Orion messed up in a way too, D16 already lost control of himself and all he wanted was revenge against Sentinel to make things right but Orion sacrificed himself to stop D16 from going too far but there was no point, D just needed that one push which made us lose him and now we have Megatron

This moment absolutely shocked everyone in my theatre so much that you could legitimately hear the gasping😱. Brian Tyree Henry truly delivered such emotion and pain playing D-16/Megatron. You practically see his thought process in his eyes when he saved Orion, it was just pure instinct as it was an accident, and he was remorseful at first but when he saw the bot who he loved like a brother protecting a lying monster like Sentinel Prime all he could think about was confusion, sadness, anger, pain and betrayal knowing that he cant even rely on Orion to agree with him after all the injustice Sentinel has caused, and at that moment he couldn't take the mental toll and finally snapped becoming Megatron. It honestly makes sense since D-16 has stuck his neck out for Orion so many times and covered for his recklessness despite how much Orion cared about D-16, like when they got knocked out by Darkwing or how Orion convinced D-16 into the race; he clearly didn't like doing it but still chose to stick by Orion. But after all the lies, the pain, the injustice and the death he's been forced to endure, I can't say that I blame him for what he did to Sentinel. It hurts more knowing that Orion saw how selfish he was and wanted to make up for all his mistakes; no longer wants to be as selfish as Sentinel was and become a better person, so he tries to save his friend from making a mistake, but it's too late. The storytelling/character arcs were so great in this movie

What’s so great about this film is the second half is where everything changed. It was no longer a fun comedy with robots making jokes, it became a hardcore drama that showed the end of a friendship and the beginning of an intense rivalry. This is what makes the film so great.
