How I polished my Work Meister s1 3p wheel lips (First time)

How about clear coating it? When I was young I thought polishing my r1 frame by hand was a great idea. It took me 6 months came out great but I never kept up with the maintenance i was more interested in riding. Clear coat might dull it but for someone like me with no time to polish it would be shinier most of the time. Thoughts? Looking to get the same wheels
