I had the window mechanism replaced in my 120i and one day it just stopped working because the glass moved a bit, did this, and works as a charm. Even better than how the the mechanic set it up on the computer.

Interesting I just have my car service plugs changed and my guy must have disconnected my battery I had him check it over making sure that it wasn't discharging so this issue with the window popped up Thanks for the intel much appreciated

No problem...their maybe some other things to reset as well if you had to reset the windows...for example the sunroof and speed sensors

This worked great on my 2003 convertible. My passenger side window (ds worked oddly enough) wouldn't do the little twitch up and down when the door is opened and I thought it was in the latch switch. Thanks for the tip!

Just got my 128i back from painting, where the battery was disconnected for a while. When I got the car back I now have issue. I’ve tried this reset along with countless others with no luck. I had no issues prior to the battery disconnect. My only other idea is to have someone disconnect & reconnect the battery with the windows both fully up. I have tried to the same tactic with them closed but that had no effect. Thoughts ?
Just keep trying it should work ...i didnt get it on the first try
hi guys I have a 128i 2010 convertible, I did change my window regulator in my passenger side, I disconnected the battery but now the automatic window drop is not working, before when I opened the door both windows dropped half inch automatically, and when I closed the doors they when up automatically, I looked some videos here in UA-cam in how to fix it but I can't get the doors to work.
anybody had this issue before and how did you guys fix it.

I got the same thing because I replace battery, but it only happens with driver side and my E92 has roll window up and down by fob it used to be able to roll both window, but now driver window down't roll with fob.

Sometimes you just have to keep trying …or maybe it needs adjustment internally

It actually should work and if you have the repair manual, it should list the procedures in there. There are other procedures if you had to do this one.

It worked but now the window doesn’t go down same as before, I open de door and the window go down a bit but less than before, it still touch the up part of the door 😭
Try again lol or maybe ya window needs adjustment

When I pull the switch to raise the window, once it gets to the top it just drops back down due to the anti trap, so I'm still pulling the switch and the window is just sitting there a few inches down. Wtf do I do?

Wow...so there could be a few reasons...the window motor...the switch...a fuse...best is to put it thru a scanner to narrow down the issue...this video is based off a coupe when the battery has been disconnected or switched out

Try again...i did not get it on the first try ...if that dont work then it has to go to bmw ...they have the legit scan tools to do anything

Have to buy the switch module …take it out and copy the serial number and find the replacement…serial number has to match yours

First diag need to done may cost around 150 for that at the dealer....How old is the battery??? Is it time for a new one??? Year of vehicle.?? Make model??? if its a bmw all this needs to be done at the dealer because a new battery needs to be registered/ programed. But if its not the battery then it may be that a module is faulty....only way telling is by having a diagnostic done🤷🏽♂️
How was the battery jumped ...was it done under the hood like it was suppose to ....something went wrong and its hard to pinpoint so definitely needs a diagnostic done and everything needs to be told to the mechanic thats performing the job ....or make sure the service advisor logs the details for the mechanic

Ok cool ....so hopefully its just a fuse ...theres a fusebox behind the glove box...or your bmw might be different 🤷🏽♂️....my best advice for you is to do some research on which fuses are related to the power windows...and replace them ...that would be a good start before going to the dealer 👍🏽
My window won’t let me roll it all the way up, it will roll all the way up and the drop the window back to half way.
Had this issue before ...that means your switch is failing....you need a new switch....pop the switch out and underneath is a part number ...take a picture of that part number and you can find one on ebay for cheap....or you can give bmw service your vin and get a new one...its more money that way
These switches fail because when it rains and we open our window water falls on them

Bimma Joc idk if it’s the switch, I was in an accident and replaced the passenger door with an m3 one, I used everything out of my old door and the switch was fine then. It’s almost like it thinks something is obstructing it when it’s going up, but it’s not.
Mase Stuelke then it’s definitely the switch because from what you told be part numbers are different then the original.,,,so now you need to find the correct part number using your vin at the dealer....a lot things in this car are programmed....if you change something programmable that is different then original the modules are having a tough time communicating with the new part ....so weird stuff will happen

Same issue, on my 325 convertible When start the top down all 4 Windows down during the process, When finalice the process all 4 Windows automaticatly go up, then after any Window Won't go down, the Master switch didn't respond and Same thing happend to the passenger switch didn't respond, the battery recently was change..... plis i need to know if are issue to reset the memory car
Alexandro Zurita memory reset didn’t work on minesss .. I took it to a bmw dealership and the charged me 500$ to replace my sensors now it works fine

Sorted just dropped windows off the remote and put back up all is good.

Ok cool ...this happened to me a year ago ...i still bought a back up switch then a year later the back up switch came in handy ...just a sign that the switch may be failing
How come all the videos I’ve seen, they all have different ways.. one says hold window down for 10 seconds, another says hold down for 15, another video says double tap down. Shit is annoying 😂
