Initially I was turned off by various things in AoE 3 such as the time period and no dropoff point for resources and I did not understand the mechanics of the game. I also did not like grinding to level up my homecity. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a chance and watched tutorial videos and the professionals play. After a while I got better and started to love the game. Now I consider it to be one of the best games ever made.
It is a good thing that they removed the card grinding from the DE edition. Metaprogression like that is really annoying in a strategy game. Makes you feel like you can not fight on a level playingfield.
well, you could just edit the files that kept track of your homecity progress with a simple text editor and increase the level that way but yes, it's nice that they removed the grinding alltogether (although I think they could have kept it in for homecity customization as this doesn't affect the actual gameplay)
@@IschmarVI It was trickier to do this online. You could not just edit your files online. But there were tricks around it so you could bootstrap yourself. But really. There should be no need for that. And yes. Customization is still an unlock, but I do not mind that. I sort of like that aspect in a way.
In what world does this look better than aoe4?Aoe3 doesn’t look good imo and feels worse to play, exactly how I felt when it came out. I immediately went back to aoe2. Hero units? Ya that’s a no from me dog.
It's amazing how fucking annoying the aoe II/IV community is, people from the aoe III community don't open their mouths for anything, we don't flame the content of aoe IV, we have our criticisms of the game, but in general we stay quiet, some of us consume the content of aoe IV, but we keep quiet in our space... We don't go to the AoE IV videos that dorngo makes with so much love and affection and we get fed up with the fuck, at most someone says "I miss the live end videos of aoe III".but you don't, you insist on being extremely annoying, every video of aoe III on this channel after the drongo starts to make content of aoe IV, you guys show up to piss off and make flame, EVERY VIDEO WITHOUT EXCESSION. In the last 6 months there were dozens of videos about aoe IV, there were 2 of aoe III and even so you guys think it's bad that we received any about aoe III, this is bizarre... Impressive how you find some excuse to make a flame, "oh this game is very bright, it hurts your eyes keep watching it, come back make a video of the IV", or "this game is dead why are you still playing this", "this game is very boring to watch"... etc Instead of talking shit, have you ever thought about simply not watching the content that you don't like? so simple, why don't you do that instead of trying to discourage the production of content and keep making flame? Do just like the aoe III community stay quiet and consume the content you like, don't get in the way.
@@Toonrick12 I agree with you and I don't care about drongo or any other aoe III youtuber record videos from other games I like it, but I don't understand these people who get upset about it.
AoE3 games seem to just end suddenly. The ability to make a 200 pop army almost immediately is just way too strong. It'd probably make more sense to me if my game sense for AoE3 was better, but I like the sprawling cities and tug of war from AoE2 that they really well replicated in 4. Still fun to watch though
This game didn't end suddenly though. Kaiser snowballed his eco by controlling the trading route and Mitoe didn't manage to exploit his better units due to Kaiser's kiting and good base positioning.
it is true though that AoE III tends to be more snowbally than the other games in the series. But then again, that also means that winning early fights actually *matters* , unlike in 2, where the opponent can just wall and in the end, the earlygame doesn't really matter at all. (I know that this is somewhat of a stretch: games can be decided quickly in 2 as well, but the tendency is definitely there)
@@IschmarVI That's very true. From a viewers perspective I find the sudden "Oh its over" from 3 a bit jarring. On the flip side the "Who's winning? This game has been going on for 45 minutes?" in 2 is pretty bad as well. I think 4 has found a really good middle ground. Its fun to watch and there doesn't seem to be this snowball or sudden end because of something I don't understand. And walling yourself in isn't a viable strategy because holy sites are back baby.
I have subscribed to your channel for aoe4 content. When I have seen the miniature and the graphics I thought : "oh the skins looks great and what kind of settings he has? Oh no, it's an aoe3 video..."
no offense, i am a very active subscriber and i watch every single video of yours, but please try to not use your webcam when casting, when playing i think it is a great addition, but not on commentary on other peoples games, ruins the vibe

Like the person above said, DE made it so you no longer have to upgrade your home city to unlock cards. It's much easier to jump in and play now.

What a wonderful match! Please keep the AOE3 contents flowing!
I like the fact the we are not on the same timezone. Love drinking my morning coffee to your video. Drongo, keep up the good work! 🌱
Glad the better game I'd getting love on the channel again. I'd bet you coming back and making more content would invigorate the player base again!
aussie always like your aoe3de content. keep it alive brother.
A surprise to be sure! But a welcome one :D
Hope you keep up the AoE3 content!
Great to see you keeping up with the AoE3 content, AoE4 just doesn't feel as dynamic of a game
if kaiser builds walls you understand a new era begun
Omg omg omg 😍😍😍😍
AoE III DE contente ❤️❤️
AOE3 Hype!
What a lovely game. Amazing to see
why no game sounds?
game looks better than aoe4 so sad to see they kinda neglect their newest game

aoe III takes 14 years to be polished and it still has its problems, I still have faith that in a few years the aoe IV will be good
@@Mapexxd dude just be quiet and save your fanboy flame for you, we don't flame your content, don't flame our content, simple
Different developers.
@@Mapexxd so aoe 3 "does not look good" and the solution you found was going back to aoe 2.. which is a pixelated game and looks like shit.. congrats
The face reveal was easy to accept. Take that as you will.
He already did a face reveal when we got the first aoe 4 reveal
You should do Low Elo Legends for this game.

why play aoe3 while you can play aoe4 😉
AoE3? what? no,...
I understand why aoe3 never took off, such a boring game to watch compared to both 2 and 4. Alot of swing and miss in the 3rd.
Aoe 4 and 2 are boring af, zero stratergies with just 3 units being used.
