do have they're this metal which is more difficult to work with/paint. I love the way they look.
I’m happy to see Infinity continue on this channel. Hoping to see my Haqq show up sometime.

Infinity for the people! 🎉
thumbs up for more infinity content
Heck yes!
17:32 Using Parachutist is an Entire Order skill therefor it's not allowed to do anything else in addition to that (like Place Deployable).
Yes we did fix that when we noticed it .
Really interested in learning infinity since I started collecting morats
I wish infinity wasn't so difficult to get into. Pretty much impossible to jump into it from the outside.
Grab a friend who also has zero experience!
