Oh man, I couldn't help but laugh at the whole offering the farm up as the wedding venue scenes lol Poor Chris just trying to lighten the mood, Amy scowling and saying out loud how Matt and Karen may not even be invited but will still be around, Matt's face being so bright red throughout the conversation, and awful Karen with her whole "we" statements as if she has become the other owner of the farm and took Amy's role... It was all so awkward in the most entertaining way possible lol. I still love Amy though, always have, and I love that she now has Chris in her life.

Amy is an awesome hostess, wow she can kick out some good food. Love her, she is my favorite character on the show, IMO of course. And Zach is definitely a close 2nd! These two touch my heart so much.
Hey, after 30 years of hard work and knowing Amy ,putting family and everything else before her own personal interests for the sake of a blighter future for her family and a place they can retire and enjoy their grand kids etc..and having to see someone else enjoying the fruits of her efforts is darn hard thing! It's like being cheated out of what you worked so hard for , for most of your adult life. No way would I even consider giving them the pleasure of easing their guilt .
They worked together. When you get divorced you get half. You either sell the property and split the proceeds or one buys the other out. She recieved her half. She didnt like Matt from the first episode. She was against every plan he had for the farm. They were never going to "retire together." She was miserable from the first day. She got her half. He got a new mortgage debt (to pay her). She doesn't really want the farm ...she just doesn't want him to have it. She's insanely vindictive. Either way they both recieved their fair share from their life together.

Getting her half of the value of their material things is what happened and what is supposed to happen. Amy never had any desire to stay on the farm. She does have a desire to convince other women that she has somehow been victimized. Like many couples, they got divorced. She got half. He got half. No victims.

I think Amy still loves Matt and is still hurt. She needs to learn to let go and she'll get so much more in return.

Agreed-I think any strong, unresolved, emotion surrounding an ex or past love is actually a wounded form of the previous love you had for that person. Amy needs to reach a point of resolved anger toward Matt. She needs to be free of any strong emotions toward him (unresolved, residual, love). I believe she will get there in time but therapy could help her immensely.

Amy is so hateful and mean spirited. The whole time living on the farm, all she did was complain about everything Matt did to make the farm a family surrounding. At one point she even had the kids disrespecting him. She doesn't deserve the farm and I hope Matt just lets her continue to be miserable in her own skin. She never supporting him and kept the house filthy. It has always been about her.
Another point of view. Matt is a covert narcissist who abused her mentally behind the scenes and after all those years she looks like the crazy one who's just trying to protect herself by going cold because narcs have no leverage without emotions to mess with.🤷🏼♀️

@@isabellind1292 I look at it this way, getting married and having a family is really hard work. And Amy had to work extra hard, having four children for Matt was no easy task, that's for sure! I feel the betrayal , with her as she tries to make sense of it all. To children a Father is the superhero someone you put all your trust in, and the Dad you thought you knew was gone,and the family was changed forever, and a Mother, guide's and protects her children as she teaches them to prepare to be an adult. And Amy put trust in Karen not to take her husband from, her and ruin her family

It is incredibly hard, to stop 🛑 loving someone you built a life with, and had a family with! I have a lot of divorced friend's and the pain and sorrow they experience is so painful,it so sad!

I consider myself so lucky my parents loved & respected each other and I can't imagine what divorce does to a family but cheating has to be the ultimate betrayal.

It depends on the reason they offered it. Just because they did doesn t mean Matt has moved on in healthier ways than Amy or that he’s the bigger person. Matt and Caryn always take little digs at her. And I watched the show from its beginning. He was never a help with the house and the kids and put Amy down quite often if she had an idea for the farm. That would be hard to get past.

If you have watched the show from the beginning they were struggling. Amy and Matt both had outside jobs. Then as the show became a hit and the big bucks rolled in . So they became wealthy and realized they didn't like each other any longer. And then the divorce happened.

I still think Amy couldn’t wait to get the money after her 6 month grieving and packing to move. The money which I’m sure Amy got a good settlement in the divorce.
