- Have you ever wanted a driving sim setup but are as broke as a chipmunk's balls? Are you also a hoarder? then watch this video. you won't get a driving sim setup but you'll learn how to make your own out of the landfill materials from Toy Story 3.
Oh boy building this sure was difficult and took a long time. the good news is that if you subscribe i will release the puppies in my basement from being used as fossil fuels for my eco-friendly puppyMobile 9000

Peak youtube engineering. Next you should make a flight sim.
For sure!! That be so cool!!!!
Fr
That’s so much easier
Pretty sure someone already did with lego and a mouse
Boeing engineering
this is peak engineering.
engineer gaming
the germans need to collab with this above average joe
@@EM1-CIVIC no we dont. atleast our cars now shit. volkswagen is more just wagen now lol
The 40 bucks for a used non force feedback wheel sounds real worth it compared to the mental suffering the building would cause
but the mental suffering is part of the fun! 😀
u can get rlly cheap ones for like 15 lol
@@hardstuckguy I got a hori mario kart wheel and pedals for 15, absolutely worth it, much better than a controller
I got a Logitech driving force pro for 30 bucks, great driving wheel, but my g29 is still better than
@@airwizwoz doesnt it have like 1s lag? I remember that from BillyCherokee´s review
Budget racing sim on midnight racing tokyo is funny asf
lore accurate shitbox simulator
He ran a budget simrig on a budget simulator...
He is the one.
mrt is free 😭

Your braincells cost money.
And I lost a lot because of MRT
If hell had an accurate representation it would be playing iracing on this setup.
Still better than a controller
“Tako_balls™ made this in a cave…. With a shit load of cardboard!”
it sure seems like it
bro casually built a functioning racing setup , awesome dude !

Aa a fellow bootlegger, I approve. I have actual equipment lol. But, I use my wheel as a throttle in flightsim, and I bought a 5$ broken stick back in 2019 and cut the spring, replaced the sensor with an idential one I found in another broken flightsim thing I had (it literally just plugged in), and to this day, I just use rubber bands for the return to center action.
For the longest time too, I had been using a bottlecap and a hair tie to keep the wire in my PS4 controller.
Over the years I can remember tinkering around with all sorts of crap for gaming, but I can't even remember half of what I did.
Being poor, actually gives you a surprising amount to do, as it turns out.
i’ve done this before, i have a theoretical solution for the misalignment of the wheel, instead of using an optical mouse you could use a trackball mouse because it makes physical contact with the pipe. Or you could go a more expensive and complicated route and get a rotary encoder or potentiometer and connect it to an arduino board. For the Caster return u can connect a spring to the pipe. so when u turn it either way it’s gonna recenter, the stiffer the spring the faster it returns. keep it up
those are actually great ideas tysm for the suggestions! i've seen a couple others suggest arduino so I'm definitely gonna check it out 👍
@Tako_Balls if you want to use a arduino, use a leonardo or pro micro because they have native hid support (hid is the way mouses keyboards and controllers)
but if youre going to use a arduino you can also make it use analog controls (like a wheel)
Bro I just have to say that you have finally found the words none of us have been able to put together. The age old question all of us get "why do you do this? why don't you do it for real?" Your answer was fucking mint xD
Back when I started sim racing, I used to try and build my own steering wheel and it worked for a while until I got fed up with the wheel not recalibrating to the centre. What you did with the programming honestly would've made me happy back then. The pedals were quite cool to see since you added springs while I just placed my keyboard on the floor and just the keys with my bare foot. I tried making a shifter but I couldn't find a way to implement it smoothly and abandoned the idea. After a while, I finally got myself a T300RS and the quality is definitely better and it was definitely worth it. Low budget sim racing builds will always have a place in my heart
How the fuck does this video not have more views, this is peak UA-cam engineering and very educated and intelligent humour. Awesome video
thanks!
Give the man some time, yt is oversaturated with dogshit content that these type of well made videos only cater to the niches
The comedy, editing, creativity, the determination to create something out of nothing and have it work is quite impressive. SUBSCRIBED!
Bro your editing is so cursed, it’s incredibly good.
the editing is actually crazy good nice video bro
i actually love this video so much the comedy is peak, and i wonder why this doesnt have millions of views
This is peak level content editing, loved the entire video!
bruh this guy is on another league sorry for breathing the same air as you u will be famous soon man keep up :)
Why is bro underrated like bro I didn't even know you could do this also u got w drifting skill
incredible depth, your research really shows in your videos!
Great video! A while back I made my own handbrake from a micro switch from an old microwave and a pcb board from an old keyboard. I soldered it together and mapped the button to a key on the keyboard and assembled it on a handbrake i bought from online for 15. It worked great for a few months but proved un reliable as i had to re-solder it multiple times. I recently bought a used usb handbrake. Im planning on making a sequential shifter with the same switches and my old handbrake. Im using an arcade usb encoder this time instead of a pcb board and its proving to be much better. If you plan on making a 3rd DIY sim setup I would highly recommend doing this way.
If anyone wants to get into sim racing I would really recommend used. I bought my sim setup which included a Thrusmaster T300RS, T8HA shifter, T3PA pedals and a sim cockpit for 350. Also I got a triple monitor setup for free just because someone was going to throw it out anyways. So you can get some good deals if you look. Loved the video Asian Micheal Reeves. I would post the links i used to build the handbrake and shifter but youtube isn't letting me post the link or title.
When your part moves, use plugs on PCBs instead of soldering wires to them. Wire wears out VERY quickly at solder joints. Also flux paste. Lots of flux.
lmao That jerma jumpscare made me spill water all over.
how it only has a thousand views? I watched the whole video and had a great time, keep it up and you will go far!
thanks for the kind words brother
yeah dude. your channel is gonna be huge. first time watching. this was great!!
i love that ur playing mrt one of my fav roblox games lol ( because i spent too much time on it)
no way its the funny roblox racing game by the devs of the gem!!111!!! (seriously great video, keep it up. im sure youll pop off in the future with your unique editing style)
he looks like tim henson if tim henson decided he didnt want tattoos
Honestly, like no shit. I think these DIY racing setups are much much more impressive than those 1000$+ setups. It requires more skill to do something like that than building a 1000$ setup.
the jschlatt guy budget racing on a ROBLOX GAME is WILD
Peak UA-cam entertainment haha! Great work :)
this got in my reccomended, peak simracing rig right there.
I just found your channel and your editing is lowkey hilarious I can tell a lot of effort got put into this video. keep it up
thank you!
Keep it up bro this is peak content 🙏🙏 ngl I'd do this if I had a smidge of intelligence but imma just buy a g29 lmao
Peak editing, commentary, and everything else 😂
Gonna make a flight sim rig using Lego Technic now, thanks for the idea!
Midnight racing Tokyo mentioned🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Bro you got me dying 💀
idk if its because i'm watching this at 2am or what, but this was freaking hilarious
"I can't explain it, I'm driving better while drunk." Is the realest quote ever.
10/10 video, passion, fun, creativity, you have a new follower sir
my new favorite sim rig out there
best set up ive seen
Props to someone actually using MR:T as footage.
HOPES AND DREAMS MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🗣️
I throught you had atleast 1mil, you underated all love man.
i thought ur gonna rack and pinion the mouse, but seeing what you did youre clearly universes ahead of my puny 5minutecraft brain, hats off to you
this is incredible bro😭😭😭 pls keep ts up
Mom can we buy a sim racing setup?
Mom: we already have a setup
The setup at home:
7:57 blud just leaving the clutch was insane 💀
This is perfection. Next is "building a fully working porsche 911 that runs on hopes and dreams"
found this randomly, great content and big props cuz those wheels set ups are stupid expensive for a good one
I will never complain about my setup again after seeing this
Bro's rocking a triple monitor setup but can't afford a simple Sim wheel and pedals for 50 bucks? Huh?😂
will be using this method to make my very own handbrake
bro you're gonna grow hell if you keep up the memes and quality
I just finished completing my aluminum profile rig and simucube wheel base, should’ve built something like this honestly.
in 48 second you made me die of laughter. Just for that here is my sub
Bro cant afford steering wheel for 2k but he has apple keyboard for same price. XD
But this is porsche level engineering.
thats not à apple keyboard
@@jeromefischer6490 yes it is🤫
ngl this is very creative
Somebody get this man a case of beers and car keys!
Great video and funny too! I also have a sim driving setup mostly made out of cardboard. But i suggest you use cardboard for the steering wheel, it might be a little harder to make but it will feel better and more durable
Damn bro this genius, instead of buying a cheap wheel I'll just buy 15 keyboards and destroy everything in my house, thanks for the tips!
Yo the plarail set stering wheal is crazy man
This is impressive and I’m not trying to discredit you but you can get a really good used entry level for like 70 bucks. That’s definitely worth it in my opinion
most entertaining video I've watched in a while you deserve way more attention
This guy deserves more subs, this is a great video
Very Well done!!!🎉
i love that you are watching isaccwhy (im assuming) while making a driving sim that looks like a IED
The kids in my iracing lobbies:
This is one of the videos of all time
Its a funky looking yeeyee ahh setup but this is nasa engineering😂
Honestly quite incredible
Also lol roblox
i was expecting controllers triggers for analog control but still, amazing dedication
Good Job my guy, you are fucking underrated.
THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO THE ONLY ISSUE I FACED WAS THE MOUSE OVERSTEER THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN'
The design is very human
This was an amazing video im surprised by your creativity
u shd use ur clutch, overall amazing video
As a MRT player, this video is literally the banter we get up to.
Man this is awesome content, keep it up, you remind me of michael reeves
that’s an honor thank you
"You tell me where we start,
where we going,
where we going afterwards,
i'll give you five minutes when we get there.
Anything happens in that five minutes and i'm yours no matter what,
anything happens a minute either side of that and you're on your own.
I don't sit in while you're running it down,
I don't carry a gun, i drive!"
MRT is wild, I loved racing the r-34 with the foxbody. It's ashame that they nerfed it again 😢
Is this what they call, engineer gaming?
this doesn't run on hope on dreams, it crawls with it's balls castrated.
Bro made a Nintendo Labo wheel on his own 💀
Heh, i made one 2 years ago.
Everything was made out of lego and wheel used a mouse, pedals used a controller and shifter + handbrake used a keyboard.
Surprisingly it was not as flimsy a tou might think, it didn't even brake when i let my friend drive with it.
Bro is really underrated
bro is underrated
My guy is for real
I'm mirin
if you ever get a 3d printer you could probably fix most of these problems
underrated video
Thanks for the tutorial, I will now brake every keys on my keyboard
I liked this video 👍I ate food to this video (this is very rare) (will be subscibing)
Alright you just gave me enough idea to make similar one for mysef
This gives old michael reeves vibes, love it.
Now what you need is budget vr. Using your phone and vrbox to play pcvr games.
I remember doing the steering wheel with cardboard and one of those wheel covers I got from like autozone. Also a fellow MR:T enjoyer I see.
Yo reallly great vid, and insanely good editing. I also have a question. Do you happen to know what your mic is?
fifine usb microphone, but it's not the mic that does the lifting, it's the filters in obs i've set
This is awesome! I did a similar thing a while back where I made a wheel out of parts I had lying around my house. The wheel was made of Knex pieces and was so incredibly fragile it felt like it'd break if I breathed on it wrong. Posted it on the r/simracing subreddit. Still my best Reddit post ever lol
lmao that’s sick! shtbox sim superiority
i struggled with wheel durability too when i made the first one so i doubled down on it this time around lol
