- BioWare just released new footage teasing the next upcoming Mass Effect game. No date release was announced. Check it out along with all the previous teaser videos released in the past. As far as we know, this game is currently being developed in Unreal Engine 5 instead of Frostbite.

It's from current Bioware, I have ZERO expectations. same goes for the upcoming Dragon's Age game.

Games always get announced way too early and then companies go radio silent with all the annoying teases. What’s even more upsetting is that it’ll be out in 2029. What if the game is not worth it after all?

Considering the Andromeda Initiative was essentially a galactic backup, it wouldn't make sense to make more than a historical note for them, unless Mass Effect technology got really, really good to travel back and forth in a really, really quick order. I have no idea when this takes places, but I saw the trailer and who looked to be like Dr. Liara in a matron garb. Given the longevity of the Asari, this might mean the game is set way in the future. She, and maybe Wrex, might be the only surviving member(s) left of the original crew. There had better be a huge monument to the original crew's achievements.

They would need a warp drive to travel to andromeda, unless they got an mass relay there, cuz if they would just propell the spaceship(not the space around it sic!) Then for the spaceship crew they would arrive to andromeda insantenously, and for the observators in the Milkyway 2.5 million years would pass.
Time Dilatation (when you travel at the speed of light you are in every point in space in the exact same moment.
Shep could still be kicking, heck anyone could be really. Shep literally "survived" raw dogging planetary reentry and suffocation. lol
@@darthmocap expect, luckily, Shep was only mostly dead then. Plus, it would depend on which ending was canon in ME 3.
I just completed the mass effect trilogy for the first time and came across this when looking up questions I had about the endings. I hope they let you import your decisions from the trilogy. My favorite ending is the one where Shepard controls the reapers and I’d love to see how that pans out just as much as destroying them.
Unfortunately there was a QnA regarding that, but like the Anderson and udina decision from ME1 not actually happening in 3. The ending some people may have selected won't happen. The ME4 game takes place after the Destroy Ending which is the "Canonical" ending.
Damn. It’s a fine ending. Just kinda undermines the entire geth arc for the people who went that route.
@kodymcgrath8002 kinda does but kinda doesn't, see unlike EDI who has a tangible bit of hardware. If you did the extended cut ending, the geth are still very much present. All be as bits of software and not hardware, remember they're data, they likely would need their servers fixed and they'd be fine.
As for EDI she was made using reaper hardware, if you watched the audio logs on the cerberus station. And that her core functions come from that, so when the reapers died she died

@@illtakethatasacompliment5839 The sad part is, Destroy was always meant to be the Canon ending. Control and Synthesis were just alternate realities, at no point in ME2 does shepherd actually agree that Controlling the reapers is a good thing. And at no point in ME3 does he change his mind about that.
This confirms “Destroy” is canon.

Feeling really excited for this new upcoming mass effect game. It’s one of my favourite game of my entire life. I played the trilogy many many times and also andromeda. I can’t wait for it. I hope Shepard will be back
I bought and played Mass Effect LE for a few months and it was an amazing experience in both gameplay and story (the characters are also very memorable, and i can't believe that i missed out such a wonderful experience). im excited to see where this is going, i feel BioWare is picking up where they left off from the original trilogy (especially from that short Liara reveal scene). but there is a worry I have because of what happened to Anthem...but I really hope they can pull this one off.

I think it will be neither.
Most likely they will try Rainbow Six style, or a mixed agent like Splinter Cell to hype up the N7 name.
Honestly, I'm hardly interested in this organization, they need to really try harder on the role-playing component than just making it a plastic action movie.

Sometimes in life you just have to accept that it's over. That trilogy had it's time. There's a recent trend of these types of games failing miserably of late. Just hit us with a remake of the original trilogy if anything.
They literally just did that in 2021
I've always thought if Bioware wouldn't listen haters back in 2017, Andromeda would be a good game we could remember these days, they could have done it better a second game; but it was over at that time and nowadays I'm still hoping for a second part even if I know it's quite improbable.

My thoughts:
Look at the helmet and the hands. There wasn't a helmet in the universe that small to fit a human, and the hands are Def robotic

Cannon I believe was Paragon ending so reapers in a sense we're not destroyed and the relays were getting repaired by reapers bcuz shep took control of them

This series really should've ended on brilliant MS3. I remember being so excited for Andromeda and then being so disappointed when it came out... Hate ESG bs.
Anyway, lemme guess - the protagonist is now a disabled transgender woman of color and they fight straight space nazism or whatever and game will also feature microtransactions.
We remember bioware, we remember EA, what you did with andromeda. Leaving one of the biggest franchises to devs who had never done anything huge before to go make Anthem, a live service greed machine that the gamers had seen through. Mass effect died at the end of ME3.
I will not purchase this game with an EA badge on the front cover.

So you guys all know I started playing this game at Mass Effect 2. Then I got 3 and then bought the whole series. I loved 1 but hated the Truck driving that thing is a POS. Love 2 but hated how they took the leveling and skill points down the way they did. I loved being able to actually build my characters the way I wanted, 3 was PERFECT except the ending. Before they patched it that ending really really REALLY SUCKED. Andromeda was a COLOSSAL FAILURE. They should have NEVER went that direction. Let us run some Turians or Asari. Don't keep us stuck in human form. I love variety. NO MASSIVE OPEN WORLD STUFF EITHER. I don't mind multi player but that should be a players choice not mandatory. Keep it single player maybe add co-op and/or multiplayer.
Coop was super fun back in the day Geth Juggernaut was unstoppable

Anything made in UE5 is automatically 10 times better to me. The quality of the graphics, the fluidity of the engine. Sure it's demanding, but I salivate at the thought of Elder Scrolls 6 being made in UE5 in some alternate universe. I won't be able to play it if the Bethesda engine jank is there. It's really what made Starfield feel like it was ten years older than it is.

So basically, you know nothing about game development, I can make the crapiest shovelware in any engine, EU5 included, the reason Starfield feels outdated is not the engine, it will still feel the same in the EU5 due to the Bethesda formula itself being outdated.
Learn to recognize the engine for what it is, a tool, you will still need skilled people to make proper use of it, and make something worth the time with it.
@@Inferryu Nah, it's the stiff jankess in the engine. I can live with the dialogue. I like nanite and lumen a lot. Makes the game look very good, extremely detailed, and the lighting look very realistic. Also the fluidity like I said. Which is the engine. Thanks for your opinion though.
Is that why IW Cod's and Treyarch's CoD's feel different or perhaps Battlefield feel different? Is that why Cryengine has a certain jank to it that IWengine doesn't? The games feel different because of the engine.

And the point is, AAA titles should be using the latest and greatest. Those unwilling to accept change are left behind. That's Bethesda. As much as I love the ES series, I won't bother buying 6 because we need to have higher standards as gamers. If you made a AAA title one in Unity versus one in UE5, they would feel like completely different games. Especially noticeable if you made one in Creation Engine 2 vs UE5.

There's literally no basis for an argument. Take Starfield. Create the same game using the same format in Creation Engine 2 versus UE5. The game would feel entirely different. The core fundamentals of the game, I can live with. How the game is played is what you are calling a formula while thinking that is the engine. The engine is how the game runs. Merely based on your first comment. Starfield felt like an outdated game on day one because the engine is outdated. The style of the game has nothing to do with how the game runs. Same as I love Dark Souls games. However, if they were remastered in UE5 they would be much better. That's why I would rather play the new Lords of the Fallen, whether it's as good as Dark Souls or not. Even comparing Elden Ring to DS is a massive difference in the complete overhaul of the engine that has substantially noticeable improvements. Whereas, CE1 to CE2 has the same noticeable jank to it.
Here I'll even layman's it further. The GPU is what makes the game pretty and make it enjoyable to look at. That is comparable to dialogue, interactions, world design, features, etc. The CPU creates the world for all those things to exist. That would be the engine. How the character moves, how you interact with the world, how stiff or fluid the world is, how smooth animations are, etc. See you make a bold statement claiming I basically don't understand game development, but you just told on yourself. I like UE5 so much because of the engine itself and the fluidity it provides games made within it, and the features that make very noticeable improvements to how the game is graphically presented.
And if you don't understand that analogy. It would be no different than Coke and Pepsi saying carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, and sugar are the formula. Comparable to the engine. When that is just a baseline for all soda. The formula is the amount of sugar and their flavorings that distinguish the difference between them. The rudimentary basis is still the same no matter what soda you drink, that the foundation is Carbonated water, HFCS, and Sugar. That is the engine.
