I love the film musics of Underground and Black Cat White Cat. Kind of the same feeling "folk music with a modern touch". Those thrills of the accordion melodies of Balkans is very interesting, It is so fast for me to even understand, yet play on for example on guitar. I also love woman vocals with two or more singing at the same time. The funny part is, the music of Turkey is largely a blend of Greek, Arabic and Iranian (and maybe Kurdish, Armenian etc), all cultures that are geographically close to Europe and have had several millennia of connection to it, yet the music of the steppe Turkic peoples is a lot closer to European medieval/folk music 😅
