The minimalist approach they took in this version--well, it paid off in the acting, but the music really loses a lot of emotional impact when it's not done with an orchestra as it was written to be. You notice especially in this song, at the "And my Lucy" part. Very strong, emotional part in the other versions, but this one has to have it almost all carried by the actor.

Actually before this she performed with George Hearn which is much better than how she did here
