I cannot agree more. Sure the S24 Ultra has - flatter / matte / anti reflective screen - better processor - 7 yr software update but the S23 Ultra still retains the charm that it had the day of its launch. Sure the phone will have less software updates than of the S24 Ultra, but 5 years of Software updates are still pretty good.
@@crnitomo6067 it's uncommon but there are people who do use their phone for 7 years. Not everyone but still. With phone pricing getting more expensive with features that are barely worth a bi yearly upgrade, I can definitely see more people hanging onto their phones a lot longer.
Just bought it again yesterday sold my 24 as I prefer the 23 and I shouldn’t have bought the 24 as you say there’s no need!!! Nice video that makes sense!!! 😊
Thanks for your great videos. One question, you do a number of 1 year/etc reviews, so obviously, you are actually using the phone during that period. How do you juggle that many phones at one time?
I do have a phone that I'm using the MOST often (flip rn)since it has my garage/University/id cards on it but I take all the phones with me (2) and won't be caught lacking 😅 since the school year is over I've moved my Google wallet back to the s23U for the time since I'm doing a lot more outside of school productivity (Airbnb/DocuSign/and other brands inown that require designing to an extent and social media activity) while the S24U goes through a few bugs and patches in the camera area - although atp the s24U has pretty much gone through enough patches and rollouts to provide much more consistent performance than at launch so I'll be switching back to that. I only change sim when I roll up - so when the zf6 comes out that'll be it for the zf5 videos (so I have 2 sims) but the s24U will be getting the s23U sim and I'll be trading in the s23U shortly. Switching Sims isn't the issue - only 2 phones at a given time - the ISSUE is my Google Wallet that I need to sign out of the entire Google account on one device to open the cards on the other.
s23U all the way imo. The one plus devices are solid too no doubt, reviews them here too - but one major issue, OnePlus has INSANE depreciation - at the end of those 4 years that OnePlus will be worth nothing vs the s23U still will pull value for trade in deals etc.
@@ChilledFossilofficial Do you notice big battery change after the last update? This is my major concern buying s23u and after some reddit posts people say battery is like 3-4h screen on time ( whatsapp youtube ig )

mine is exactly 1yo and i checked it with geekbench 6. it is almost 40% slower compared to the baseline for it. and it feels, on mine at least. i checked also my daughter’s iphone 11 and the numbers are actually a little better than the baseline in geekbench. i am a bit disappointed.
It means a lot. This technology is very expensive for people in other countries. If you have a 7 year update plan, you could buy a flagship device from 2 years ago for the price of a medium range and still have 5 years of updates left.
Swapping to s23 ultra from s24 ultra cuz s24u has insane brightness dimming issues it drops to unviewable low in 5mins of sun. S23 ultra doesn't, it's SD gen 3 even with vapor chamber cooling thermals are crap on s24u
@ChilledFossilofficial I know! Had one little scratch on the back but it has been my dream phone since its release and I just couldn't say no. Got an s23 that will probably resell at 420 so it at least evens out.
It "shouldn't" but I think he meant that as apps and games evolve with updates or become bigger/fancier/better, they may demand more hardware resources to run them the same way they used to before.

The s24 ultra has grainy display and colour banding:)
You certainly won't have the same device for 7 years

We use the same charger. The 65 watts oneplus charger. It charges 45 watts max and it is fast.

If you have the 23u you may as well wait for the 25u or 26u, gen 3 isn’t great, it overheats like gen 1 did, gen 2 has much better stability.
Yeah, im hoping to wait 3 more generations before an upgrade. Hopefully, by then, there's actually a feature worth upgrading for.
love ur review so honest ❤ btw can't go wrong with s23U such a beast of a phone even after a year.
Next time when you talk about something, put samples. You talked about the camera without putting one image.

@@ChilledFossilofficial I see that two isn't too bad. I envisioned 3-4. Thanks,
Also check out Samsung certified refurbished the s23 ultra comes with new battery. This message is from my S23 Ultra 1 year old and still strong.
I didn't get my 6.1 yet what to do about that the last time my phone update was October 2023 6.0
Samsung rolls them out so all phones won't get updates at the exact same time - even the same models/specs

Go for s23 ultra it's greatest phone of the year I am using it and there is not any problems.

7 year update means nothing..no one is keeping a phone for 7 years... by that point the s24 ultra will have battery drain
I have an Samsung S8 which is 7 years old, and I'm only upgrading because it just broke

This is true the s23 line up is good
