I'm getting a open sight 2" group at 30 Yds with 17gr Ruger Super points with the Maxx Elite. Still trying to get tighter but its better for me than this older version Maxx. I couldn't get this Maxx to group better than a 12 guage shot spread at 30 Yds. and I tried everything from 20 different loads to 5 different optics, (red dots, 3x9s, and springer rated). Even removed the muzzle device crowned the barrel and reassemblied the whole damn thing. I gave up. I was more confident in this Max`s aluminum weaver/pic adapter but the Elite, with the weird plastic Pic thing , is outperforming it. I like that you started off by confirming that you bore brushed the barrel. These things come full of gunk from the Mfg`s.

At 30 yards, open sights i can group them within 2 inches

Definitely an iguana gun inside 10 yds with open sights. I've found Jsb pellets to group the best in over 30 some airguns I've had in the last 7 yrs. H&N's have run a close second in a few. My blind ass would have to slap a 3-9x32 UTG Bug Buster Compact on that baby, try some Jsb's and see if I could make it a 20 yd Iguana gun. Those Bug Busters will focus down to 3 yds, the perfect scope for shooting grasshoppers at 3 to 10 yds. Wine corks at 20yds were my target of choice with springers. But once I discovered PCP's now it's wine corks and even grapes at lasered 40 to 50 yds. Of course that's scoped, front bipod and rear bag. As for coyote, I wouldn't use anything less the 45 foot pounds at the muzzle and that energy will be cut almost in half by the time it reaches 50 yds. I figure that Ruger is pushing close to 20 fpe at the muzzle give or take an foot pound or two. One way I look at it is to shoot a 1/2 inch sheet of plywood at a predetermined yardage and if the pellet will go through it then I'd say it's safe to say it will kill a coyote or small hog at that distance.(well placed head shot of course) A test I did recently was with a 22 pushing 30 fpe and it would go through a 5/8 plywood at 25 yds easy, so I would say it's a coyote gun at 25 yds.

Yep. This is the gun that I use in the back of the car for Dispatching iguanas . And again as they say everything is relative. As I have stated in the past most of my shots are Zero Lot lines in the 7-10 yard range. Surgical ... As for the UTG bug buster.. Hell yes . A scope that is on, wont break the bank and is a stable for my long range guns. The Airforce Condor, and the Brocock. My go to is the Hatsan 10-44 QE in .22 Open site.... Ill have to bump up my long range game one of these days.. I have just found it easier to acquire sight picture and not lose track of the iggies in the trees with that open sight set up.. Thanks for the input. Keep it coming

@@charlesmeier6691 Hard to beat those UTG/Leapers scopes. I don't have any left because every time I have sold a gun that had one on it, the buyer wanted the complete set up! Even got a friend who won the 2019 FT nationals (Hunter Class) with UTG scope sitting on a custom Gen 1 Marauder.
Daystate sponsors him now. Can't have an old Marauder whooping up on these new fangled Daystates, but I believe he still uses a UTG on his Daystate.

I can not get my iron sights to fire pin point accurate at 25yds...but I had a scope and it's on point but wanna try iron sights but not zeroing it in at all! I am using 14.3 gr. Hollowpoints.

Nope, I bet you set your iron sights up around 10 feet..and then when you choot at 25 feet it drops. Because that's Exactly what I do. And then I Re-adjust it for 25 feet..and if I choot at 50 feet, I hold just above the target 🎯..try crosman hollow points pellets..that's a good hitting rifle. Even the Ruger airhawk elite 2..it hits even harder. .I haven't had no problem with either rifle because I blue lock tight everything on mine and they hold up just fine..

Idk about a dime but mine will put 5 in a quarter size point at exactly 20 yards …. I use the scope it came with and all kinds of pellets… it’s not picky at all. I think the box says it’ll get 1050 fps with alloy pellets but best I’ve gotten was between 930-950 with I think they were 9.5 grain lead free pellets but those are not in the list of quarter size groups maybe from 10 yards and no wind…. Mine has dirt napped countless birds, snakes, a rabbit , countless raccoons and even a fox. The fox was my best. One shot at somewhere between 40-50 yards one shot that’s probably the farthest I’d shoot at anything big with it if you can hunt with a rest you probably be at least 80 percent accurate all my kills were off hand minus maybe a raccoon or two… I also have the air hawk elite .177 I had mine for about 4 1/2 years the air hawk was less fortune but I got another on both the trigger is terrible 🤷‍♂️ definitely worth $140 assuming you get one that works and the barrel is straight. I’ve heard stories and bad things about the customer service. I have had good luck with mine tho so all considered you can get better but you can definitely get worse
