I own a Hydrasynth Explorer and can confirm -- sound design dream. I was amazed at how intuitive it was to use and actually led to helping me better understand how synths work more overall.
Nice. The deluxe has been on my radar for a while and the Explorer seems to have all the same heft. On a side note, I've found phase plant has opened my understanding to how sound design works exponentially, much the same as you have found with the Explorer. Perhaps I'll be marrying the two soon
Great to hear, that's definitely what it seemed like with my limited time with it. Definitely something I'd like to check out more!
I still need to check out phase plant @smilingerrors. I really liked the Deluxe, but I think it'd be a bit too big in my workflow. I love how all the different versions seem to have a lot of internal similarities!
Hydrasynth - you are mostly correct. the Deluxe allows split keyboards(I think it has two sound engines) and I don't think the smaller ones do that. (my Explorer doesn't) but it is a sound designer's dream.... you can spend hours coming up with interesting and unusual sounds. I love the Hydrasynth.
Ah that's great to hear, thanks for the clarification! I love the idea that they have similar internal builds but largely differ on performance needs. I saw a chart on their website that gives a list of difference, looks like some may have different voice counts as well, but all polyphonic. The Hydrasynth looks so sick! Definitely added to my gear wants list haha
Thumb up to the Seqtrak
That looks promising, definitely like seeing more options in that $300-$500 price point. Are you planning to get one?
