- Hello I'm back with an interesting new video to my collection. This is simply an 8-bit remake of the final battle between samus and Mother Brain (mechanical body form) as seen in the Super Metroid game. Also, thanks everyone for the great comments. Enjoy!
You can also watch the original mother brain battle gameplay at the following link:
• Super Metroid - Mother...
samus: "fuck the hyper beam, I'll use missiles"
and thus created HYPER MISSILES.

it was hyper mode
you don't make this remake battle , how you make this it
Yep

LOL!!
Yeah baby
Transparency on the NES?
I don't think so.
I've never seen any rotation on the NES either.
Until recently.
Someone did a test ROM featuring this, it was legit rotation, including scaling. However, it was VEEEEEERY slow.

scroll to the TECHNICAL SAMPLES section. Some stuff in there really amazed me.
It isn't opacity, it's a darker color of it.

@@鳩ø talking about the attacks
Lol
Man this is good! In an era where beating the final boss involved jumping over them (Mario) or sitting in a corner mashing A (Zelda) this would have stood out as a top tier boss fight up there with Castlevania.
>Made it through Tourian with only the Long Beam? Blasphamy
+Shanoa Belnades Possible but fucking torture.
Not really. Neither the titular Metroids nor the magma are threatening in terms of damage, rushing through shouldn't be that hard.
Could you adjust what beams you used in this game like you could in Super Metroid?
@@AmbrosiaDreamWeaver No, the only way to switch to another beam is to find that beam again. Which also means they don't stack either.
The animations are too smooth to be 8-bit.
I was gonna say the same thing
Too qualified for the job
The audio is too advanced as well
But hey we got something
Its fake, its a fan made video, real game is different

Underrated comment
Lmao
i'll be honest, I unlocked the original Metroid on my Zero Mission cart and you could literally not pay me to play through it after having so much fun with Zero Mission's controls (which aren't even as tight as they are in Metroid Fusion)
As a guy who beat the first Metroid like three or four times and still enjoyed, I can confirm it's horrible compared to the remake. But hey, Mother Brain looks amazing and seeing an almost-naked Samus is satisfying
It's a shame that the original Metroid's aged so badly. I'd love to finish it properly, but the controls and speed are so frustrating now.
I just played through it for the first time. The controls and game speed are just fine- the engine is surprisingly tight! It is the complete lack of direction which kind of sucks (I got hella lost), but I guess you can use a walkthrough to help with that.
Are you nuts? This is one of the most well developed examples of software in video game history. This thing absolutely cooks, even on 6502 and the soundtrack is a masterpiece. I still find myself exploring the 'secret' levels on my toploader.
Tony Brandt Well, I'm someone who went straight from the fluidity, speed and smoothness of Super Metroid to this. It's very jarring. Maybe if I tried now, after not playing Super Metroid for a while, I might cope better, but Super Metroid is in a completely different league gameplay-wise.
Ok so I may be biased as it is my favorite game of all times, like all NES games it slows down when there are too many sprites. I am also a huge fan of Super Metroid, mainly because of the reset exploit.
leerobbo92 I'd not say it aged badly, but the technology and ideas brought by Super Metroid were so incredibles and huge that both Metroid and Metroid II looks quite dated if you discovered Super Metroid first.
Both games are still extremely good however, for a NES game, Metroid is damn amazing, the gameplay is pure gold, but on the technical side, it was already not the best back then, and it definitely not improved nowadays: lots of slowdown, clipping, strange glitchs... Only real problem with the game itself is the lack of map of course, there's an awful lot of rooms that are copy/pasted all over the game (especially in Kraid and Ridley hideouts), making it difficult to know where you are if you are not fully focused on your playthrough. It's difficult, but not impossible, the biggest problem for me still is the game over, when you're on the beginning without much powerups, restarting from Kraid's lair with 30HP, it's just hell on earth (or in space :p ). For me this is the real problem with the original game.
Metroid II was very difficult too but because of the hardware this time, no colors to recognize the areas is quite complicated, once again you have to be fully focused on what you're doing if you want to get to the end...
But honestly, if you really, really like the Metroid universe, i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy both games, beginning is always the hardest part, once you figured out where are the first items and which path to go through, you'll remember what was so good on Super Metroid: exploration, rewarding gameplay and epic music ;D
Super awesome remake ! I played Metroid on the NES as a kid back when it came out in the 80's. I loved the NES Metroid and still do.
Mother brains been tasting the 8- bit rainbow. And been doing the giggity.
includes nuclear hula hoops
I renember watching this as a kid
Even if Super Metroid had been an 8-bit game that came out in the 80s, this scene right here would have blown everyone's minds XD
Even kept the NES color pallette limit, amazing

“Mother, time to go.”
Metroid Planets(A Metroid fan game based on NEStroid) have a fight like this only on Planet Novus.
+Patrick, Hey there's someone named "tbhartley" who took this video, said this was just a random animation he found on UA-cam before the vid, said SIX words over it being (When the Baby Metroid Died) "Oh no! Oh She's angry now!", in the description said "from metroid" and called it a "REACTION" literally said it all in caps.
HE DIDN'T EVEN CREDIT YOU! HE JUST SAID "from metrod" I QUOTE.
That's gotta be copyright infringement, right?
I did, I can't find the video anymore now so I think it got deleted.
tracy lieber my name is Patrick
Though it's an unpopular opinion, I always preferred Mother Brain's original NES design. There was just something so threatning about the two white eyes and the elephant tusks. I like the new Mother Brain, but at times she just looks like a cheesy 50's Sci-Fi movie monster.
XenoMorphic E I can't believe I found someone who agrees with me on that! Something about the way Mother brain looks in new metroid games doesn't have that I guess, threatening feeling anymore.
Blazing Burst I have no idea, I just like a lot of things. Sorry, am I bothering you? D:
Blazing Burst Oh, sorry :P.
I don't mean to creep you out.
XenoMorphic E She's always had only one eye...
TheBlazing Zard Nope. Check out some of the artwork in the manual for Metroid. She's got two eyes,
hyper beam = missiles
#LogicDoesntWork
Also wrong music after baby Metroid died
I noticed how you conveniently didn't use power beam but rockets. I wanna see 8 bit rainbow beam
An 8-bit version of Mother Brain's theme would seem very interesting to this style.
Thats too smooth to be 8-bit
I remember. I like calling it the Chameleon Sting because it reminds me of X's weapon when he charges it. He goes all rainbow colors, too. XD
Bro finished game without any items
Bad ass... A super Metroid 1 to 1 in 8-bit would be priceless.
0:51 here you can see Mother brain in a Slayer show. A true headbanger...
Super Metroid final battle in classic Metroid styled
WHOA, I didn't know I needed to see this until now!
I can think of ONE other thing.
The Vengeance Laser.
In Super Metroid, after Mother Brain kills off the Metroid, Samus not only gains the charged Chameleon Sting (joke.), she also gets a rainbow laser of pure angry, and I would've much liked to see that duplicated in this remake.
Still, this was excellent. And Kudos to whoever did the spritework for Mother Brain's 8-bit bod.
Are you combining games, because that’s megaman X
gotta say this boss looks a million times for fun than the current one
Idk if the NES sound chip would be powerful enough for the theme
Caught me off guard, I was like "but isn't this Super Metroid?"
man... a normal nes would have exploded with such animations
This was glorious! Nicely done! 🖖😀
The neck rotates which isn‘t possible on the NES, sadly this animation needs have a lot of rework done
I like how you went right to the boss confrontation/escape track instead of the heroic theme of Samus--in this context it has that "you're fucked now" feel to it as Samus lays waste to mother brain.
Hmmm... Interesting boss fight. 🤔
Metroid 3 Demake?
Super Metroid Demake?
Yet Another Metroid 2 Remake
Subpar Metroid
Wow this is so cool! I love NES Metroid and I still do now, Awesome remake!
when I first saw this I thought it looked weird because for some reason I just never saw the eye in mother brains design I just thought it was a big brain lol
Hey! That’s it! That’s the Mother Brain sprite I need for the Bowser in the Metroid style in Super Mario Maker!
0:39 but why mother brain is not rainbow, you can just change palette
I used to watch this a lot when I was in kindergarten, so nostalgic.
That's very nice! The music was good to this video, and the sound effects was awesome. Like when the metroid died, it was kinda sad when it made one last shriek when it died... great video! 7/5 stars. The NES Metroid should have more action in the last boss battle, but Mother Brain is just laying there in her jar-thingy. But this was action enough! :oD
This is fucking amazing
Love it! Well made!
If you thought the game lagged a lot before, just wait til you see this
I miss the days of old video gaming. The boss battles always had this nostalgic vibe unlike today games
The visuals reminds me of the creepypasta NES Godzilla
I was hoping there was a hack to play super metroid with NES Metroid graphics, this is pretty cool too, good job
When Samus went colored, the Mother Brain tried to fire a ring laser at it and it bounced off of Samus and back at Mother Brain. That was funny.
Nice one AnimationPatrick.
the bosses in that game always fucking scared me Dx
I like how u put Ridley theme right at the end of the battle
Man its Space pirates theme Bro :V
@@laisafontenele5676 ik
@@laisafontenele5676 ridley and pirates theme its the same thing (sorta)
I never even thought of something like this. Impressive.
This is fun to watch. I love the part at 1:33 when the blue ball bounces right off of Samus into the Mother Brain lmao. Good Job!
actually having this battle would made metroid on the top bad ass bosses for the nes
Did you make this by your self?
This is very good animation. Im sure people have been waiting for this. Lol
Missed opportunity to also make the music 8-bit
Dude this is long lost deleted footage!!!!! So DOPE! #MetroidLove
You forgot the speed runner using the murder beam to quick kill
I remember watching this way back
Man this showed up in my tl, i remember watching this awhile ago
Good might want a bigger metroid though
I don’t think this man knows how an NES works
he's not supposed to
LOL this was funny. Thanks for making it.
If Super Metroid Was Made For NES
Excellent work on the video senor!
Perfect
did you remake and actually fight? or is it like a flash movie?
0:51 why she waving her head like that
Probably to get the metroid off
Hey! Where is the 8 bit remix of Mother Brain's them? :D
that was awesome!!!!
Did you know Mother Brain's roar was from Anguris
Always cracks me up everytime I see this.
HAOO! It bounced back! >:D Give brain face a permanent headache!
You should demake The soudtrack too.
Great job!
holy shit that was frika awesomee
I would used the 8 bit version of the theme, but still good work.
Adam isn't introduced into the metroid sereis in the first game, and this is only an 8-bit remake of the final battle in metroid, not the actual game.
Holy shit, here she is invicible with reflect!
For 2011 this is pretty cool.
This is some what true, thats a fangame called Metroid planets and one of the new planets has this
hey kid you did great!
Good job!! but the 16-bit music isn't good for a 8-bit animation... well, it's a detail :)
1. the Opening of Other M is based on the final battle in Super Metriod(if you have not played it,go play it now)
2. we don't like talking bout other M.....
Picky, but my only thought was, you can't survive this fight : Mother Brain's rainbow beam in SM will do you for 300hp with both suits equipped and is unavoidable. You're dead son!
Not bad, but if you took the 8-bit version of this song, and maybe taken a Pokemon's cry, this would bave added to the "8-bit realism".
Who's watching in 2024?
super cool! Would have been awesome with 8 bit music too!
Chicken head Mother Brain 0:52
Very cool vid, good job
it isnt mugen btw. it's an animation using 8 bit sprites.
Excellent idea and design. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was pretty cool, but I still would've liked to of seen a hyper beam.
When I was younger I believed this was a thing.
Nicely done!
that was great :P
what game are these graphics from?
