Micka I love seeing the joy you still get from every single fish! Many who start doing things they love for a living/full time loose the enjoyment they once got from it. Keep up the videos I am learning all I can from you before I start trying my luck on the Ohio River, graduating from my home lake.
@@jdthebluecollarconservative thank you. Yeah I truly enjoy every fish I get. I know what your saying though. I just don't think this will ever get old for me lol
Even the grease sized fish need love too 😂. That water looked like glass, and you definitely proved you can bump un a lot more conditions than heavy current. Great time Micah 🎉🎉
@@want2boutdoors274 thank you. Lol them little ones are definitely fun on lighter tackle.
Another great video. I learn something every time.
The care you take in releasing your fish is
Wonderful. Thank for taking us along.
@@stephenbriles8404 thank you I appreciate that.
Great fishing thanks for the video

The giggles were as good as the fish. That’s what it’s about brother
@@Lwjohnson1985 thank you. Yeah I definitely have a blast chasing them fish.
It is always great when just a fun plan to catch some fun size fish gives you a bonus big one. Be blessed. My brother.
@@JoeHazlet thank you. Lol yeah definitely didn't expect that fish.
Good morning 🌞 Micka from Jackson Tennessee, this method of fishing 🎣 looks like jigging for catfish. I’ve lived here now for two years and haven’t found a fishing buddy. My wife and I both love eating catfish and we have been fortunate enough to have a neighbor that has given us catfish. We substitute catfish for tuna and make casseroles with it. Turns out that it’s a delicious substitute for tuna, we’ve also used it for sandwich spread also a delicious way to eat fish that are abundant locally. If you’re ever in the neighborhood and want to fish a small lake or river lake graham and the south fork of the forked horn river doesn’t have giants that I know of but an abundance of fish. Keep on keeping on and stay safe 👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️🍀
@@KunesRGr8 that is awesome. All that sounds really good. And thank you for that. I make it there every now and again.
Good trip love watching you.
@@chuckpool1674 thank you
Well Done Micka. This is the way I used to fish, using the wind and slight current to move me around in my john boat, old stiff ugly stik with whatever reel I had that could handle big line. Thanks for sharing the experience.
@@markybob_bassplaya1462 thank you. Yep that's about how we use to do it.
Great job 👍
@@beverlycurry4370 thank you
Until the last few years chans and flatty were all i'd fished until Milford lake blues still searching for my 50. I know you've caught bigger but man that looked fun and the excitement in your voice! Keep enjoying this you make it fun for all of us.
@@vbarranch4424 thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah every fish I catch is a blast.
Patient paid off Micka 😊 another great video

@@travishanger8604 thank you. Happy Labor day to you as well.
Great job n even better fish! Absolutely crushing it out there brother💪
@@levimans0610 thank you.
Good morning ❤
Great video Micka. Caught a lot of eaters and a 50, thanks for weighing it. Last month you caught a couple of 50 s. Then went through a slow time in your mind catching eaters and bigger like 30 lbs. I have not caught a catfish all summer. Did good in the spring but it has been a rough year with the heat and flooding rain. I finally switched to bass fishing in ponds and doing good.
Back to the 50 you caught in this video and all the eaters. I don't want to hear you complain about not catching what you want for the next couple of weeks. It makes me feel worthless as a catfisherman. That 50 took you for a ride and you were shaking and I love that. Keep catching and I appreciate your hard work. ✌️
@@dalewood5964 lol thank you. Well I always appreciate every fish I catch. But I can definitely understand where your at. I really hope you get on some soon. Thank you for your support. I really do appreciate it.
How awesome is that!
@@billylusk3515 I know right 😆. Thank you.

Ha, Turkey Tree, so glad to hear me and Father are not the only who name stuff this way.
Cool technique, if the bite is slow tonight like it was Saturday night im definitely gonna give this a try.
@@micahdavenport7721 good deal. Just a different way to present the bait.
Incredible! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@DaleWyman thank you
I fish off my dock at Lake of the Ozark and when the bite is slow I use one rod and fish cut bait like a plastic worm cast out and reel it back slowly and it is effective at times
@@MikeJackson-b3z that's pretty awesome from a dock. Good deal.
What a great day of fishing and a beautiful day on the water.
I never know what I might hook when I fish like that on Wheeler, anything from catfish to gar to drum to stripper and a few times something that headed up river and never slowed down. 😊
GREAT video Micka
@@HomesickforAlaska thank you. Yeah you just never know.
Absolutely awesome video looks like fun.

@@PopPopJoe thank you
I've been watching your channel for a long time. I've always wondered why you don't put your landing net in a rod holder would make it a lot easier to get to it to land a fish
Well most of the time it's not really a big deal if I'm dragging baits or something. But probably doing that I could put it in the rod holder. Would have come in handy that day 😆
Well you only run five rods and you have an empty rod holder there that you could have the net in would beat running to the front of the boat for it
@@Frenchbroadcatman. yeah you are correct. I just think it looks to busy in the video. But maybe not. I'll give it a go.
@@mickaburkhart14 looks to busy running around the boat to me just what me and my buddies do it's saved us some fish over the years that we wouldn't have gotten other wise
When that fish broke over the side of the boat. I knew he was at least a 50. Sometimes you have to change the way you pursue fish. Good day. HOPE YOU CATCH A GIANT. Wonder where I heard that from.
Thats a dandy!
@@billydelong7372 thank you
Bigen
Congrats non the 50# Spencer would be proud LOL
Just goes to show even older, even old school tactics have their place, great video once again and really nice fish 💯🎣
@@Bshepherd24 very true. Thank you
Another great video. can you do that technique with current or does it need to be no current.
We used to bump like that almost exclusively below the dams but with a different setup. We used hand twisted "Kentucky rigs". Do you have a small float on your hook leader or was it just a rattle?
@@redneckolympics good deal. I just have a small rattle by the hook.
@@mickaburkhart14 I was actually doing a bit of it a couple of weeks ago and smashed a mid section eye on my flipping stick in the rod locker door. 2 weeks before I broke 8" off of the tip of my other flipping stick with the trolling motor hung up below the dam. I told you this catfishing is costing me a fortune. Lol
@@redneckolympics lol oh man. That ain't good.
Do you run the alijoz 300 on all your rigs, or do you have some 400s as well??
On my bumping rods I use the 300s.
