Dont hear much about Hobbyking anymore. I am still rocking their HK486 4 port multicharger and rolling my Basher Sabertooth.
They got .... shafted by Traxxas and then the feds over fpv transmitters.

Actually I am a little bit confused whether there is (still) a EU warehouse or not. We had one in the Netherlands for a few years but I think it's closed. There are some blogs on HK website mentioning a new warehouse in 'the heart of Europe' but they don't say where or when. And I can't find any items that can be shipped from EU... weird.
Yeah, that is strange... I don't know anything about that one, unfortunately. 🤷♂️

That I don't know... I know it's in NSW, and I think it's in Sydney somewhere, but I don't have any information to confirm or deny that.

You talking about the Excalibur? I believe that's just out of stock, not discontinued. At least, I hope not. They only updated it a year or 2 ago and it's definitely one of my favourite planes. 😎 And yes, I have one.

So they closed their Australian warehouse last year to re-open it next year and the UK one was closed end of 2021 according to info I could find 🤷
Just checked and the AU warehouse can still not ship the Lipo batteries to NZ.. What a shame if true. Can someone please confirm?
Yes, this is true. I believe it's written in their shipping terms on their page.

Having worked in a hobby shop myself while the previous Aus warehouse was open, I can't even begin to tell you how much this doesn't matter. Different demographics.
@@AussieRCPlayground that makes no sense, I've owned a model shop for 20 years in the UK I can't see why it would be any different in Australia. I get it though they are sponsoring your channel and it's a business. I remember when they came about in the UK and they started taking a lot of business away from aircraft shops and probably still do, I don't bother with the aircraft stuff much as I'm not a flyer.
LoL. Why would I lie about this? I saw it first hand; the customers that shopped at HobbyKing are not the same people that shop in a hobby shop. In fact, I found it amazing how some of HK customers would come to the shop for service and advice. In some ways, HK having a warehouse helped local hobby shops because it would get people to come in and get a face-to-face service and advice they will never get from an online shop (not just HK). HobbyKing and local hobby shops don't stock the same products, so they cater to different people. Sure, there is some crossover with batteries, chargers and power systems, but help and advice is unmatched. The shop I worked at also did repairs, so customers quickly learnt the benifits of buying from a local hobby shop as we wouldn't do repairs on RCs they bought from online shops or if they were a product we didn't stock or couldn't get parts for.

Blaming ONLY HobbyKing for loss of battery sales seems a bit unfair when there are heaps of other online stores such as CNHL, Ovonic and eBay, and more.

Reminds of a better time when HK sold great value ground based vehicles like the BZ888, the Trooper & Nitro Circus vehicles.
Man, I'd love to see some of those make a comeback. The Trooper (specifically) was one of the best/worst SCTs of its time. LoL. I wish I had kept mine. For sure I wouldn't be able to get parts today, but I'd love to have it just for the nostalgia and the memories I had with it. Despite its flaws, it was such a cheap, fun truck to have for a muck around. 😁 I loved it, with warts and all.
And the same could be said for the BZ888, the Basher Nitro Circus trucks, the Sabertooth and the Berzerker. I don't know if any will make a return in one form or another, but if wishing Wells were real, I'd be lining up to drop some coins in it. LoL.
Will the bsr rally make a return ?
I don't have any inside info on what will or will not be making a return, but it would be nice to see some of their older models getting a makeover over the journey. Let's see what happens... 🤷♂️
