I'm not a musician, so I don't know how to articulate the technicalities of what how much is made but I can def sense when an artist is different. Genius musicians that know how to blend old school and new school. Gotta appreciate art. Thanks for the reaction!
You've got great ears and good taste! Anderson is one of a kind. In fact the whole band impressed so much. So tight!
That last one is mad raunchy, but I can’t help but laugh every time I hear that line, ‘she can cook grits & roll a spliff at the same time.’ 😂😂😂. I’m mainly a jazz player that has done other work. Glad you listened to APaak. His personal work is more raw & organic, so it’s interesting to see what a chameleon he is to fit into various styles as he does in Silk Sonic. You’re experience comes across in your perception, especially of Anderson & his place in S.S. Thanks for mentioning solos! 🤗 By now you’ve heard the full Evening With Silk Sonic album. One thing I realized is that Bruno only starts 2 songs out of the nine. Andy starts all the rest. That helps to highlight his importance in this collaboration. He also spoke of how Bruno pushed him in the studio, I think vocally, & he definitely comes across as a legit singer. Part is how his musicality plays into his interpretation as a lead singer. They’re also both such great team players, which reflects the love & respect for the music as a whole. Everybody does their part for the good of the whole. Very cool viewing your reactions. 👍
I’ve been a been a fan a Paak since 2018 but Musically I think you would loveee his album Malibu
Great Reaction ❤️
Malibu was the first album I heard by him in 2016 and been a fan since. It's still my favorite album him.
This guy and his band are a breath of fresh air.
She's right. He's playing drums, singing (and rapping) and that's hard to do well. Also, this is jazz. Unfortunately, this country seems to have turned its back on this type of musicianship. Other parts of the world resoect it more these days.
Sad ain't it
Anderson is gonna mess around an create a new music genre.
Totally!
Bet 😍
The Free Nationals are intensely phenomenal as well, btw. 🙌🏽
I’ve known about Andy since Malibu years ago, but I was only a casual listener. I’d watched his interviews around when he was doing Oxnard. Then again two years ago around Trolls World Tour lol. I just remember him here & there, had a couple of his singles in my library. But then after Silk Sonic dropped? I mean lol I watch his performances so much now haha also Paak House last month was soooooo damn good. Andrew and the Free Nationals and friends killed it. It’s not just his talent or skill, but his energy and charisma. Magnetic.
I see you everywhere 🤣
Yeah his paak house was great!
"Andrew" lol you know the joke 😂😂
Shout out to the bass player
The whole band is tight.
@@VocalSplendorStudios yes! I agree
Not sure if you’ve seen this couch version of Silicon Valley but in the intro he calls him Wes Montgomery the 2nd 😅😩

That was a brilliant reaction and explanation of what these guys are about...first class musicians! A good musician friend of mine was always quoting "less is more'... so true!
Thank you! This is one of the only reactions that I have watched over and over. I usually record and post. I just loved their whole vibe.
Anderson Paak.... the Modern-day Funk Gawd and voice of a Generation. 🤌🏽💥🤌🏽💥
So glad you enjoyed it. I also found him in Silk Sonic. I can see you really enjoy him and his music just like me. 😁👍🏾
That big, beautiful smile you have when you hear what you are trained to hear shows that you really enjoy this performance. I, just like you watched a show called Survivors Remorse heard a verse of "Put me Thru", stayed up 2hours to re-watch the episode so I could find out who did the song. I been a fan ever since. That was about 5 yrs ago
He is amazing.
I'm so glad that you finally got to this one. I loved it.
Same. I've actually listened to it several times now. I love it so much!
You have just smacked the bullseye dead center with Mr. Paak. Happy New Year and thank you for another super reaction. Keeping time with a rapid pace rap beat, singing with that jazzy voice and smiling that light up the room smile makes him a serious contender for entertainer of the year.
I am an absolute fan of your critiques
Thanks for your reaction. I am equally passionate about AP and did the same. I start my day with a dose of Anderson. Look at his Grub Hub performance. It’s 45 minutes of bliss.
Finally!!!
Great!
Awesome reaction! Would love to see a reaction to The Sinseers NPR tiny desk performance!!
Yes!
YOU have got to see his GIDGET video LIVE on Grubhub OMG I just heard it and can’t get enough of this young talented artist. He’s so good and the vibe works well with my workouts 😂
Please look up Anderson.Paak performs Tints SVT. So good!
I feel like you had so much fun doin this review. It was dope!
Checkout his cameo return to Tiny Desk 2 years later he performs a song called Gidget with the Free Nationals and India Shawn it's brilliant
While I agree with everything you’ve said about how important the band’s training and years playing together are, I also believe lots of what we’re witnessing can NOT be “taught,” especially formally. All the schooling, theory, and even apprenticeship with much better musicians can not provide someone with an internally calibrated feel/sense of soul or groove, or a certain level of rhythmic knowledge. Much of this, while I’m sure honed over time, is giftedness, which only God can give, and life experiences particular to that musician.
🙏
I agree! A teacher can only show the ways. The real teacher is the self navigation of the soul and applying it with the other souls in congregation
I picture my mind making the same facial expressions while listening to this tiny desk concert
Modern James Brown. Idc what anyone says
Can you please react to Anderson .Paak - The Bird 2016 (NPR MUSIC FRONT ROW).
Thank you. 🙂
It's great that you and so many people got to him now! I think you may also like this other tiny desk concert... another tight band of true musicians, and a lot happening in the vocals ua-cam.com/video/QKzobTCIRDw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NPRMusic
Late comment, but PJ Morton ‘Gumbo Unplugged’ is a must listen if you like this. It’s a hidden gem of a video
You should react for "The Weekend - Sacrifice" trust me you are gonna like it 👌 gives me the old MJ - Off the wall album vibes back 😁
You gotta react to the band Jinjer’s song Pisces - Live Session. You won’t regret it 😎
🙂⭐⭐⭐👍❤️
I think you might also enjoy the Mac Miller tiny desk :)
React to MARIZA please. VIVA O fado
