I am already a handyman working for a property manager, but looking to start up my own handyman solo business. My question is, so its ok to change your hourly rate monthly because you are charging by the job, correct?

Its ok to change your rate any time for anything. For example I charge $70 for a clean fan installation and $1000/HR to dig with a shovel in summer lol

Yes, it is definitely okay to constantly change your hourly rate and the client should never really know because you charged by the job

I have watched your videos for awhile and bought the books. Very helpful and insightful. I will say it is hard for me when it comes to the pricing because I do this as a side job. So how do you come up with a price for that? I am already way cheaper then most in my area but I pick and choose what I want to do to the point I actually have a guy I work with when it comes to job size. That way if it's bigger than what I want he can take it and if it's small I can. Maybe I will make it my full time job but I like my full time job and I make really good money doing it. So that is what makes it hard to come up with a price because my cost is so low because I do have a full time. It also let's me really pick and choose what I want to or not do for jobs because it really isn't going to change what happens in my life. I don't want to sound conceded in this because I feel very blessed to be in this position and very fortunate. I just don't want to undercut myself or others that this is their full time job as it might be mine one day too.

Also how do you feel about going door to door to put you name out there

That definitely works to an extent, but you need to increase online traction in this day and age

Yes, taxes need to be accounted for in your figures, to be conservative say 15%
